It's a Break Out game. Not much to really say. Pretty fun though.

Although I would recommend getting this game during a sale rather than at full price. $10 is a bit too much for a game everyone and their grandmother have played a clone of at some point in time... Especially when some of those other clones are free.

My only real comment isn't even really about the game but were the devs just on a cruelty campaign with the music and sound effects not having volume switches?!

I mean, I love me some blastin' -2 DB as much as the next person, but for the love of everything, and the mass majority of damaged ear drums to come...

please let us atleast lower the music and sfx...really a buzz kill to play this without music or sound, I feel like Charlie Chaplin meets Ping Pong...

I paid 99 cents for Brick Breaker so i cant complain. There's actually nothing to complain about Its exactly what's shown & I've had 0 problems. The responsiveness people are complaining about is the mouse. Not sure why the mouse movement is buggy but just use the Arrow keys, they work perfectly fine. Id recommend this game but wouldn't pay more than $3 max! 99 cents is a great deal!

En l’an de grâce où les machines à vapeur dominent encore l’esprit humain, me voilà confronté à un prodige des temps futurs. Devant moi s’étend un firmament rectangulaire — car oui, la Terre n’est point ronde ici, mais plate et obéissante, glissant de gauche à droite selon ma volonté.

Dans ce ciel artificiel danse un minuscule soleil, vif et capricieux, rebondissant avec une ardeur presque divine contre des briques célestes suspendues dans l’éther. Ma mission ? Calculer, tel un savant désespéré, la trajectoire de cet astre instable afin d’éviter l’anéantissement du monde.

Hélas ! Plus ce soleil accélère, plus les lois de la raison semblent s’effondrer. Les angles deviennent imprévisibles, le chaos menace, et mes calculs — pourtant précis — sont mis à rude épreuve.

Pour guider cette Terre plate, on me confie un artefact étrange : un objet à bouton nommé « souris », qui, malgré son appellation, ne grignote point de fromage mais déplace la réalité elle-même. Quelle sorcellerie !

Un jeu simple en apparence, mais qui défie l’esprit lorsque la vitesse croît et que la lumière explose en mille éclats, rendant l’observation du petit soleil parfois… périlleuse.

Reading the complaints about Brick Breaker, you'd think that the main problems are visual effects and clunky physics. Although some of it is justifiable, what drags the game down in my opinion is something entirely different.

One of the best looking brick-breaker out there, the aptly named "Brick Breaker" does have a lot of visual noise, no doubt about it. However, you'll rarely lose your ball because of it, as it's usually very manageable.
The controls breaking and becoming unresponsive in the menus is a little less excusable, but by juggling between controller and keyboard, you can make it work most of the time. At least enough to get into the game, which is where the actual fun lies.

Once you start playing, the controls feel good and the constant ball acceleration quickly becomes a real challenge. I still don't understand why recent brick-breaker games insist on keeping track of how far you go off-screen, making the way back awkward (I'd rather fall off my mousepad, that'd make more sense), but you'll have to adjust and be a little more delicate in your movements.
Thanks to rather inventive levels, classic and negative power-ups as well as shiny colors, you'll probably start having a good time and maybe think about forgiving the game's small issues. That is, until level 35 rears its ugly head and takes your fun away.

Level 35 is the first actual hard level and combines difficulty, an annoying start, and the main problem of the game : a negative power-up that's buggy. Poorly coded, the one supposed to invert your controls locks your paddle to the side instead, which usually means death. You can either take the loss or try to dodge it when there's enough room, but it's extremely frustrating when you don't have lives to spare.
I'll also complain that many of the later levels rely on lucky bounces, so you're stuck twiddling your thumbs for extended periods of time.

Yet, with a gameplay that's satisfying, a hundred levels to beat and a difficulty that I found appreciable, you can have fun with Brick Breaker. I wish everything was working as intended, but the issues don't make the game unplayable.
I'll keep it positive with a [b] 5[/b]. If you're simply looking for a brick breaker, this could be enough. I'd break those bricks again !

I bought this game for $1 and it was still too much. Horrible performance, uninteresting levels and no way to really set the system to your preferences (you can setup your own button commands but it still feels like ass to play). The only reason I'm not getting a refund is that the bank fee would be more than what I paid.

