It's a cool little game. Difficult at start and a bit easier over time with meta proggression. Becasue of it's simplicity and creative direction you might get a bit claustrophobic at times, overall it's a good game but not for everyone

I've already sunk over 12 hours into it this week without even noticing, and I fear I might spend hundreds more.
It's a real shame the game didn’t achieve commercial success — I’d gladly follow the development of this project.
The wizard is broken and I love it. Pretty fun for a while, not too deep to be honest, but good enough for the price.
A great simple "card game" that hooks you in with progression unlocks. Not really a card game, more of a puzzle game, which was a refreshing surprise to all the Slay the Spire clones. The developers were at one point going to remaster this but decided not to. It's a shame, another class and area with some updated art would have made this game even better.
I didn't click with this game at first. The tutorials were long and hard and I wasn't really enjoying playing these same stages over and over again. I would recommend doing only one of the tutorials at first and hoping right in the main game.
I went back a while later and got hooked. It's not your typical deck builder, since you get to respond during your opponents turn with dodges, blocks, and counters. There are no random cards to add to your deck, all of your equipment has a certain set of cards associated with it. I wasn't sure if I liked this at first, but it grew on me.
It takes some practice, but once you understand the mechanics, playing out perfect turns and clearing an entire screen of enemies on turn 1 feels great. It's insane how many pieces of gear there are to unlock and combinations of builds that all feel uniquely different. Each class has a piece of gear you can unlock, noted by a ? on each zone whether or not you have unlocked it or not. There must be at something like 200+ pieces of gear to unlock that each come with their unique set of cards.
Even after 50 hours, I have only unlocked about a 3rd of the gear.
Difficult and that's a good thing
It's a pretty good game. You don't build a deck as you go, but instead you unlock new equipment and each piece of gear adds a set of cards to your deck. So your deck customization is based on your gear loadout, and you keep your gear between runs.
I really like the thematic elements - the character classes, adventures, and monsters are really well designed and create a nice fantasy vibe.
My biggest complaint is that the battles take a really long time and making a mistake is extremely punishing. I also find the "level up" portion rather pointless. But overall cool game, I really enjoyed completing it

I love roguelike card games, but I feel like I should have listened to the negative reviews with this one.
The mechanics are all quite cool, but for me the entire design falls apart on one fatal flaw. I usually play these kind of games to do some quick up to one hour long runs in the evening. However, with this one, two evenings in a row, the runs ended up in a lengthy slog that almost lasted past midnight. And the worst thing was that the gameplay did not even change very much during those 2+ hr long runs, I just eventually felt like I was doing the same thing over and over again. The resulting boredom and loss of concentration (which is highly required ALL the time or you will lose fast) made me perform worse, so I did not even win in the end.
Idk, it just feels like it is a game for a different, more slow-paced era than this one. There are just so many more interesting games of the same genre, that spending 50+ hours to unlock most the different content of this one seems highly unlikely for most gamers imo.

GREAT GREAT GREAAAAT GAME THAT DOES ITS OWN THING.
In the current era where anything with cards (that isn't a TCG) must be a variation of Slay the Spire, Card Quest is different and it's a lot of fun. I'd remove the "rogue-like" tag for sure. Strangely, I'd say this plays more like a unique strategy or even puzzle game, with the replay value coming from the learning and retry you need to succeed.

THE BASIC CONCEPT
Your character may be fixed from the start of an adventure by choosing your 6 items, and it can perform quite consistently after that. The deck is built from your style/school, main hand, and off hand; each part giving around 5 cards. Plus picking armor and two trinkets; these give passives and/or quasi-consumable actives. Just a couple of trinkets end up being redundant/too weak in comparison.
The way this creates variety is amazing. It's like each of the four characters has 3 or 4 subclasses that you can merge in different degrees. All, I do mean ALL, strategies are distinct and fun.
The puzzle comes in because each zone presents unique enemies that might ask you to do very different things to win (especially the later ones). So, you'll sometimes get into fights that counter you terribly. Next time, you'll plan your build to beat that harsh zone. This game had me making a Word document to record details of the zones, so I could plan out the best complete paths for the different characters I wanted to win with. It was all very fun and rewarding.

THE PROGRESSION
When you beat a zone, it gives you 1 item for the character you're playing with. It was also very rewarding to discover piece by piece the vast possibilities of what each character could become.
In this sense, there is meta-prgression, but I never felt like it was grinding, each item was the well deserved prize for solving an interesting fight. Also, the game does not become boring due to unlocking super powerful things.

THE VIBE
The art seemed a bit off at first, but it really ended up growing on me. It all brings a lot of flavor into what you're doing. For a game with no animations and no depiction of your character in-game, the art really pulled it off!!! It got me vividly imagining and acting how the fights might play out in real time.
Weird, but even the plain black background ended up working well. It was just a nice canvas to imagine the dark forests, caves, stormy mountains, corrupted streets, roofs at night, castles, and all the atmospheric scenes suggested.
Everything flows in a nice simple story that branches with your decision of which zone to explore.
It all just works!

