Tout d'abord, il est bon de préciser que je n'avais jamais joué à un jeu comme Blue Prince auparavant, et c’est certainement ce qui le rend si marquant à mes yeux.
[h3][b]🎮 Le gameplay[/b][/h3]
Le côté roguelike pousse vraiment à réfléchir à chacune de nos actions. On ne se contente pas de poser une pièce “juste pour avancer” : chaque décision doit être pensée.
Les pièces disponibles sont souvent très limitées (au nombre de une pour la majorité), et le fait de les placer rapidement ou d’attendre peut être décisif. Certaines peuvent également révéler des secrets si elles sont utilisées ou activées d’une manière spécifique.
Les puzzles, casse-têtes et secrets sont particulièrement réussis. J’ai adoré partir à la recherche d’indices, comprendre les mécaniques, et surtout avoir ces moments de révélation où une découverte change complètement notre compréhension du jeu … voire influence totalement nos futures runs.
Le jeu surprend régulièrement, et c’est l’un de ses plus grands points forts.
Cela dit, il met du temps à se mettre en place. On peut longtemps tâtonner avant de trouver quelque chose d’intéressant, et certaines runs enchaînent les impasses. J’ai moi-même ressenti pas mal de frustration : des schémas qui se répètent, des salles qui semblent inutiles à l’intrigue, et parfois un vrai manque de chance dans le tirage des pièces, ce qui peut rendre l’expérience assez lente.
Mais paradoxalement, c’est aussi ce qui fait la force du jeu : lorsqu’une découverte arrive, elle est extrêmement gratifiante. Elle rend tous les essais infructueux presque insignifiants, et procure un vrai sentiment d'accomplissement.
Il met à l’épreuve l’attention aux détails, la minutie, la capacité à faire des liens, la réflexion… mais surtout — et vraiment surtout — la patience.

La direction artistique propose un style visuel unique, “dessiné”, très agréable à parcourir.

Cela dit, mon niveau d’anglais n’est pas excellent et j’ai tout de même réussi à terminer l’intrigue principale et atteindre l’objectif de base (trouver la pièce 46).
En revanche, pour aller plus loin et découvrir tous les contenus secondaires, la barrière de la langue peut devenir bloquante.

Ce jeu aura été une expérience unique qui m'aura fait sortir des types de jeux auxquels je suis habitué.
Le faire en stream m'a permis d'ajouter une dimension supplémentaire à cette découverte que j'ai d'autant plus apprécié.
Si vous êtes amateurs de jeux comme Outer Wilds, alors je ne peux que vous le recommander sans hésiter. Surtout si vous êtes à l’aise en anglais ou prêt à faire quelques efforts.
Après 38h pour atteindre l’objectif principal, je choisis de m’arrêter ici.
Pas par manque d’intérêt, mais parce que le jeu demande une patience et une rigueur que je ne suis pas sûr de vouloir prolonger.
Mais pour ceux qui persévèrent, il reste encore énormément à découvrir.
WOW! Such a huge puzzle game that only seems to get bigger... I will admit that I am not smart enough for some of the in-depth puzzle stuff, but the game definitely accommodates more relaxed players and keeps it fun for hours of play.
Don't try to go for all the trophies in this game, worst mistake ever.

In other words, it is absolutely not for everyone.
If you have lots of spare time on your hands, and literally nothing better to do with it...
If you don't get frustrated by wasted attempts, and you "failing a run" not because of a lack of skill, but because the game said so...
If you enjoy analyzing hidden algorithms and looking for patterns in RNG seeds...
If you like taking notes and writing down potentially meaningless clues and hints...
...then this game might be for you.
Personally, I think that learning to toss a coin so that it lands on it's edge is less frustrating and more fulfilling.
Or I could just play anything else in my extensive backlog.
A wonderful game! I've played it for almost a hundred hours, and I'm reinstalling it on my new computer to play it more.

