一定の高さから落ちると死亡するので無茶な攻略が出来ない所がバランスが良く
ゲームクリア後にスピードランの動画を見るとわかるが、想像以上に可能性に満ちた攻略が可能
一度クリアしただけなら到底思いつかない発想、短縮技術が散見され驚かされるが本当に練習しないと出来ないものが多い
速くクリアしようとすると難易度は跳ね上がります、そこに魅力を感じる事が出来ればプレイされるのも良いかと思います
単にクリアするだけならアイデア一本勝負のゲームという印象で終わると思いますが十分な満足感は得られます

I'd argue the definitive version of this game is the Wii release purely because it feels like it was designed to make use of the rotation controls, whereas its a little more clunky and difficult to play on PC because of the lack of them. Really cool underlooked artsy platformer that I wish more people would play. I hope it gets a remaster of sorts for modern platforms some day with upscaled art assets and generally less jank when it comes to running it on PC in the modern day

(DO NOT 100% THIS GAME, YOU WILL NOT ENJOY IT, JUST DO A CASUAL PLAYTHROUGH.) There is so much I want to say about this game, but then my review willl be too long. I will try to keep this brief. I have a love-hate relationship with And Yet It Moves. I'll start with the good parts. The artstyle of this game is timeless, and is the one part of the game that doesn't feel dated. If you ever wanted to play an Eric Carle book ( The man who Illustrated The Hungry Catterpillar) then this game is for you! The sound effects of this game are also funny, my personal favorites are the monkey sounds in chapter two (which is just the developers of this game making monkey sounds, lol), and the iconic/uniconic sound of falling in a black hole (just a dude whistling.) The soundtrack is original and cool-sounding, with all the sound effects and songs being composed only with the voices of humans. I have a soft spot for this game, so I didn't really notice or care about the flaws/bugs on my casual playthroughs, but GOOD LORD MAN, the mechanics of this game are inconsistent as Hell. The game tells you slopes don't kill you if you land on them, then there are perfect looking slopes that sometimes kill you and sometimes don't kill you. Sometimes you die from fall damage, sometimes you don't! THERE'S NO RHYME OR REASON!!! (There is also a bug where sometimes you boot up the game and your mouse cursor disappears, really weird.) And if you decide to get all gold badges for this game, it'll make you want to RIP ALL YOUR HAIR OUT INDIVIDUALLY. There are three badges to get for each mode (Limited Rotations, Survival, and Time Trial.) Limited rotations is just beating a level in as little rotations as possible, (the game is about rotating the world,) Survival is just trying to get through a world without dying, and Time Trial*. *Time trial is the hardest of the three, which is just you needing to beat a level under a pre-made time limit, and some of these pre-made time limits are complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on some levels, some are fairly easy to complete, and others require amazing percision to perform, but if you put a lot of elbow grease into it, it's only incredibly obnoxious and exhausting and insane. That's ignoring the last four levels. After beating the epilogue level, you unlock four hard final levels. These levels are fine to do on a normal playthrough, and honestly, the first two are easy to 100%, third is really annoying but doable, and the last level is seriously EVIL. The Chase is unironically the most ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ level to ever get all the badges on. You need to complete an incredibly hard level on a strict time limit, while also needing to wrestle with the annoying inconsistent mechanics. You will die so many times on this level. You will start to feel hatred for the developers for this challenge, you will begin to go insane from the silence of the no music in these final four levels and the sounds of enemies chasing you. It requires insane luck, yes there's some skill to it, but it's mostly luck. It's too long to explain, just know it's like being teleported to the deepest layer of Hell where it's all frozen and cold, which is what you'll feel after you 100% this level. I decided to 100% this level first for some reason, and every subsequent level after that felt so much easier it's insane, and I'm glad I did it this way. Every other badge is Super Weenie Hut Jr's compared to this ♥♥♥♥. If any of you out there are interested in buying this game, DO NOT SEEK OUT TO FULLY COMPLETE I HAVE TO REITERATE ON THIS. The developers genuinely dropped the ball hard on how they went about this Crazy achievement. I felt so much anger everytime this game kicked me in the nuts, but I kept going. It feels gratifying finally completing the last level and the whole game for that matter, but it just isn't worth it. It requires too much luck with the inconsistent engine this game runs off for it to be worth it. This review ended up being long, but whatever. I do recommend this game to people, it's short, but I feel like it's memorable. It is the first game this studio has ever made, after all, just don't 100% it. if you do feel like 100% this game, come to me, I'll be glad to help.