WARNING: For achievement hunters, it's IMPOSSIBLE to 100% this game.

Lvl 60's 3-start requirement is mathematically impossible, even with the godliest of shots (By that I mean, breaking every block in one single shot, without the ball ever hitting the paddle).

I have added and contacted the dev in another game of his to see if something can be done for this, but as of this review, the game cannot be completed fully.

- Paddle has ice physics and is way to fast at times
- Ball has annoying physics, slams down in some angles and goes down way to slow in others
- Score system is messed up, you either get 300% of the 3 star score or 5% of it
- forces you to save your score after every level which becomes very annoying after level 5
- Looks ugly

This game is not very good. It has some technical gameplay issues that make it unenjoyable to play. For one, they have it where the paddle is constantly moving a little bit back and forth whether or not you are moving it with the controls. This alone basically ruins the game, but it is not the only issue. The speed of the paddle is unwieldy and will either launch to the other side of the screen when you move your mouse or will lag behind after you move which basically guarantees that you will not get very far in the game due to game issues. There is also an issue with the edges of the paddle. When the ball hits the edge of the paddle it will smack the ball in a DOWNWARD direction and basically kill you. In all, the game is currently too low of quality to be worth playing. =

- Frustrating level design in many levels that either waste your time or are deliberately made to expend lives (with lazy overabundance of bad blocks).

- Visual effects that obscure the ball position.

- Zero indication when bad powerups end, especially frustrating with reverse controls.

- Mouse controls have slower travel speed than using keyboard to move the paddle.

- When you grab a Multiball powerup while holding the ball with Magnet, no extra balls will spawn.

- Weirdly hard to move the paddle when it's touching the wall. Easily causes some preventable deaths.

- Frustrating "ritual" after every finished level. Click whether you want to upload your score, forces you to write a name, click, then click again to continue to next level. Every time doing it is a chore.

The game could be made even better with some patches. Alas. The graphics are fun though and option to customize your controls are good (when most arkanoids don't offer it). It's good enough for casual playthrough, although I'd recommend instead other titles.

Il y a des tonnes de casse-briques et celui-ci ne fait pas mieux que les autres, mais il fait quand même les choses d’une façon plutôt correcte. Particulier à la souris, je recommande une manette si vous ne voulez pas devenir fou ! La musique devient vite agaçante, mais moins que les effets sonores que j’ai coupé au bout de 10 minutes. L’aspect visuel manque cruellement de personnalité mais c’est chaud et coloré alors ça passe. Dans un premier temps et jusqu’au niveau 35, le jeu ne prend aucun risque, la suite se révèle intéressante et plutôt amusante surtout concernant les malus. 100 niveaux, deux modes et un multijoueur local étonnamment bien pensé ! Pas de bugs d’aucune sorte en vue. Idéale pour faire découvrir le genre, les amateurs y trouverons aussi leur compte notamment grâce au système de combo plaisant. En somme, c’est ni bon ni mauvais et très probablement que vous y prendrez du plaisir sur quelques heures. Un peu cher pour ce qu’il propose, je recommande d’attendre un belle promo.

I am 32 years old.

My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.

When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.

Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.

With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.

After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.

Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.

Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.

Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

This game makes so many mistakes for being a simple Breakout style vidya that it's almost unbelievable.
1) The paddle has a top speed, meaning no matter how fast you move your mouse, the paddle has to catch up with the mouse. This makes fast twitch reaction gaming IMPOSSIBLE. It's absurd that this would ever be a thing for a brickbreaker on PC. To make things EVEN WORSE, tho, the paddle is controlled by where the hidden mouse cursor is on the screen. This may not make sense, but basically if you go too far right or left with your mouse, the hidden cursor will move outside of the paddle's play area, which means before the paddle can move back left or right, respectively, the mouse must be moved back into the paddle's play area. What this means in plain English is the paddle will be all the way to the right, so you move your mouse just slightly left so it can return the ball, only to have your paddle not move at all, because the hidden cursor is still outside the play area. So many lives lost due to the paddle simple not moving despite moving the mouse. It's insanity, and it almost feels as if this game is some kind of psyop to gaslight players or something.
2) Because of 1), you'd think that the ball would just bounce slower to compensate for a lack of an old style paddle control with precision response. Nope, just as fast as ever, even with the hampered speed.
3) Whenever you accrue points, fancy flashy things go from the broken bricks and travel to your score counter, and when you break more than one brick with a single paddle smack, it becomes a combo, and the fancy flash things build on each other and get progressively fancier and flashier. I cannot tell you how many MOTHER EFFING lives I've lost just because the screen was filled with nothing but flash fancy effect which I'm sure are amazing for the average 7 year old to behold. Here's another thing: YOU CANNOT TURN THEM OFF!!!
4) All of the above points lend themselves to this one: no freeplay options. This isn't a friggin AAA game. I just want to relax and play some effing Breakout without having to worry about lives. I don't care about score, I just want to peacefully ping-pong the ball back and forth and break the bricks. The fact that the first 3 points are so devastating to one's play performance makes point 4 completely unforgivable.
5) The paddle and wall ricochets make no sense a lot of the times. I've seen a ball bounce at a sharp left/right and upper angle off my paddle only to smack the vertical wall and change trajectory for no discernible reason. You can't put English on the ball like in pong, least not so far as I can tell, yet you'd think that was the case sometimes. The paddle also doesn't return the ball as you'd expect it to if you're used to Arkanoid on NES and SNES, such as the ball bouncing at specific angles based on the contact point of the paddle. Nope, in this one the paddle acts more like a triangular wedge, despite being flat, where the angle the ball comes in at combined with where the paddle strikes it determines it's return trajectory. This becomes most annoying when the ball hits the outer most left/right edge of the paddle, which causes the ball to bounce DOWNWARD into a lost life. Again, this wouldn't be SO bad if it weren't for the paddle having a speed cap.

There are more problems, but that's enough. Dev/s, fix this mother effing ess, please, for the love of all that is Holy.

Casse Briques d'apparence simple mais au final on y retourne volontiers pour des parties de 10-15 minutes (par jour). Le seul élément négatif est que pour le pouvoir de coller la balle, on ne puisse véritablement pas viser en fonction du placement de la balle sur le rectangle que vous dirigez, par contre la direction est présente en jeu quand la balle rebondit.

Sinon, tous les pouvoirs spéciaux, que ce soit sur votre rectangle, la balle ou l'environnement, sont présents.

Da gibt es eine Reihe von besseren Breakout-Spielen. Seltsam finde ich den Grafikstil - einerseits zu "flashy", andererseits zu dröge und phantasielos. Die aus anderen Breakout-Spielen bekannten Extras (mehrere Bälle, größerer Schläger, Feuerbälle etc.) sind zu selten. Immer die gleiche Musik. Aber das Wesentliche: Es machte mir einfach wenig (ich will nicht sagen keinen) Spaß.

- Ужасное решение сделать вылетающие цифры из блоков, там и так эффекты лишние, зачем там вообще цифры еще нужны, шар порою просто напрочь теряешь из виду.
- Ракетка странно себя ведет, на быстрые движения влево, вправо она отстает, но привыкнуть можно.
- Как и в Тетрисе от них, тут та же самая бесячая мелодия. В уши тому музыканту навалить, как он мне!
+ Есть разные режимы и мультиплеер.

В целом в этот Арканоид поиграть можно, но не по полной стоимости, как и в их Тетрис.

This game was pretty fun and casual, however once you hit level 35 the implementation of "reverse" controls from the negative power ups is pretty rough. Instead of simply inverting the controls, you are either moving completely left or completely right with no actual inverted control. There isn't a "challenge" from this, you are either luck because the ball hits one corner or the other due to your limited span of control

- Effets lumineux qui cachent la balle (c'est ainsi que j'ai perdu le plus de vie)
- La hitbox de la barre est foireuse sur les bords
- Manque d'options (réglage son/sensibilité)

Не понравилась противное звонкое звуковое сопровождение в игре, от которого начинает голова болеть. А еще при каждом касании шара чего либо разлетаются какие то отвлекающие частицы. От этого начинает в глазах мельтешить. Графика также оставляет желать лучшего. Видали на порядок красивее арканойды.