The random luck element in Blue Prince can be extremely annoying when aiming to solve some of the puzzles, but the roguelike aspect is neat and is something I haven't played in a puzzle game before. The fun I've had playing the game has far outweighed my annoyance when the luck doesn't quite work out

Amazing game, idea, and story, severely hampered by its execution. The puzzles themselves aren't unfair and are usually solvable with what you're given (and if not immediately generally solvable the further you progress the rooms), but the RNG involved results in many hours of knowing the solution, but simply being unable to solve the problem because you can't get the right sequence of rooms, items, etc. Its particularly annoying to have all the items needed and simply get cucked by RNG. There are ways to manipulate the house layout as you progress, but it only mitigates the RNG to a certain extent, it fails to actually mitigate the issue entirely, and its still incredibly annoying as a result. The annoyance is amplified in the extreme by the glacial speed at which everything occurs, from picking up items to solving already solved puzzles to achieve different results. Unlike most roguelikes the "core" gameplay of this game is a walking sim, its not really "fun" in and of itself. The fun of almost all puzzles are usually relegated to the initial few times its encountered, and quickly degrades into exasperation when you've solved the same thing (or variation of it) for the 50th time. Sometimes there are puzzles wherein solving in a different manner allows for a different result/outcome, but this is usually just busy work since you already understand the puzzle, there is not really any fun solving the puzzle again except for whatever might result from the secondary outcome. This is in contrast to most roguelikes, where the core gameplay itself is fun, and thus it isn't a punishment to be sent back to the beginning to start all over, since the journey is part of the fun. Here, the journey is mostly just a slog after the initial resolution, and it just gets in the way of achieving the fun associated with resolving the other threads your currently pursuing. I feel like this could have been mitigated drastically if they had simply allowed the player to draft previously discovered rooms of their choice (e.g., once per day select from all previously discovered rooms after having initially reached room 46), or keep certain items through runs (ones that allow for rerolls for example). The first one is particularly relevant because once you've reached room 46 you've achieved the inheritance of the house (the driving force presented initially by the game!), so it would have made sense to allow something that "powerful" as a result, and allow for the player to continue to solve the unresolved mysteries of the other threads they've discovered along the way to 46. This, along with removing/speeding up certain interaction animations (dig, picking up items, etc.), would make the game much better. As it currently is, I'm simply unwilling to invest the insane amount of time it would require to fully solve the puzzles I know exist (and also generally know how to solve for the most part) but simply require an egregious amount of RNG to accomplish. Would I recommend the game, yes, its still a good game, maybe even great. Its just very frustrating that what could have been an amazing game is relegated to only being good because of a bungled execution.

Hate this game. It seemed really appealing - I love puzzle games. i played 92 days without resolution. The daily reset is a good concept, but far too much of this game resets daily and doesn't persist. Given how many days it takes to reach the antechamber, the antechamber doors should not reset each day. Some puzzles are simply insoluble because the necessary rooms never come up in the rotation. It seems arbitrary what the developers have decided should be persistent and what should reset each day, to the detriment of the game.
Basegame sehr spaßig. Allerdings für gewisse Endgamerätsel muss man sehr komische Zusammenhänge verknüpfen und dann noch krasses RNG haben.
Es stört mich aber eher viele Kleinigkeiten, wie das Aufsetzen von Spielständen. Dies dauert ewig! Vor allem für den Dare-Mode braucht man bis zu 10 min um überhaupt loszulegen (alle Dares aktiv). Ebenfalls werden im Dare-Mode die Dares nicht immer angezeigt, nicht mal bei Zugriff auf die Blueprints, sondern man muss noch einen extra Zettel anklicken in den Blueprints. Die Terminals haben ein komisches Eingabe-Delay, was einem bei schnellerem Spielen sehr stört.
Der Endgame-Content und der Frust mit Dare und Cursed-Mode lassen für mich eher einen negativen Eindruck zurück. Von anfangs 9/10 würde ich im Endeffekt auf eine 7/10 als Gesamterlebnis geben. An sich noch keine negative Bewertung wert, allerdings das Gefühl beim spielen Zeit zu verschwenden lässt einen bitteren Beigeschmack zurück.
The game combines the worst aspects of a walking simulator with a game of chance (a roguelike if you want to call it that), and the result is something that is absolutely disrespectful of the player's time. People talk a lot about the "RNG", but that is not the source of the problem, the random number generator used in this game is just as random as the one used in other games, and randomness is a feature of every game's design except for Tic Tac Toe. It is the choices how that randomness is embedded in the games mechanics that make a game shine or suck.
Tu put it bluntly, that is what you're getting into: In this game you will abandon most days early, some even after 4-5 rooms, because you'll see there is no way continuing this run will gain you anything meaningful, and you hope for better luck on the next day. That is the code design of the game. But if the game's interface forces those 4-5 rooms to take up around 5 minutes, and you mostly won't see or experience anything you haven't seen before in those 5 minutes, that might accumulate to a frustrating experience pretty fast.
Now, if walking around were less tedious and slow, if one could backtrack via the map, and if picking up things and interacting with the environment were more streamlined, the randomness might not be so much of a problem. It's it is obvious from the start that this game is about engaging with the odds of finding good rooms and items, and not so much about exploring the environment, so an interface that favors exploration and holds you back when probing for a fortunate floor plan is simply the wrong choice.
I hear this was a board game first, and I can see how this might have been faster, and ultimately more fun.