THE BAD
Card Quest does have bits of jank. Mostly issues with unclear or incomplete explanations of what items do (and plenty details that are important if you really want to plan your adventure), specially the info around buff/debuffs. I did encounter 1 or 2 mechanics with such quirky inconsistencies that I must assume they're bugged.
Again, the game had me writing details about this in my Word document... but it's all worth it.

This is truly an underrated gem classic. I'm really sad that this hasn't received more attention but I think that's only because of the slight difficulty curve in learning how to micro-manage your deck and cycle through efficiently. Here's hoping to the remaster 🍻.

So far, so good, and better. This game might not make the most spectacular first impression, but it's made with skill, care and subtle charm, and despite being a card-based sorta-roguelite, it is most decidedly NOT a Slay clone. But given that it came out two years before Slay, perhaps this shouldn't be surprising :)

Simple, but fun.
I like the concept where the equipped items determine the composition of your deck.
But the UI/UX is terrible. There are no tooltips for the icons. Attack cards require two motions to play, even though there's no reason they can't be played with a single drag like in Slay the Spire. The enemies that appear out of the darkness seem to exist solely to annoy the player for no good reason.

Very good little game with lots of content. A little bit difficult though and after a while you realize that there is only one specific way of combinations and card play to win some combats.
Great card game. Slay the spire didnt hook me but this did. Can be a bit grindy at times, but the reward of (PERMANENTLY) unlocking new cards and busted combos keeps you going.

Agree with other negative reviews. Not a terrible game but too grindy and uninspired for a genre saturated with really good alternatives.

~ Graphics are high-quality, according to the NES era. You might not like this. There's a remaster on the horizon, so wishlist and keep an eye out.
+ Gameplay is well-balanced. No deaths feel unfair. A majority of my deaths are narrow-margin, meaning I lost by 1-5 points against my favor. That's the sign of proper balance, if I qualify as a competent player. The jury's still out.
+ Progression is excellently balanced. The learning curve is pretty ideal all the way through the game, and few runs will feel wasted - you'll either learn something new about your character, the levels you're playing, or unlock meta-upgrades that will make your next run easier.
~ Balance tends toward meta- first. Personally I don't prefer this, as it can feel like you're progressing through the game according to the designer's whims. But these whims - they're so good! It doesn't feel infantilizing, or like a power fantasy. You'll gain power at the rate you want to gain it, if you're a roguelike kinda person.

This really isn't so much a "deck builder" as it is a "deck selector." Your starter deck is determined by the two pieces of starting gear you choose, and while I was offered the opportunity to switch to new gear that I found, I never saw an opportunity to add or remove cards beyond what you get in your starter deck. I played for a fair bit of time without seeing much at all in the way of progression - a point or two extra of max health and energy but nothing game-changing.
The game lacks polish in a few areas: the tutorials are more like optional character-specific puzzles, while the "help" section is relegated to three screens' worth of notes and FAQs. You also don't get much help from the computer in turn planning; the interface tries to communicate a lot of different information by flashing, and never actually calculates what your card will do if played on a given enemy.

射手前期高伤转后期运转，速推又无伤
游荡者没怎么打通，但是流氓流派在前图是真的猛，伤害高又能速推感觉是4个角色里面最快的，但是后图的怪是真------------
个人见解
教程也是能想半天，断断续续打了好久，但是打通（道具）加上理解在去打感觉会很舒服，很有想法。我是先狂玩一个角色，游荡者一直打不过去打教程，然后其他基本也打通，射手里面有个很卡，其他感觉相比还行，注意思维打开，很简单的。打完教程游荡者还是打不过，然后打后面的角色，之后的事情就是上面写的流派了。
所以是不是我游荡者理解不够还是咋地，其他都通了。。。。。。。

比塔好玩，塔有的雷和优点它也有，思考的是卡组策略而非只是整体强度，在我看来卡牌最重要的交互和博弈在这里体现的淋漓尽致，缺点可能只有像素画面好是好但人型角色设计比较丑、简陋了