"Brick Breaker" bedient sich eines klassischen Arcade-Game-Spielprinzips ala "Arkanoid" (was jüngst einen neuen Teil nach Jahrzehnten spendiert bekam) oder Titel mit ähnlicher Spielmeachanik. Aber nach ca. 4 Stunden Spielzeit kann ich behaupten, dass "Brick Breaker" kein guter Vertreter des Genres ist, denn zu lange sind die Level zu Eintönig und Dröge, da diese keinerlei Besonderheiten aufweisen, auch Power-Ups werden zu spät eingeführt und sind teils auch zu selten vertreten.

Technisch ist es allemal Zweckdienlich, was auch für die Grafik und Musik gilt.
Jetzt kommen wir schließlich zum großen Negativ-Knackpunkt: Die Steuerung - Denn diese ist gelinde Ausgedrückt ein Graus. Spielt man mit der Maus, kommt der untere Balken den man Steuert nicht schnell genug hinter her oder schießt in der Bewegung übers Ziel hinaus und man verpasst den Spielball und verliert dementsprechend ein Leben und die Motivation weiter zu spielen. Mit der Tastatur sieht die ganze Sache nur Minimal besser aus, hier reagiert der Balken bzw. der Schläger viel zu Ruckartig und selbst leichtes Tasten antippen bringt den Balken dazu sich zu stark/viel zu bewegen und man landet des öfteren da wo man gar nicht sein will.

Das Alles zusammen macht "Brick Breaker" zu keinen besonders guten Zeitvertreib aber nach kann über 20 Level (von 100) hat mich dann die Motiviation dann endgültig verlassen, da mir dafür dann doch meine Zeit zu Schade ist.
Es gibt zwar noch einen Überlebens-Modus aber der ist auch nicht die Rede wert.

Wie gesagt, ich habe es Versucht, aber das Game konnte mich mit seinen Drögen Level-Design und der Miesen Steuerung nicht bei der Stange halten.

Wer Bock auf Spiele mit dieser Arkanoid-Spielmechanik hat, kauft sich ggf. dann genau dieses oder einen besseren Genre-Vertreter, statt "Brick Breaker".

Fazit: Hiermit empfehle ich dieses Spiel NICHT!
PS.: Es sei denn ihr bekommt es Geschenkt oder zahlt nicht mehr wie 1€...dann könnte man ein, zwei Augen zudrücken, aber wie lange es den "Spielspaß" Wert ist, steht auf einen anderen Blatt...

セール時９８円にて購入、途中までしかプレイしてないがおそらく100ステージくらいある。
ルールは普通のよくあるブロック壊しと同じバーでボールを弾きブロックを全部消したらクリア、お助けアイテム（ライフ+1、玉分裂など）などは一応あるが「？」のブロックがあるのでそれを壊すと落ちてくる仕様。
「GOOD」
・ビジュアルとBGMがお洒落　
「BAD」
・このゲームはブロックを壊すと演出で光が飛び散る仕様なのだが眩しすぎて自玉を見失う事が多々ある
・マウスを左右に動かしバーを操作するのだが（キーボードでも操作可能）たまにマウスの動きに遅れて移動したり、マウスを止めたのにバーが動いたりと動作に不安なところがある、（自分のPC環境のせいかもしれないが）
・バーとブロックの距離が近いステージが多すぎる
・ブロックを一定数壊すとBGMのテンポと自玉のスピードがUPし盛り上げてくれるのはいいが、このせいでミスしやすくなる

Breakout games are one of the simplest arcade sub-genres, which is why there are only main three pillars that create the very basis of a good breakout:
- good physics of the ball and paddle
- good visibility of the ball
- no input lag

Brick Breaker fails to do any of these right. I could talk about all the secondary stuff like scoring system, visuals, power-ups and so on but it really doesn't make any difference as the game is already flawed in it's essential parts.

There is plethora of better breakouts on Steam, look elsewhere for a good one.

This is a par-for-the-course breakout game. It leverages some of the basic powerups that we first saw waaaayyy back in the day when the first Arkanoid game was released in the arcade...and that's about it. It doesn't introduce any new twist or concept of any kind. It's like someone read a basic manual on what a breakout game entails and just created that in a paint-by-the-numbers kind of way. Zero imagination went into this game.