For people who enjoy exploration and puzzles in their games, this game is one of the best ever made.
This plays sort of like a time loop, or a non-combative puzzle-filled rogue-lite, of the kind that wants you to learn and improve each and every iteration - and there are tons of things to learn and improve in this game.
This is one of my favorite games ever now, and it's recommended beyond words. This is almost Outer Wilds-tier of experience, and that game IMO is the best one ever made.
One thing though - don't come into it in the mindset that "this run I will solve mystery X no matter what" because rooms and items are drawn randomly and you just might not be able to solve the mystery your mind locked on whenever you feel like it. Always keep an open mind and open eyes - there are tons of things to discover and solve, and even if you won't solve said mystery X this very next run, you'll solve it in the future.

This game is 'Betrayal at House on the Hill,' without the Betrayal or any spooky aspects.
I bought this game because of all the hype around game of the year awards, thinking it would have amazing art direction, story telling, fun areas, an emotional story, and have amazing gameplay. That's what I expect when it comes to a Game of the Year. Something that encompasses all area's of gameplay.
That's not what this game is.
This is an escape room eques dungeon crawler (minus anything to fight), with very little story, and a game loop that gets tiring after the first 10 rooms. The art direction is pretty, but the environment is just... rooms??? And that's the game. You're in a house trying to get to a specific room within a certain amount of steps and there's RNG with very, *very* light puzzles sprinkled in. I wouldn't really count needing a certain clue from another room that you need to RNG into a complex puzzle.
I do see how this game would be fun and interesting for some people, but as a puzzle game, it's no where near something like Escape Simulator, which had more in-depth puzzles, co-op play, and the ability for the community to make puzzles as well.
I really wish there wasn't such a hype for it to be Game of the Year. I feel I would have enjoyed it more without those added expectations. Because overall it's just kinda middle ground of a game. Not bad, but not amazing. It's a game.

This game ♥♥♥♥♥ hard. Rabbit hole of a puzzle game is a very apt descriptor. Has an easily adjustable learning curve which is a big big bonus for a game of this genre. One of the very few games I would actually want to 100%!!
This game does not feature an autosave and is prone to crashing (even on lower resolution & framerate settings). While I wanted to play it more, I simply had to move on after experiencing many days of lost progress. Full of wonderful mysteries if I could see to the end of a day.
I'm only like 7 hours in and it feels impossible to progress. Most runs I don't make any notable progress, maybe I find a new photo or text card that is part of some meta puzzle I'll never figure out. The other reviews about diminishing returns aren't harsh enough.