Really really good, especially for the price.
Some may however not like the repetitive nature of starting every run from lvl 1, although later it's possible to start the run at later stages.
Though some hidden unlocks / additional items may require one start at lvl 1 either way, depending what one's goal is for that run.
Game itself has been designed brilliantly, gear you unlock as you play determines what cards are within your deck. Then you can also unlock subclasses for passive bonuses.
Some reviewers had an issue with "hidden enemies" mechanic, this being where the game doesn't show all the enemies present immediately and "wave two" joins in after your first turn, attacking as it does. One is able to play around this by keeping defensive cards at the end of the turn however. After some time you can even memorise which enemy setups have these "wave two's".
I'd be lying if I said the mechanic didn't end some of my runs, though.
It's not perfect but it's one of the more unique card games I've played with quite a bit of content, so I do recommend checking it out, it still holds up well.
EDIT: It should be noted that early on, while there is a preview window for enemies in the area, you can't see the exact details. So early on you may meet a hard counter to your build that wasn't clear before proceeding into the area, but as you play, you memorise "ah this boss has X that ruins me". It's not a dealbreaker, but still an annoyance.
Absolutely amazing as far as simple but challenging. A huge amount of content for price point lovely world building and aesthetics with diverse play styles. Very unique not any other games with similar mechanics very satisfying if you are looking at this game debating it, trust me even just beating the game once with one character will take hours and if you are a completionist there is easily over 100 hours of content. Everything is covered easily explained takes seconds to learn but getting a flow down takes time. Four diff classes plus subclasses as well as items to unlock for each character so even lost runs weren't pointless at all. These devs don't miss this game plus their card survival both are beyond worth checking out, these games are the reason I checkout smaller games weeding through unpolished garbage and cash grabs buggy pos beta whatevers to find well priced amazing games that give me hope for the future of gaming and help me feel amazing after a bad day <3

The problem with this game is that regular encounters are braindead easy and boss encounters are quite hard, but you spend 90% of the time in regular encounters.
So it's an exercise in being bored for 15 minutes then engaged for 2 minutes then you die or move on.. and are bored for 15 minutes again
I think this is because you have your full toolkit from the first fight, whereas in other games like slay the spire, you start with almost nothing and every fight you get a new card or relic. So every fight can be a satisfying challenge, not just the boss
The game is good, but is hard for not so good reasons.
I can get to the first area boss no problem; full health and all. Then he kills me because he double hits and has ranged mobs, plus pixies that always dodge first hit. He is also immune to stun. This is a bit of an over kill. I have tried for 7 hours and only beat him with the fighter. Rogue and Hunter are not doing the trick, which felt a little odd, because I thought hunter would be perfect for a forest domain.
Look, I'm no stranger to difficulty; I can get to the final boss of Donkey Kong Country with no game over's. I even got 110% on Super Meat Boy. And I solo'd Dark Souls. I realize those games are totally different genres that demand different types of skills, but I'd like to think it gives me some credit in saying this is overly hard.

I'll be honest, this is a tremendous game, and I have greatly enjoyed it. There is one huge imbalance though, and that's hidden enemies. On some classes, you have no way to detect hidden enemies, so it completely removes a lot of the tactics involved fighting the enemies you can see because you have no idea whether there will be hidden enemies, and there are sometimes enough of them to completely kill you from full health. It's to the point where I have to avoid killing enemies and just try to stun them or make them unaware then keep pulling and cycling cards until I have at least 3 dodge cards and hope that's enough for the time in between rounds. Hidden enemies with no counter to them is anti-fun and is why I unfortunately have to give this game a thumbs down. The best solution for this for the devs is give every class an option to detect hidden enemies as a level up perk around level 5.

Great game with a lot of flavor and depth. Lots of encounter variety and progression that makes sense. Isn't a very random game like other card games where you are randomly given cards to add to your deck. Instead, it's based on what equipment you equip to your character and those are permanently unlocked by completing stages. I very much enjoy this game. The graphics are not bad either. All the cards and effects have their own animation and art. The art is detailed and flavorful and IMO enjoyable to look at. The visual style seems basic at first glance but it is detailed, unique, and useful!
The UI is an important highlight. Many card games, especially smaller projects, are very difficult to understand what exactly is happening. I had only one or issues with this game even though their are many different effects and mechanics and after playing a minute or two with the cards or enemies that confusion would be clarified.
Please check this game out. It's a great gem.
战斗是好玩的，设计太坐牢了，引导和易读性一塌糊涂，只能全靠玩家自己踩坑，对着攻略来应该会舒服一些，但是设计思路其实本质上还是在恶心玩家，比如某条路线很明显是倾向于被某种卡组针对的，但是一定要混搭一些反针对的内容——这种设计本来可以很有趣，但就是做得十分枯燥坐牢

在这年头卡牌游戏逐渐跟肉鸽绑定的环境下，这款卡牌游戏可谓是另辟蹊径，不玩肉鸽，只在数字游戏上做到了极致。而且游戏里每个职业都有不同流派，而每个流派都有强烈的区分度，哪怕之前刷了十多个小时，我也感觉自己仅仅是刚把法师这一个职业玩明白了而已，游戏体量和设计巧妙程度绝对值得每一个卡牌游戏爱好者尝试

✔️ The core gameplay mechanics are pretty fun, with your deck being composed from a set of equipments, so each character has quite a bit of variety of playstyles, and your success depending on your ability to prevent enemies from touching you while dealing some damage to them.
❌ The issue for me is that the game is built to die and retry runs, roguelike style, but on the other hand it lacks the tools to actually make the runs very different. There is just way too little variety from a run to another - you keep fighting the same enemies and getting the same power-ups, which makes retrying runs very annoying to me. Sure, you can build different decks with your characters, but you need to win quite a bunch of battles before having additional options that actually work together.
❌ Also, as much as I enjoy pixel art in general, I can't help but find that the game's graphics lack some appeal. They're not, like, ass-ugly, and you get used to them after a while, but still.
❌ The story is as bland as they come.
So, can't really recommend this one. Every time I pick it up, I try 2-3 runs, and get bored, and then I need another year before trying again.

