Don't buy for online PvP. Even after clicking online it's bots. Only buy if you have friends to play with. Does work online with friends tho. But not with random people.

Beautiful, slick and polished rendition of the classic Battleship board game we all grew up with. Game works flawlessly on windows but on PopOS 24.04 I am unable to play online. Would love to see that fixed or to find a workaround.

I used to play Battleship on my phone, so seeing it on PC feels great. It’s an excellent guess-and-strategy game with a solid balance between simple rules and smart decision-making. Predicting your opponent and landing the right hits is really satisfying. Definitely recommended.

What's there to say? It's Battleship! If you're looking to game, but are unable to commit to something lengthy or in depth, Battleship is here for the rescue. Each battle is relatively short, yet the game can be played for hours (obviously) if desired. Just a simple, chill game that's loads of fun. In addition, it has commander mode. Give it a try!

Excelente versión del juego de mesa, tiene un modo para un jugador, multijugador, y partida con amigos.
No tiene una historia, tiene a varios comandantes que elegir y dos modos de juego: clásico y el nuevo modo, “comandante”. En este nuevo modo de juego uno gana energía con cada partida e impacto que sus flotas soportan, uno entonces puede cambiar esta energía por poderes en el juego, cosas como minas que puedes poner alrededor de tus flotas, si el enemigo las impacta entonces se disparan dos cañones a su tablero, también hay radares que te permiten saber si es que hay objetivos en una celda de 3x3.
Cada comandante también tiene habilidades especiales, algunas mucho mejor que otras, unos pueden disparar torpedos que destruyen toda una hilera de celdas, mientras que otros pueden utilizar unos disparos aleatorios para cubrir distintas áreas del tablero.
El juego tiene un sistema de objetivos que se completan naturalmente mientras uno va jugando, con cada objetivo uno gana una estrella, si uno colecta cinco, uno termina subiendo de rango. Hay más de 100 estrellas y objetivos en el juego.
En general me gusto bastante, el único problema es que la IA a veces hace trampa y adivina donde están tus barcos, especialmente en la dificultad más difícil, en la dificultad media y fácil esto no es un problema tan grande y es perfectamente jugable, pero jugar en la dificultad más difícil es un dolor…
Aún así lo recomiendo bastante, esta muy bien logrado para pasar el rato y es exactamente lo que dice que es. El contenido descargable también lo recomiendo, añade más variedad de comandantes y de escenarios.

This game contains two separate versions of Battleship: The standard version and commander mode where you pick a commander who has special attacks. There are some nice quality of life features (Your friend can't move their ships and claim you "missed." I experienced no bugs as of this review. I had a fun time.

La propuesta es simple: pensar, adivinar, leer al rival y celebrar cuando tu disparo cae donde duele. Funciona como casual para pasar el rato, como estrategia para picarte con alguien, y como “indie” en el sentido espiritual de que se siente más pequeño de lo que su marca sugiere. Primera impresión: entretenido, directo, y con ese aroma a “esto lo conozco desde niño… pero ahora me lo venden con efectos”.

Hasbro's BATTLESHIP es el tipo de juego que hace exactamente lo que promete: un duelo de estrategia por turnos, fácil de entender, rápido de jugar y perfecto para picarte con alguien. El problema es que esa misma fidelidad al concepto también lo encierra: no hay mucha magia extra, y lo “acción/aventura” se siente más como maquillaje que como columna vertebral.
Lo controversial: el juego vive o muere por el multijugador, y con 12 jugadores actuales, a veces se siente como ir a un bar “popular” a las 9 a.m.: sí, existe, pero no sabes si hoy habrá ambiente. Aun así, 738 recomendaciones totales dicen que, cuando funciona y encuentras con quién, cumple su cometido: entretener y sacar tu lado más tóxico, pero en formato familiar.

Excelente juego, el nuevo modo comandantes le da nueva vida a un juego que por si solo podría convertirse en aburrido de tanto jugar, y el modo clásico te da la posibilidad de volver jugarlo como lo recordabas.

A lot of DLC, but none of it is necessary to have a good time. Battleship is one of my favorite board games and I love the powers that the Commanders mode adds! It really changes the strategy of the game in an engaging way. I was also pleasantly surprised to see that the online playerbase isn't dead! It's not hard to find someone to play with. I don't know if I'd pay $12.49 for this considering all the DLC, but decidedly worth getting on sale.
If you want something that will play like battleship but with your friends online, this is it. It's a fantastic recreation on the board game and functions well and is genuinely fun.
This game is the worst. Playing on medium difficulty against the computer and you either get A: laughably bad shots where you feel sorry for it or B: the computer is seeing through the oracle and gets every shot it takes.

Hasbro’s BATTLESHIP takes a very calm tabletop game and turns it into a loud action movie. Instead of politely saying “you sunk my battleship,” you’re calling in airstrikes and blowing holes in the ocean.
The strategy is light, the missions are straightforward, and most of the fun comes from watching ships explode in increasingly dramatic ways. It’s not deep, but it knows exactly what it is.
If you want a simple, mindless action game with a familiar name slapped on it, this works. If you’re expecting deep naval strategy, you’re in the wrong ocean.

Great fun! I love this game a lot. It has plain ol' Battleship, but what really makes the game is the commander mode -- you can select a commander and use their special abilities to strategically uncover tiles with earned points (and sometimes even leave some tiles strategically covered until later on -- getting a hit gives your opponent points to spend on skills, themselves). Each commander also has differently shaped ships. I also love that you are pretty much guaranteed to find a match whether you are playing vanilla Battleship or the more strategic one. Definitely recommended for casual board game fans, especially when on sale!

Puedes jugar contra la CPU, pero es mejor tener alguien con quién jugarlo o un par de copias en la familia de steam, porque el online está algo muerto.

It's Battleship, that's a plus but unfortunately too many negatives.
-Way too expensive (i got this in a bundle) with another expensive DLC that just unlocks some persons and areas that should be there for free.
-From my memory i learned to play this where you can't have surrounding ships, this one allows it, making it even less tactical and more based on luck.
-Slow games, where you can't skip or make things faster.
-The computer opponent knows too well where your ships are, even on easy and medium.

It took me just under 40 hours to get all the achievements. I can imagine if anyone wanted to speedrun all the achievements, under 30 hours is very possible. Alot of patience is needed.

It's Battleship, based on the very famous board game. The original involves little skill: you just pick a space, the other player checks if he has a ship on it, and if so, he marks it and tell you. The first to guess all the spaces where there is a ship, wins. Game includes the "classic" version plus a "modern" one, with various skills you can use to help hit the ships, differently shaped ships and a new game board. The graphics are nice and easy to read. Everything is very polished (as "mama Hasbro" requires).
It's a good reproduction of the board game, matches are short, there is online multiplayer and game is also fun to play. Just do not expect anything too deep (but maybe you're good with that).

Lo que más me gustó es que la IA en dificultad alta no es tan tonta como uno esperaría; puede ofrecer un reto decente y hacer que cada partida se sienta un poco más estratégica. Además, los diferentes escenarios, los estilos de naves y los poderes especiales de los personajes jugables aportan variedad suficiente como para mantenerte interesado durante varias sesiones. Es de esos juegos que puedes abrir, jugar un par de partidas rápidas y seguir con tu día satisfecho.
En cuanto a los gráficos, son correctos: nada espectacular, pero lo justo para el tipo de experiencia que ofrece. Battleship no busca sorprender visualmente, sino replicar fielmente la sensación del tablero, y en eso cumple perfectamente.