If you had asked me at the 40 hour mark if I would recommend the game, it would have been an easy recommend from me. It's truly a one of a kind game. It is so so incredibly fun to figure out all the wonderful secrets of the house, and there are so many more than you expect. It's a Pandora's box; the closer you look, the more secrets you will find. What the team has created here is truly a masterpiece in puzzle design - of that there is no doubt.
Unfortunately the next 40 hours were complete despair. At the start you have so many mysteries to solve, that it doesn't really matter what rooms you draft. There is always something to do. Towards the late game, the number of leads is few, and your ability to make progress is directly tied to your ability to manifest the right RNG. Yes, along the way you will get certain tools to help you mitigate this, but they do not reduce the grind substantially enough, and so inevitably you resort to banging your head against a wall hoping you break through. But more than that, it stops you from playing the game. Solving a puzzle is not just about coming up with the right solution, but also about manifesting the right setup to try out your solution. It feels especially bad when you come up with the wrong solution, fight RNG for hours to make it happen, only for it to yield nothing for you. I have truly never felt so dejected after a day of playing a game by the lack of progress made. I think this was a horrible design decision, which single-handedly ruined the game for me.
It's honestly really disappointing because this would have been a strong recommendation from me otherwise. As human beings, we only have finite time on the planet and developers have a responsibility to ensure the time spent by their players is of good value. And in my opinion, if a game does not respect the players time then a down vote is warranted - no exceptions. It's on that basis I am not recommending this game, and that basis alone.

What an experience. This game is art in every way.
It's serene, it's mind bending, it's boundlessly creative... And it repeatedly reminds me of Myst. The silent exploration, looking for clues, completing puzzles, and piecing together fragments of a story and events that took place before. What an amazingly creative and complex puzzle game. If it's on your wishlist, please don't pass it up! Don't forget to come back for it. It's so well worth it. (And try not to spoil it! Go in blind!)

How can they keep making mysteries, it's been 20h into the game AND I KEEP DISCOVERING THINGS
The RNG is brutal with minimal to zero ways of mitigating it until you luck out and break the RNG cycle to get the upgrade or progression you want. 14+ days of runs. I've filled out the entire house, but have yet to even see some of the rooms required to progress... You will be spending days and day of runs with zero meta progression at all. That is not fun. Some items I've never seen. Broken lever, nope, zero spawns. The devs should change the game such that specific items always spawn in certain rooms. Dice should be provided at the start of a run. Certain room combinations that are required to spawn near (or literally right next to each other to work) should do so with a much higher chance. Yes, making RNG less brutal will shorten the game, but I'm here for the puzzles - not being locked out or frustrated for zero fault of my own. If there is some magic pattern where putting blue room X in spot Y always yields required room Z... well, that would be even worse in my mind...

Blue Prince is easily one of the best puzzle games of all time. I am not a big puzzle game nut, but I do enjoy the majority of the well-known entries in the genre (like the Portal series, The Witness, Chants of Sennaar, Outer Wilds, etc.) and I was competely enamored by Blue Prince for the first 70-80 hours. I think the majority of people will love it until a certain point (the “main” quest of the game), and after that, the game becomes a divisive experience.
First of all, the concept of Blue Prince is very unique, and I have to give massive respect to Tonda Ros, the developers, and the publisher for daring to make such a unique game. A roguelite house/deck builder puzzle game, in which you slowly unravel the mystery and story of your character and the world you inhabit.
In a sense, it is a detective game. Slowly finding out more about the house, your lineage, and the universe of the game and its history on each run while taking notes, chasing multiple leads, hints, puzzles, and meta puzzles is insanely satisfying. I described this game to my friends like this: This is the first game I ever played that truly made me feel like Sherlock Holmes, or Tom Hanks from The Da Vinci Code.
It is, however, plagued by a set of subpar design choices that really bog the game down and make it frustrating to play towards the [i][b] true [/b][/i] endgame. The main problems are:
1. Insanely vague late game puzzles that require second-job levels of time and effort, for which the hints are VERY scattered, that yield little to no reward other than a tiny bit of lore
2. The over-reliance on word play in puzzle design. Homonyms, synonyms, portmanteaus, rebus puzzles; you name it, Blue Prince has it. If English is not your first language, good **** luck
3. The lack of obvious quality of life improvements that force you to do the same thing over and over with no reward
4. The RNG that starts to become REALLY annoying in the endgame when you need the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stars to align (sometimes [i] literally[/i]) just to find a tiny bit of a clue about a puzzle in the endgame, and consequently, the game’s complete disregard and disrespect of your time, even with all the mechanics that the game gives you to mitigate RNG ([spoiler] Ah yes, I love that I need to solve 45 more Mora Jai boxes and 44 more painting puzzles AGAIN right at the very last puzzle of the game WHILE managing my steps AGAIN, and if I can’t do it, I have to draft Shrine and Secret Passage tomorrow, AGAIN. And my reward for it is a 3-4 page document. Spectacular design. [/spoiler])
5. Certain puzzles require a logic that was straight-up pulled out of someone’s ass during development (looking at you, the last [spoiler] Gallery painting [/spoiler] and [spoiler] the Drawing Room puzzle [/spoiler].
To finish, please do play this game. At least until you complete the main objective (which is like 30% of the entire game; this is a deep rabbit hole), which should still give you 20 to 30 hours of some of the most satisfying puzzle and exploration gameplay you can find nowadays. This feeling does persist for a while after you complete the main objective, because on each run, you will still have multiple leads and mysteries to follow. When these dwindle down to the last 2 or 3, though, don’t feel ashamed to just quit or start looking things up.