ローグライク＆カードゲームですが、大きな特徴としていわゆる「デッキ構築型」ではない点があります。
カード構成は、全体が 3 つに分割されており、分割された部分それぞれに対して複数の種類があります。
まだプレイ途中なので推測ですが、おそらくはその 1 部分に対して 3 種類のカード構成があります。
つまり、全体カードの構成は最大でも 3 * 3 * 3 の 27 パターンだと推測しています。
（なお、キャラクターは初期状態で 5 名います。）
それにより、一般的なデッキ構築型よりも開発者の意図通りのコンボを組みやすく、手軽にカードゲームの良いところを味わえます。
また、全体的に情報（装備品の種類やバフ・デバフの種類など）が少なく濃くまとまっているので、攻略サイトなしでも理解が容易です。
手軽にすぐ楽しみたい！という人には、向いているゲームだと思います。
注意点としては、英語版しかなさそうです。
自分の敗因として一番多かったのが、英語の読み違えによる敵の行動の見積もり誤りでした...
This is the ultimate card driven dungeon crawler - it's both challenging and varied - it's more than a deck builder - you mix up several decks representing aspects of the character, weapons and skills. Did i mention classes feel and play differently?
a great little game I bought just because I can, the rng is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ giving you garbage cards at the worst times but it's still a fun little adventure. much like every game ever, rougue is OP