The game looks good enough, but even that starts to become a problem. And it's a problem because it's apparent that the graphics were where the devs spent most of their time, and not on the gameplay itself (more on that in a minute). They've activated so many particle effects, almost all of which are the exact same color as the ball (except flashing/glowing), that it's often nearly impossible to see the ball and track where it's going (and last time I checked, that's the point of the game).

The paddle moves like it's stuck in the mud and will visibly lag long after you've moved the mouse. I have no idea why this would behave this way, as this should be an incredibly simple control model. It's like the controls are the very last thing in the game loop code (when they should be the first). I just can't fathom what rookie mistake was made -- and then approved as being acceptable to release this game to production -- that causes this poor of performance. And, just FYI, it's not my hardware. This is a simple little 2D game, and I'm running it on a 2950X Threadripper 2 with an EVGA 3090ti. I can run Cyberpunk 2077 on max details in 4K and this tower won't even shrug. So, it's very clear that there is bad code here.

Beyond that, the level design is just boring and grindy. To create a more "advanced" level, the author just makes almost all of the bricks the multi-hit ones, meaning that you'll have to hit each one 4-5 times. Oh, and it'll just be something like a few columns or even one giant mass of bricks, which means that clearing this out takes forever. That's not something that makes a breakout game fun. It's unimaginative and terribly dull. I found that I was forcing myself to play another level just to power through this thing, which is never a good sign.

So, between the terrible control response (which basically renders a game like this nearly unplayable), irritating visual effects, boring level design, and lack of introducing any new features or concepts, it just makes this a bad breakout game. I've been playing breakout games for a solid 40 years, and for a game in this price category, this one has the least amount of effort put into it (outside of the graphics) that I've seen. It feels like Nacon only published this to check the box on their list that says "we've published a breakout game." No love went into this at all. The only reason to play it is if you're willing to put up with the frustrating controls and pedestrian gameplay long enough to 100% it and bump your stats. I might do that still, but once I do, there will definitely be no reason to come back and play it again...it'll get uninstalled and moved to my forgotten games folder in my library.

There's absolutely no way that I can recommend this game.

Brick Breaker ist ein Geschicklichkeitsspiel von Big Ben. Kenner die den Namen des Produzenten lesen, ahnen sicher was auf sie zukommt. Die Steuerung ist träge und der Schläger bleibt sehr oft für kurze Zeit hängen.
Die übertriebenen Lichteffekte lenken vom der Haupt Aktion ab und machen dadurch das Erkennen des Balles unmöglich. Das solche Vorkommnisse bei einem schnellen Geschicklichkeitsspiel keine idealen Voraussetzung sind merkt auch der wohlwollendste Spieler. Deshalb keine Empfehlung, obwohl ich dem Genre der Ziegel Zerstörer Spiele sicher nicht abgeneigt bin. Bessere Alternativen wären zum Beispiel: DX-Ball 2, Briks 2 oder Breakout Recharged.

I like it for 99 cents. finished arcade and the last 50 levels are very tedious. graphical effects cannot be disabled and will lead to inevitable deaths. Can't imagine anyone finishing survival mode since you start with 5 lives, life pickups are quite limited and random and it would take several hours to complete in one sitting - serious oversight.
Thanks for playing but there are better ball busters out there.
power ups are cool, love the fireball. Balance is strange because some levels can be done in a minute and some may take over an hour.

The main reason I got this game is the pack with all four (Mahjong, Brick Breaker, Solitaire and Tetraminos) were on sale for under $3. With that in mind I will give this 4 stars. If it cost more the score would be lower. For the lifetime price for no ADs it is worth the buy.

The graphics are annoying and distracting, making the game unnecessarily more difficult.

The paddle gets stuck and doesn't respond when you need it to the most. I feel this is done intentionally.

The sound effects are pretty annoying.

I bought it to kill one hour during a winter afternoon but it surpassed my hopes and I intend to finish this game whenever I can.

Its very flashy 80's synthwave vivid colors and animations is a mood lifter. The game is still a bit scarce on power ups and pretty basic but it is still a very high end time killer in its genre. also has online scores and cloud saves that are a big turn on.

Вот сколько было арканоидов ещё в незапамятные времена... Они выходили даже на монохромные старенькие мобильники. Когда-то залипал от безделья в общаге на древней мотороле. Но ведь и на компе их выходило просто несметное количество. Можно было мышкой залипать в свободное от учёбы время. Бонусы сыпались пачками, а на экране творилась форменная феерия.