Personally, I enjoyed the game. None of the mechanics overstayed their welcome, though none of the puzzles were particularly difficult.

It was a bit difficult to get the world turning right, and the fall damage due to momentum can feel a bit wonky, at times. Getting the turns themselves right can also be difficult, as the player turns from the core, and not the feet. Additionally, scaling in the OS settings itself has to be reduced to 100% for the game to display properly.

Haven't tried the epilogue levels yet, and I've heard some negativity around those, so I may update my review once I finish those.

EDIT: First two epilogue levels are easy, second one's a nice balance of challenge, but the last one is hell.

J'ai connu [b] And Yet It Moves [/b] grâce à sa démo sur le WiiWare qui était sortie à l'époque. Ça faisait au moins 10 ans que j'y avais pas joué, et je me suis dit sur le coup de la nostalgie que j'allais l'acheter.
Quelle erreur !

Autant certains niveaux je m'en souviens et ils sont funs, autant d'autres c'est juste du die and retry en boucle, des mécaniques chiantes, et beaucoup de bugs à en croire que le jeu n'a pas été testé après sa sortie en 2009.

Passé les niveaux sur le thème de la jungle, bien que la plupart étaient déjà chiants et certaines mécaniques incompréhensibles si tu regardes pas de vidéo walkthrough, le reste c'est juste difficile et heureusement que y avait ces niveaux sur la démo car sinon j'aurai pété un câble à l'époque je pense.

D'ailleurs la version WiiWare est beaucoup plus maniable concernant l'inclinaison dans les niveaux, le jeu se met en pause et tu peux vraiment choisir l'inclinaison comme tu le veux, puis relâcher quand t'es prêt. On dirait que le jeu a pas été conçu pour être joué sur PC, l'inclinaison est instantanée et très limitée (seulement 4 angles possibles), rendant certains niveaux plus difficiles que sur Wii.

Et concernant les sauvegardes, je trouve idiot que les checkpoints dans les niveaux ne sauvegardent pas la partie. Y a une fois j'étais à la fin d'un niveau et le labyrinthe était trop casse-tête, donc je suis parti me coucher, le lendemain en reprenant la partie j'étais au tout début du niveau, m'obligeant à recommencer les 20 minutes que j'ai perdues la veille. Ou alors quand un niveau est littéralement injouable à cause de bugs qui n'ont jamais été patchés, relancer le jeu oblige donc à tout se retaper et on a même pas la certitude que cette fois ça va fonctionner quand on sera arrivé à la partie qui était buguée.

Bref, je pense que j'aurais dû me contenter de la démo, je soupçonne même que les niveaux chiants du jeu n'ont pas été inclus dans la démo pour justement garder les seuls niveaux funs et intéressants du jeu. Dégueulasse comme marketing, et très déçu de mon achat. Comme quoi la nostalgie peut souvent être trompeuse.

I've always wanted to play this ever since I played the demo of AYIM on the Wii over and over again as a kid.
Very cool puzzle platformer with lots of personality !!
The gameplay and flipping mechanics are fun, the music can range from chill to mysterious to funky, the paper aesthetic of this game is very charming and unique, and I just generally love the whole vibe of this game.
The ONLY thing I wish this game had was full 360 degree rotation like the Wiiware version had; that was one of my favorite parts of that version.

17 levels?

I just got the achievement for completing chapter two. A shiny, gold, rare achievement that only 7.9% of players have attained. This game was released in 2009, so perhaps the gracious explanation is that achievements were introduced later on, but if that isn't the case then I can see why what should be a common achievement is such a rare one.