É uma mansão onde a trama é achar uma sala secreta e a cada dia voce acumula pistas para essa missão. Os segredos não são obvios e exigem muita mas muuuuitas observação e thinking. Não é um jogo que vai cair em todos os paladares pois exige pensar alem do normal para encontrar soluções. Nada esta obvio
A platina e a solução de certos quebra-cabeças fogem até mesmo no normal para um jogo, onde certas progressões só evoluem pessoas que acumulam prints ou... anotações num caderno. Qual jogo no mundo iria te fazer abrir um caderno com lapis para zera-lo? Ou anotar um numero numa foto que voce viu a 10 dias atras e agora é a solução pra um puzzle na sua frente? Ou o livro que voce leu na biblioteca alugado ter a resposta para a sala que apareceu só 1x pra voce
O jogo cansa se voce não gostar desse estilo, então para zerar voce pode acabar optando por utilizar dicas na internet. É muito muito dificil

What an amazing game.
I was grinding a 3rd person shooter, and completely put it down to play... this? What even is this? It's astoundingly good. I've been gaming since the NES, and I can tell this is going to stick with me for awhile. Every day is a brand new game. I still have so many puzzles to solve. I've never played a game where I read everything I find in case I miss some clue to the mystery. 10/10 highly recommended.
As others have already pointed out, the game is heavily gated by excessive RNG.
I played for about 25 hours—really enjoyed the first 20, but the last 5 were frustrating.
The worst part is knowing I’ve barely scratched the surface of the game’s content. I didn’t even reach the 46th room, even though after a few hours I had high suspicion about the true meaning of it and especially Simon’s nature.
There are simply too many conditions that need to be aligned to make progress. Sometimes, a situation requires what can be discribed with the rolling of a dice 3 times , and hoping for a 6 each time.

Blue Prince is an experience full of well-crafted puzzles and an incredible atmosphere, where the play pattern is hands-on with low-risk bite-sized rooms so that you're not staring at your screen for 10 minutes stressing over your next move (looking at you, Baba). This game has rapidly clawed its way up to the top of my list in this genre despite my expectations, and I eagerly look forward to getting to 100% completion from where I currently am in the early postgame.
Love the puzzles! Frustrating at times due to room randomization but def worth it!

Watch your step(s) in this frustrating, strand-type game. If you enjoy wasting your time on doors that lead to dead ends and items that are ephemeral, this is the game for you.
A bit frustrating at times, but it keeps you coming back. You choose how fast you wanna play. Puzzles are ok, some hard some easy. Beautiful graphics. Really good music.