Так вот Nacon даже этот банальный арканоид не смогли сделать по человечески. В него банально скучно играть. Бонусов нет. А шарик запускается с клавиатуры. Они даже не смогли догадаться сделать пуск шарика на кнопку мыши. Видимо у них мышки вообще безкнопочные... Позор. К тому же за 600 руб или почти 10 долларов уж могли бы постараться. Это всё-таки несколько комплексов в пунктах общепита. Поэтому лучше поесть пару раз, чем тратить деньги на подобное уныние. Да, цвета вроде бы занятны. Но дело в том, что даже на линукс есть бесплатная версия арканоида. Поэтому покупка крайне сомнительна.

Один из лучших арканоидов, что я встречал в стиме. Визуал красивый, выполнен в неоновом стиле. Музыкальное сопровождение бодрое, вполне подходящее под игровой процесс. Управление отзывчивое, можно играть как мышкой, так и клавиатурой.
Всего в игре 100 уровней. И каждый из них проходится индивидуально. То есть, обычно как идёт игра в арканоиде? Вам даётся определённое количество жизней и вы должны с ними пройти всю игру, попутно набирая очки и получая дополнительные жизни. Не справились, нажимаете кнопку продолжить, и начинаете игру с того уровня, на котором проиграли. А прогресс по очкам, естественно, сбрасывается. В этой же версии арканоида, механика игры другая. На каждый уровень вам дают пять жизней и с ними вы должны пройти этот уровень, невзирая на его сложность. Соответственно, на каждом уровне, набираете очки с нуля, делая на каждом из них рекорды. Как-то так)
Так же есть режим выживание. Вы так же проходите уровни. Только вы должны делать это не проиграв все жизни, без возможности продолжить. Цель-пройти подряд как можно больше уровней. А в идеале, все.
Ещё есть режим противостояния на двоих, где вы играете против друг друга на одном экране. Дуэль представляет из себя обычный понг. В одном варианте боретесь на пустом поле, а в другом между вашими досками находятся кирпичи.
В общем, игра вполне годная, способная увлечь не на один час. Только вот ценник неизмеримо завышен. Столько игра точно не стоит. А вот как сейчас, по скидке в 90% (59р.) взять можно. За полный ценник брать точно не рекомендую.

Якби я міг використати слово "хороший", говорячи про цю гру, тільки один раз, я б використав його наступним чином:
"Ця гра - ХОРОШИЙ приклад того, як можна зіпсувати концепцію популярної гри невдалою реалізацією."

Два ключові моменти, які роблять її такою невдалою:
1) візуальні ефекти. Я завжди думав, що візуальні ефекти мають супроводжувати ігровий процес, а не заважати гравцю сприймати його (ну, якщо мова не про якісь негативні ефекти, які супроводжуються затемненням екрану тощо). В цій грі за купою різнокольорових вибухів можна декілька секунд взагалі не бачити ту частину екрану, де знаходиться куля.
2) фізика відбивання кулі (зокрема, від дошки "pad", якою керує гравець). Враховуючи, що зіткнення кулі з дошкою - це єдина частина ігрового процесу, в якій гравець впливає на те, якою буде подальша траекторія кулі, від способу прийому кулі на дошку залежить 2/3 всієї гри. В різних реалізаціях Bricks, на ПК і мобільних телефонах, я бачив різні способи дати гравцю максимальну свободу в маніпуляціях над траекторією кулі. Але настільки дубово, як зроблено тут, я мабуть взагалі не зустрічав, після оригінального "тетрісу", де це пояснювалося дуже малим розміром поля і неможливістю проводити складні обчислення. За великим рахунком, після кожного зіткнення з дошкою, куля може полетіти у випадковому напрямку, який може взагалі ніяк не бути пов'язаний з її попереднім напрямком і точкою зіткнення з дошкою.

Може здатися, що два недоліки - для сучасних ігор не так уже й багато. Але враховуючи, наскільки вони псують враження від ігрового процесу, а також учитуючи, що в цій грі в принципі не так багато різних складових елементів, грати в неї - хіба що 30 хвилин для ностальгії, а потім починаєш задумуватися, нащо було взагалі її купувати.