This mostly generic platformer has an interesting aesthetic and a fun gimmick that is tired now but I understand was somewhat ahead of its time, but the best descriptor I can give it is "annoying." The background ambience is annoying, so I turned that off. The sound effects are also annoying - very repetitive and insistent with no variation - but they give important gameplay cues. The player character's jumps are largely useless, as the true "jumping" you're supposed to do is achieved by rotating the world. Fine. But then you're contending with the absolutely unforgiving - and inconsistent - fall damage. Annoying.

There are times when a fall will kill you seemingly just because, and other falls that should be fatal but aren't because that is what the game wants you to do. You're *supposed* to be able to break your fall safely on sloped surfaces, but even the slope used to introduces this mechanic only works a fraction of the time. Every movement demands exact and mysterious precision that the graphics make hard to perceive and the controls mostly don't allow. You die. You die. You die. All while the entire vibe of the game appears to want to be relaxing.

I hope you enjoy jumping on bamboo poles. I spent the significant majority of my playtime trying to time my jumps in the nth of a second allowed to increase the jump distance a fraction of an inch. Missing that miniscule window of time means, more often than not, having to start over.

The puzzles all felt bland and lacked the "aha!" moment of figuring it out. Truly, the most puzzling part was figuring out which corner to try to fling the character towards, because whatever next platform was outside the view of the screen...

Also, I did encounter a game-breaking glitch in which a swing that was required to get from point A to B simply blipped out of existence and wouldn't come back. It wasn't stuck anywhere, it just disappeared while I was looking at it. There's no option to reset a checkpoint, so I just had to throw that run. Which was annoying, especially because it was after I had finally cleared a bunch of the aforementioned tedious bamboo poles.

This is lovely platformer with a hand-made aesthetic. It has a simple hook: spin the world to navigate the environment. It introduces new ideas gently. It's never punishingly hard but just challenging enough and varied enough to stay interesting. I played through And Yet it Moves years ago and am now watching my elementary-age child enjoy it. A good, smart game.

Getting 100% was a slog, playing the same levels over and over again and dying to random rocks and an extra 0.02 cm of fall height.

Notes:

* Game features random achievements (Random, as I understand nobody knows how it's awarded, but it seems prety frequent)
* Game features negative achievements (1000 Deaths, etc.)
* Game features speedrun achievements but the leaderboard in game is broken and clicking to watch a ghost crashes the game.
* Chapter select is available, Main menu>Choose a mode
* The game is non-deterministic, Your checkpoints don't save the game state but the player position. It's possible (Hell, encouraged) to die and get teleported back to your checkpoint but now the rocks are out of the way for example. Another great example is Labyrinth, where in theory your character shouldn't be able to pass between 2 rectangles... but sometimes you pass, sometimes you die, most of the times you just stop as intended. It' Random.
* Google is crap now and the AI's hallucinate all sorts of incompetence so finding out how to get some achievements was extra tricky (made a guide for the most confusing one IMO).
* Some users report achievements not unlocking on the forums but I understand there were some patches years ago that allegedly fixed it. For me Kamikaze didn't want to unlock until the 3-4'th time. I also left the game running for 3.5 hours and it didn't want to unlock the Addicted achievement until way further.
* I play everything from shooters to rhyhtm games for hours without problems but this game almost makes me vomit. Something about my brain can't handle the screen rotations. Fair warning, especially since there's a nausea-inducing achievement for the spin cycle level.

This was most likely a student project that went way too far that was stuffed into humble bundles as filler. You can judge how people like this game by the fact that there are almost no guides and almost no videos, Just like you can judge how popular an Overwatch character is by the amount of rule34 posts on her.

It isn't the best Puzzle Game but the gameplay is pretty unique,
same for art and sounds.

Oh yeah, the sounds.
I can not say for sure but at least the majority of all sounds in this game are made by humans.
It feels like listening to a Beatboxer the whole time. Pretty funny... for a while.

Anyway, you need to walk or jump and rotate the whole screen, which can be frustrating on some parts.