The puzzles are very interesting, but to get to the puzzle, you must go through very repetitive and frustrating RNG. Honestly the game is 10% puzzle solving and 90% chore. You seriously have to go to the basement, solve the rotating gear, walk to the Inner Sanctum, and pull the north lever every single run, just for the run to end because of locked doors and unlucky draws. Seriously, why do locked doors even exist? The only things they add to the game are frustration, annoyance, and my urge to uninstall the game. I genuinely enjoy solving a lot of the puzzles, which is a shame, because the worst part of the game, RNG, is unfortunately the very core mechanic of the game. Before playing this game, I never thought that there could be a game that mixes roguelike with puzzle. Now, I can see why because there shouldn't be one. I would really like a game like this but without RNG.
The Blue Prince is one of those games that makes you want to give up after hitting a generational run, just to hit dark room into archives right before antechamber. There really isn’t much to say about this game except… you’re missing out if you don’t give it a try.
After finally completing all of this game's secrets and achievements, I can very comfortably and happily say (if I haven't already) that this is one of my favourite games of all time. It has perhaps the most unique gameplay loop to grace the gaming community, coupled with a rich, vibrant story, amazing atmosphere in both the unique visual scenery in addition to the beautiful music, and has ways beyond the base "win" to really challenge you and push you further.
In my opinion, this is one of the best games of all time and if you haven't played it, you're missing out.
This is a special puzzle game. I know it might seem annoying, but trust me, get a notebook/keep a text document to track the puzzles. It's really fun and adds so much to the game.
Felt more like gambling than a puzzler. Returned after 2 days' run and a lot of YouTube videos to see if I was missing something. Seems that is the idea. Not for me.
La idea de Blue Prince es sin duda muy buena, original e interesante. Sin embargo, desgraciadamente, la ejecución no está a la altura. Las primeras vueltas por la casa todo es nuevo y es genial, pero una vez que has dado unas cuantas vueltas acabas viendo que bajo la apariencia de interés e interactividad, la realidad es que la proporción de habitaciones con puzzles es relativamente baja y tienen siempre el mismo puzzle de modo que una vez resuelto hay que simplemente repetir. Y todo el avance real de la partida acaba no siendo una cuestión de resolver puzzles sino de un frustrante RNG que decide si te salen las habitaciones adecuadas para lo que quieres hacer, si tienes los recursos (items, llaves, etc.) para poder abrirlas y sacarles partido, etc. Y pese a que hay alguna pista de historia, la realidad es que lo que más hay son notas esparcidas de lore de tiempos pasados, no una historia real.
Gráficamente el juego es interesante con ese look de dibujos animados bien llevado. El sonido cumple, pero tampoco es la gran cosa y tiene poca variedad real. Al menos, eso si, no me topé con ningún bug mientras lo jugaba.
El resultado es un juego que me encantaría poder recomendar, pero no puedo. Un 4.
A puzzle worth solving again. And again, and...

anyway, some reviews point out that the rng causes a lot of frustration, but that wasn't very present in our playthrough. the mystery keeps on giving and strings me along, such that even if i hit a dead end on one run (or cannot accomplish the goal of that run), i'll work towards unravelling the lore instead.
i personally think there's enough assistance given for the mysteries of the manor, between the [spoiler] blue notes [/spoiler], [spoiler] library books [/spoiler], [spoiler] letters that can be sent to the mailroom [/spoiler] and more.
and the sense of accomplishment of solving something, especially endgame stuff, is unparalleled - haven't been able to recreate that in any other game other than (very arguably) tunic.
also, i love the art direction. it just scratches an itch for me.
퍼즐, 로그라이크, 스토리 게임 좋아하는 나한테 있어서 초초초초갓겜. 영어 실력만 어느 정도 된다면 무조건 추천합니다. 시스템적으로 타 언어 번역이 불가능에 가깝다는 게 너무나도 안타까울 따름...
도전 과제도 어느 정도 땄는데도 아직도 엔딩을 못 보고 있다는 게 너무 무서워요

First few runs are fun, but then you just get stuck with rooms that wont let you progress further.
Its locks you out of options, or at least thats how it feels.
If you get an Item, that item will no be needed, or useless.