[code] [b] Card Quest [/b] - карточный rogue-lite баттлер, разработанный WinterSpring Games и изданный ими же. Игра вышла в Steam в ноябре 2017 года и на данный момент имеет свыше 300 отзывов, 88% положительных что в сумме дает игре "очень положительный" рейтинг. Игра подарила мне весь спектр эмоций, и по праву занимает место самого хардкорного карточного рогалика из когда-либо мною пройденных. Описываю свои впечатления ниже. [/code]
[u] [b] ๑۩۩๑ О ГЕРОЯХ ЗАМОЛВИТЕ СЛОВО ๑۩۩๑ [/b] [/u]
Господи, ну что нового мне могут показать эти карточные рогалики? Я их на обед дюжинами ем, даже не закусывая. Структура одна и та же, быстро понимаешь общий паттерн - и шуруй вперед, открывать новые классы и карты. Делов-то. Именно так думал я во дни своей лихой и беззаботной карточной юности. Дни, когда в моей жизни еще не появился большой и страшный Card Quest.
Начало игры встретило меня бодрой музыкой из общего доступа, под героический звон которой меня настойчиво отправили в раздел обучения. "Не вздумайте его пропускать, ибо именно здесь Вы встретите своего первого огроменного демона, который размажет вас по стенке" - примерно такие намеки кидала мне игра, пока я косо посматривал на один из сюжетных режимов, однако же в туториал все же полез. И знаете что - вы будете смеяться, но я ДО СИХ ПОР не прошел его до конца (как, впрочем, и значительная часть прочих игроков, судя по достижению за пройденное обучение)!
Буквально с порога нас кидают в самую гущу геймплейных особенностей, тактик, подбора карт и правильной оценки сил и возможностей противника. В Card Querst на выбор нам предлагают четыре класса - воин, вор, маг и стрелок, и стоит отметить, что игра за каждый из них абсолютно отличается от всех остальных. Если вы привыкли, что в карточных баттлерах и рогаликах от смены класса меняется разве что пара особых карт - здесь забудьте об этом. Прохождение за каждого персонажа подарит вам отдельную гамму эмоций, большая часть которых будет связана с полнейшим подгоранием всего, что только можно.
[u] [b] ๑۩۩๑ ПРИКЛЮЧЕНИЯ ЗОВУТ ๑۩۩๑ [/b] [/u]
С горем пополам недопройдя обучение, я-таки решил окунуться в сюжетку, решив что разработчики явно взяли на вооружение принцип тяжело в учении - легко в бою. На выбор игра предлагает три возможных пути - квест по спасению Чумного Города от эпидемии, вызванной Архиличом, поход в Драконьи Горы с непременной целью обчистить сокровищницу жадных рептилий, и охота на Царя Зверей - редкого монстра, победа над которым просто обязана принести удачливому охотнику не только славу, но и безбедную старость. Недолго думая, я решил отправиться в Чумной Город.
И первое мое впечатление было - полнейший отвал. Буквально за пару сражений в первой же локации зараженного поселения меня уработала банда жирных зомбарей. Какой там говорить о прохождении до босса, если ты еле-еле отбиваешься от обычных мобов. "Может, класс не тот?" - думаю я, полностью уверенный в своих силах. Ну как так - я же эти баттлеры как орешки щелкаю. Беру новый класс - результат тот же. Еще один. Еще. Все в ноль. Раз за разом меня стабильно ставят на место, показывая что "Ничего-то ты не знаешь, Джон Сноу". Потратив несколько часов в бесплотных попытках продвинуться хоть куда-то, в итоге со злости удаляю игру ко всем chertyam, мысленно уверенный, что там явно какие-то баги и дисбаланс.
Но я был бы не я, если бы просто так сдался. Спустя время устанавливаю игру заново. Возвращаюсь с новыми силами, и осознанием того, что буду хорошо продумывать каждый шаг, взвешивать возможные действия врага и выстраивать путь к победе аккуратно и без спешки. Воин, маг и разбойник насмешливо ржут в голосину, пока я в очередной раз сливаю битву за битвой, и тут мой взор падает на стрелка, aka рейнджера. В отличие от прочих классов, последний в основе своего успеха имеет большой арсенал умений, позволяющих держать врага на расстоянии и постепенно отстреливать противников до того, как они успеют к вам подойти. Сыграв пару партий, я и заметить не успел, как прошел первого босса, затем второго, третьего... Не скажу, что дело пошло как по маслу - в определенный момент я все равно застопорился, однако за прохождение каждого квартала в Чумном Городе увеличивался мой кард-пул. который в игре представлен в виде снаряжения. Иными словами, за победу над каждым боссом нам дают какой-то новый предмет инвентаря, который либо дает нам новые карты для колоды, либо усиливает возможности уже имеющихся. И чем больше уровней ты проходишь, тем шире становится твой арсенал возможностей.
Однако, даже играя за рейнджера в какой-то момент я наткнулся на мертвый затык в виде имбового Дракона в пещерах. Сколько бы я с ним не мордовался, победить так и не удалось. Набравшись достаточно опыта и набив руку, я решил с новыми силами опробовать другой класс, именно тот, на который я был нацелен изначально. Избрав стезю мага, я медленно но верно пошел к победе, сначала зачистив Чумной Город (в результате чего мне открылся доступ к подклассу Лич), а затем обратив всю мощь своих темных сил против оставшихся противников, досаждавших мне прежде. В итоге, на исходе 77 часа игры последний оплот противников пал под моим натиском, и с чувством полнейшего собственного превосходства я заскринил все свои победы.
[u] [b] ๑۩۩๑ ЛОЖКА ДЕГТЯ, КОТОРАЯ МНЕ НЕ ПОМЕШАЛА ๑۩۩๑ [/b] [/u]
Как частенько говорят в России, "встречают по одежке". И первое впечатление, которое может произвести Card Quest, если смотреть на игру со страницы Steam, далеко не всех воодушевит на покупку и желание попробовать. Действительно, имея в своем распоряжении достаточно скудный набор ресурсов, инди-разработчики решили полностью сконцентрироваться на механике и игровом процессе, попросту говоря забив болт на графическую составляющую. К слову, музыка в игре также была взята из открытых источников, однако вписалась в общую канву весьма неплохо. И знаете что? Это вот как раз тот случай, когда я готов абсолютно всецело поддержать разработчиков и забить на графику вместе с ними, ибо свой замысел по части игрового процесса WinterSpring Games воплотили с лихвой (хотя сами разрабы где-то писали что у них имелось еще немало планов в загашнике).

+/- Игра сложная. Нет, не так. Игра, mat' vashu, реально СЛОЖНАЯ. Готовьтесь подгорать на каждом шагу.

Полное прохождение Card Quest заняло у меня чуть менее 78 часов. Семьдесят восемь часов преодоления себя, после которых мне просто море по колено в любой из игр жанра. Серьезно - я буквально за пару дней как закончил Card Quest "проглотил" без особых проблем еще с полдюжины её соседей по жанру, вообще без особых усилий, "на расслабоне". Если любите сложный и вдумчивый геймплей, не боитесь поражений и трудностей и при этом простенькая графика на скринах вас не отталкивает - смело вперед. Чумной Город сам себя не спасёт!

So this is like Slay the Spire meets Darksouls, every encounter is more like a puzzle in it's own right. It still stands out as unique to this day, highly recommend giving it a shot

I don't think I have played a game where the tutorials are more frustrating than the game. The game is just fair. Card Hunter is a better take on the genre - and it's free to play.

Good ♥♥♥♥. I love the variety of play styles the card sets and classes provide, as well as the simple art style. If you love deck builders, this one is totally worth your time.
Very tough game requiring you to think several steps ahead and make the most of every single move. Many different zones with a huge variety of enemies and 4 classes to play, each with a great variety of weapons and equipment (basically alterations to your deck of cards), resulting in many ways to approach each level.
Worth it at full price, borderline criminal not to pick it up on a sale.

I have to be honest, at first I thought this game was too hard. Kept dying on each run. But each time I played I collected more perks and powerups that made my character a little more powerful each time. It felt like I was naturally getting stronger in the game and it soon began to draw me in.
And just as the early game starts to get tedious, you unlock the ability to start further into a quest. Eventually you get items that let you start even further. And each time you are given the appropriate amount of XP to start later. I personally think this is a must for any rouge-like.

I'm Slay The Spire fan with 590 hours. Card Quest is my new favourite game. Very complex, big challenge, deep tactics, replayable as hell. I can recommend it for all card battler fans!
我觉得挺好玩的。玩了200个小时，终于全成就了，起码是挺耐玩的吧。成就也不故意恶心人，除了拿一些所谓的隐藏道具之外都是流程内就能完成的。说白了我几乎等于通关花了200小时，着实是有点菜了。知名度不高可能是因为语言问题吧，有点可惜。
这游戏跟爬塔类的随着游戏进程完善牌库的deck builder不太一样，你开始一局游戏之前你的deck building就已经结束了。除了每场战斗敌人配置不太一样之外，前进的路线是自己选的的，总体可能出现的敌人也是在一定范围内已知的。所以更加考验对游戏的了解和真正打牌的实力吧。玩起来节奏也不太一样，至少我个人玩的重点是将资源循环滚动起来，尽可能快的无伤结束战斗。
画风这玩意比较挑人，我是觉得蠢萌蠢萌的还挺有意思的。
美中不足的点就是游戏平衡性有点问题，每个职业都有不同的子职业和武器，道具等等。这些职业、武器、道具分别会为你提供由若干张牌组成的预设牌组，玩家就是通过选择携带的上述牌组组成自己最终的牌库（游戏中是不变的）。随着游玩过程，玩家通过完成关卡解锁更多的上述内容，完善牌组。哇有些道具和武器是真的下水道，有些就强到闭着眼玩都能赢。现在全成就了之后我就在尝试使用一些之前不会玩的卡组，简直就是自己给自己喂屎吃。
总体来说还是推荐试一下的，英语什么的都是纸老虎。我看游戏内的文本估计作者也不是英语母语的人，有些地方写的奇了八怪的。一共也没几个很难的词儿，没必要因为这个放弃尝试。
Don't get me wrong, Card Quest isn't a bad game. It just doesn't do nearly enough to push itself beyond the masses of other games filling the now mainstream "card-playing roguelike" genre. Think of like a very simplified, 8-bit graphic version of Slay the Spire and you have the idea. The talismans, bonuses, and enemies were all serviceable but felt very uninspired. I would say okay to pick up in a indie bundle but don't recommend a direct purchase

Honestly one of my favorite games on Steam. I love collect-a-thons so collecting every item from every area for every class is like crack for me. It provides so many different ways of loading out for a run that the replay value is near endless. Thanks for the awesome game.
Good game, but animations are too slow and there is no way to speed them up.
Animations take like 50% of the gameplay time for me - that is waaaaaaaay too long.
Don't be fooled by simple graphics of this great game! It is sooo deep with so much customisation of your playing deck and with really great feeling of difference of each character you are playing!
One of the strongest card roguelike game I played!
This is an amazing game, a true hidden gem.
It is a sort of rogue-like dungeon crawler mixed with card-battling mechanics. Instead of putting together a deck card by card, you instead have to equip different weapons, each of which gives a different set of cards. Those you can mix and max together to make a build to tackle an objective with. There a are four classes to pick from, each of which has a very varied and extremely flavorful loudout. Not all of them are balanced, and there are much stronger classes than others. The game is not easy, either, and getting to the last bosses can take a while.
Flavor is one of the things I love most about this game. A lot of thought was put into the mechanics to simulate what each class would realistically be able to do from a fantasy standpoint. The rogue would stay hidden and attack unsuspecting targets one by one, poisoning them, the hunter has to worry about running out of arrows and reloading, while also running away and disengaging to fight enemies at a distance, or even make a sniper's nest, if that's your build. Mages would either spend their energy on spells, running out of it if they're thunder-element, or maybe over-heating if they're fire, or summoning a horde of undead to assist them, if they're necromancer, and that's just the purist builds. You can truly mix and match whatever you need.
Your reward for being a purist, and following an iconic build is unlocking subclasses. It is really hard, if satisfying to pull off, since while some mechanics are designed to work with one another, they are sadly not all that effective to their intended purpose, and you can have much better luck mixing weapons and styles depending on what enemy you want to fight.
It is a very light, inexpensive, and fun jewel of a game to discover, though. I would say that you have to give it a try.
Card Quest is an unusual 2D retro pixel lightweight RPG with card based combat and equally lightweight deckbuilding. It's similar to the vastly successful Slay The Spire deckbuilder, but never attained the same level of success despite being a couple of years older. Regardless, the concept works and has worked well for games other than this. One of the chief critcisms is the lack of ability to customise the deck during a "run", which makes the game very dry even for a deckbuilder. I think while that has proven to be a problem, experience shows that in general a lazy/poor quality technical implementation will deter gamers, who will often make a purchase decision based on a single screen shot, and when they see 2D pixelcrap, they swipe left at supersonic speeds.
From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.
A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result.
There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics.
Problematically, the user interface for this game is just a 2D text heavy panel with a few static images... it might as well be a browser game. And we all know, Steam isn't here to compete with Chrome and Firefox. If the game can be done in a web browser, it's just not rich or compelling enough to appeal to serious gamers.
These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.
Card Quest didn't appeal much to the people who own a copy of the game, either. It has achievments, and they show us a very clear picture that the game didn't really capture any interest from gamers. The most commonly and easily attained achievement is "Doomsday Specials" which you get from buying an item from the town shop, and only around 33 percent of players bothered to get that far before uninstalling the game, only a third of the players. Hardly a success story, gamers just weren't all that interested in the game.
Card Quest has a laughable, eye watering price of $10 USD, for which you could easily get any number of older AAA games (including Slay the Spire), let alone the sheer number of free games available on Steam. Given the defects and shortcomings, it's impossible to recommend this.
I can't seem to make progress in the game. Try as I might, after about the third area in any episode, the enemies get too numerous or too strong to take out. There doesn't seem to be a way to overcome this obstacle. After 22 hours and I never reached past the third area in any episode, that's kinda the game's failing.
Warning. Difficlutch. that being said its about incremental success. clear a portion of the dungeon. get a item use that item in a different dungeon. find success get new items take them to the next dungeon and keep going eventually you'll clear a dungeon.