Look, it isn't a bad game. This is one of the game I wish I could do a "maybe" on. I played it for 27ish hours and beat the "main" objective to see the ending. Your time and mileage WILL vary because the game is heavily rng dependent. In order to do everything involved will require replaying the game many many times if you are a completionist. I just couldn't bring myself to do it, as I lost interest part way through. I did really enjoy the hidden elements of the game, and the way that the secrets have secrets. It feels like you're always discovering or unearthing something new, even things that felt meaningless when you began. That being said, I just really didn't want to continue playing it. If you like puzzle games based on a lot of RNG and luck, then you may love it (clearly, many others have). *shrug*
It's really, really good but I legitimately think I'm too dumb for this game.
This game demands a lot of patience and all of your attention. It's not a puzzle game in the sense of "here is a puzzle find the solution," or "here's a solution, find the puzzle it goes with." It's more Here's a bunch of incredibly subtle clues to something that might be nearby or in another room entirely. Most puzzle games feel like they want to be solved and will nudge you in the right direction, Blue Prince is wholly indifferent if you solve it or not. There's a lot of reading involved and you need to decide what information, if any, is relevant. If you start following a thread but run out of steps, can't just pick up where you left off the next day, because all of the rooms reset. It's incredibly satisfying when you finally understand how something works and make meaningful progress, but it's so agonizingly difficult to reach those moments.
I'm going to give it a recommendation, with the caveat that it's for a very dedicated mystery-solver. If this game is for you, you'll love it.
This is a tough one because I'm personally not going to play it anymore, but I do find it to be a very good game. My primary issue is also the main selling point of the game, the room building. The puzzles are great and the slowly unraveling mystery are very compelling, but I really don't like relying on rng when I'm chasing the thread of a specific puzzle. This frustration really reached a boiling point when I learned the mechanics of a certain puzzle.
[spoiler] Where you have to visit every single square on the map to do picture subtraction, collect all the letters to build the message and then that message was just a clue for another puzzle that I hadn't collected all of the info for yet and required even more rng to find all the lore bits for. [/spoiler]
Basically the rng room mechanics made it feel like a chore to go from connecting the dots to pulling on the next thread and really ruined the game for me., but putting that aside it is a genuinely good puzzle game.
One of the best exploration puzzle game among the likes of Riven and Outer Wilds. What works so well in Blue Prince is the interplay of intially rewarding your attention to many little details, then zooming out to paying attention to the bigger narrative mystery.

Originally thought I was in for a few hours of puzzle gameplay but Blue Prince is so much more.
Easily worth the price tag for the amount of gameplay you get with this game, puzzle, mystery, and more.
This game is incredibly well made and the puzzles and challenges just make it that much better if your looking for very long but exciting journey rougelite I would recommend giving this game a try.

Overall just kind of boring and too heavily dependent on what random rooms you get. The main puzzle i am trying to solve is what people like so much.
Immersive puzzle solving with incredible depth of lore. There are games within games here so the (re)play value is very high. The art style is beautiful and the music compliments the vibe well. I've played this on PS5, Windows and now Mac and the experience is great across all platforms.

Absolutely Incredible Game. As of 3/19/2026, the game is very well-polished and makes for a wonderful experience that is well worth the price you pay for it. The puzzles are carefully thought through, and, in my experience, were not overly frustrating or nonsensical while still posing quite the challenge. I have beaten the game at this point, but I am nowhere near finished. If you are fluent in English and like puzzle games, I am quite certain you will be satisfied with what this game has to offer.
[b] Key Points: [/b]
- You WILL NEED A NOTEBOOK to keep track of this game's many clues. At first, I thought this was slightly annoying, but I've beaten the game since then, and I have grown to appreciate how it gives me total control over the information I record, and I think it's one of the main reasons this game is so immersive and captivating.
- 36 hours and ZERO bugs or glitches. In the current version of the game, I did not bear witness to any malfunctions with the games mechanics, and did not have any crashes or freezes. I think there were a few times where my framerate decreased a bit? I can't even say for sure tbh.
- As for the visuals, this game uses the "cartoony" black outline style seen in games like Lethal Company, and I think it fits very well with the puzzle genre. You can tell the developers spent ages making it look pretty, and their work paid off.
[b] Complaints: [/b]
- This game assumes that you are [i] fluent [/i] in the English language. There is a lot of wordplay that I struggled to understand as a native speaker, and I would expect a non-native English speaker to encounter a lot of difficulty and frustration playing it. For this reason, and can't confidently recommend Blue Prince to people that aren't fluent in English.
- You cannot save mid-run. This is a common theme among many roguelites, where you always have a chance to start again, and thus no save function is implemented. This is perhaps my greatest complaint about this game, because each run can take well over an hour, and I don't like having to keep my computer running when I have to take a break for a while and don't want to lose progress.
Overall, 9/10 game for me. I'm loving this game, and I think you will too.