Just very poorly designed for the end user.
Lets start with the opening menu. You see 4 faces. They are classes. But they're not all the classes like you may think, no, they're just the basic ones. They have 3 keys, a goblet, some items and x / y. What does any of this mean? Items aside, I haven't a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ clue. The game doesn't tell you,
You can pick 3 maps. City of the dead, dwarves or forest. Which is easy? Which is hard? How do they differ meaningfully at all, aside from enemies looking different? No idea. Game doesn't tell you.
Now lets say you want to try the other classes, the 'subclasses'. How do you do this? Go into equipment>Your character>Click their face. You are highly unlikely to do this if not told, there's no indication the face is interactable unless you mouse over it. You then see requirements and a basic overview. Note that the default characters, the ones you have to play when starting, have no such overview. They have a poorly made tutorial, but no quick summary. Usually these are unlocked by beating 100% of an area with very specific gear. Which you don't have. So how do you get it? Beating bosses, tutorial and level threshholds. Can't reach beat first boss, therefore can't reach level 4, the first to unlock anything? Too bad. No other way to get stronger, at all. Also can't heal if you can't do this; the only form of healing are shopping or beating the boss.
But lets start with a tutorial. Wizard. 3 attack lessons, 1 defense, 1 attack. "Your final test, survive x turns with no damage". Why is my final test defense, when you spent 4 times as long teaching me offense? But you do this. And then you have to beat a boss. In the tutorial. Who is stronger than the first boss you likely can't reach outside the tutorial. What?
???
Its baffling.
But you have to do this to get the mana pearl, an item wiz can use for + to 2 resources on use and + to his most important on spawn. No other way to get this power boost to your main run than to beat his entire tutorial + boss.
Why?
A very good deck builder, simple yet callenging. You do not want to waste any resource, because it is unforgiving. I like it a lot.
Gra jest naprawdę ciekawa i widać, że twórcy starali się dostarczyć dobrą rozrywkę ale minęli się nieco z poziomem trudności / udogodnieniami dla graczy. Grając w grę tego typu, nie mam nic przeciwko byciu wystawionym na próbę, zmuszonym do obmyślania strategii, rozwiązań, dobierania odpowiednich narzędzi do nowych wyzwań ale gra tutaj wiele rzeczy niepotrzebnie utrudnia do punktu w którym przestaje czerpać jakąkolwiek satysfakcję z rozrywki, a czuje jakbym wykonywał rutynę która pozwoli mi spróbować po raz kolejny swoich sił w starciu z ostatecznym przeciwnikiem.
Ekwiupunek, który wybieramy podczas startu rozgrywki nie może być zmieniony przed kolejnym starciem/grupą starć. Jeśli wybierzesz nieodpowiedni zestaw ekwipunku, możesz zagrać bezbłędnie, a i tak przegrasz.
Chcąc ponownie walczyć z wrogiem na którego poległeś musisz nie tylko przejść wszystkie etapy poziomu (5 różnych starć) ale także przejść poprzednie poziomy. Wyjątkiem jest odblokowanie trzech kluczy, wtedy masz możliwość startu od czwartego poziomu. Mimo to przechodzenie tych samych plansz jest cholernie uciążliwe i czasochłonne. Uważam, że gracz powinien mieć możliwość startu tam gdzie poległ, ewentualnie poziom przed tym miejscem, a nie być zmuszonym do godziny rozgrywki która jest tylko stratą czasu i formalnością.
Dla mnie te dwie rzeczy sprawiają, ze po nie wiem, 20 godzinach gry nie jestem już w stanie więcej się starać i próbować pokonać te same przeszkody żeby znów dotrzeć do ostatecznego przeciwnika i przegrać z nim ze względu na to, że mój ekwipunek jest nieodpowiedni lub dostałem słabe karty na start oraz po mulliganie.
Nie polecam gry, jest zbyt frustrująca, a umiejętności jakie możecie pokazać są bardzo ograniczone. Lepiej pocisnąć kolejną rundkę w Slay The Spire czy Monster Train.
Recommend with reservations because it's unique and embodies many vital aspects of the genre but also falls short in some:
Pros:
+ wide variety of content and builds
+ unique equipment card systems, lots of synergies that work
+ varied enemies and areas that have their own theme and is very creative in this aspect
Cons
- builds are far from balanced, some are high risk, high reward but others are high risk, no reward. Even with a strong understanding of the mechnics, some decks really just suck while others are really strong, regardless of complexity.
- very item reliant builds, forces you to stick to a certain build in order to unlock other items for other builds
- can get really repetitive and grindy after a while, understandable but there's no speed up and it's exact same paths / enemies each time.
- some Boss fights are unfair, especially with the low margin of error required to win
Overall still really enjoyed and will continue playing but I wish there was more balancing as playing this eventually feels frustrating and exhausting at times.

この手のゲームで有名な Slay the Spire(StS) がありますが、それと違った趣がありとても面白いです。
こちらは、新しい装備がアンロックされなければ初めに決めたデッキで戦い続けます。
自分の決めたデッキや戦術で戦い続けたいと思うならばStSより合うかもしれません。
このジャンルは、カードの使い方を覚えないと難しいのですが、慣れてしまえば難易度は低い方だと思います。
ただ、チュートリアルも兼ねているトレーニング自体がなかなか苦戦するレベルです。
クリアすると装備を貰えるのと、やはり基本戦術を教えてくれるのでしっかりとやっておくべきですが。
トレーニングやってみて合わないと思ったら返品するのもありかもしれないです。
特徴的なシステムにチェインがあります。
カードを連続で使うと、チェインが発生しメリットとデメリットが発生します。
デメリットもあるので、チェインを切るカードを使ってチェインを繋げたり切ったりする必要があります。
基本的にチェインが発生するとカードをドローできるので、チェインを繋げると手札が良く回ります。
手札を回してエナジーを回復させるためには、防御カードも上手く使う必要があったりします。
そのため、ボス戦では、周りの雑魚を残して防御カードのチェインを発生させるのも戦術として有効なようです。
調子よく戦っていたのにエナジー切れでチェインがつながらなくなり一気に死亡なんて事もあります。
グラフィックとかUIが洗練されていたらもっと有名になったのかなとも思います。
このジャンルのゲームは、やってみると面白いというのは案外多いのかもしれませんし、自分自身ごく一部しか遊べていないので参考にもならないかもしれませんが。

開始時に選べるキャラクターは、4種類です。
- ローグ
- ウィザード
- ファイター
- アーチャー
それぞれサブクラスが2～3つあります。
合計で15種類はあります。
ただ、サブクラスは、冒険を始める前に顔をクリックしないと切り替えられないので、見つけづらい気がします。

デッキは、装備で決まります。
新しい装備がアンロックされるとその時点で切り替えられるのですが、それ以外は固定で戦います。
アンロックされた装備は、次回から選ぶことが出来ます。
一部の弱い武器は、上書きされてしまうのですが、残しておいても良かったのではと思います。
[h2] ### レベルアップ [/h2]
レベルアップすると、HPやエナジーを増やしたり、防御力を上げるなどのパークが得られます。
自分のデッキにあったパークを選ぶと強力になります。
[h2] ### リソース [/h2]
カードを使うには、基本的にエナジーを消費します。
一部のカードはエナジー以外の追加リソースが必要です。
しっかりと管理しないとカードが全く使えなくなったりします。
追加リソースを消費してエナジーを回復したり、エナジーを消費して追加リソースを回復するみたいに双方が良く回ってこそ行動できるキャラもいます。
[h2] ### 距離 [/h2]
距離の概念もあります。
近距離攻撃は、遠くの敵を攻撃できません。
そのため、遠距離攻撃できるならば離れて戦った方がダメージを抑えられたりします。
遠距離攻撃は、離れていても攻撃できますが、追加リソースが必要なようです。
敵によっては、
- 近距離攻撃するとダメージを受ける
- こちらから離れて遠距離攻撃をする
みたいなものもいます。