Some parts are very easy, some are super tricky and need good timing.
I had fun for some hours and it wasn't too long to get annoyed by the sounds.

Started as a computer science project of the Vienna University of Technology in 2007, And Yet It Moves is an innovative platform/puzzle game made by an independent developer. There is no real story in the game; as a nameless character, the goal is to traverse levels from a start to an endpoint. Jumping is the only move the protagonist has, but that is not all that can be done. At any time, the level the protagonist is in can be spun by 90° or 180°, causing time to freeze for a brief moment, and gravity to resume after the rotation has been completed. Spinning the screen has physical consequences, since gravity always points downwards, and rotating the level does not impact neither the momentum of the protagonist nor that of any other objects in the level. Falling from too high, though, kills the protagonist, so endlessly spinning a level to reach the end is not an option. Other obstacles like fires or black holes can also kill the protagonist. There are no lives, though, and a series of well-placed checkpoints make the challenges manageable; each checkpoint also clearly indicates in which direction the next one is, making navigation easy. And Yet It Moves has really stylish and unique visuals; the levels resemble a paper collage and even the main character is just a cutout pencil line-drawing on white paper. The soundtrack is mostly composed of ambient noises and amazingly performed beat-boxing. There are only 17 levels, making the game short, yet excellently paced. All things considered, And Yet It Moves is a very solid indie platform/puzzle game, worth the time it takes to finish it.

Très bon puzzle platformer au gameplay intéressant et assez unique, j'ai d'abord découvert ce jeu il y a très longtemps avec une demo sur le WiiWare et j'ai récemment appris qu'il était sur pc et il était en promo à ce moment donc j'en ai donc profité pour pouvoir enfin finir le jeu et je ne suis pas déçu les OST/sound effect acapella et les graphismes papier apportent vraiment une ambiance particulière au jeu, je recommande 👍

And Yet It Moves é um jogo de puzzle de plataforma no qual você pode rotacionar o mundo, assim alterando a gravidade, para passar de obstáculos e chegar no final de suas várias fases. Eu acho que ele é um jogo com uma mecânica inventiva pra época, e que faz um trabalho decente em usar ela de maneiras interessantes ao longo de sua duração, mas que não envelheceu tão bem quando comparado com seus contemporâneos do meio independente, assim como com as experiências que esse meio consegue nos proporcionar hoje em dia.

Meu maior problema com ele foi que suas mecânicas se baseiam em física, e em muitos momentos achei seus sistemas bem instáveis, são bem menos confiáveis do que se esperaria - seja a gravidade acelerando do nada, ou um trampolim que te mata ao invés de te dar um impulso. Eu vi que na época o jogo foi lançado para o Nintendo Wii e permitia nele uma liberdade muito maior de movimentação, com o jogador definindo o grau de rotação do mundo, enquanto nessa versão aqui a rotação está limitada à ângulos de 90 graus, o que dá muito menos precisão para o jogador. Eu também senti falta de qualquer tipo de narrativa ou objetivo além de chegar no final de cada fase, eu sinto que senti falta de algo a mais para me manter investido além de sua mecânica.

Dito isso, ainda estou recomendando And Yet It Moves: por mais que suas falhas tenham impedido ele de ter se mantido tão popular quanto Braid ou Limbo no decorrer dos anos, eu ainda acho que a originalidade de sua mecânica principal e a frequente diversidade e surpresa de momentos de seus níveis criam uma experiência que vale a pena ser jogada pelo menos uma vez para quem é fã do gênero. Eu especificamente só não acho que valha a pena pra quem deseja fazer 100% dele, eu mesmo desisti de ganhar de seus vários modos bônus depois de me frustrar com suas fases extras bem injustas.

(Observação: 7 horas do meu tempo de jogo foram tentando pegar uma conquista de jogar o jogo por 3h30min sem parar, como não veio na segunda tentativa desisti, então meu tempo real de jogo ficaria em torno de 7 ou 8 horas.)

Problem is that for me personally, it simply wasn’t fun to play. Maybe it was clunky controls, slow pace, or maybe something else entirely. Closer to completion, it felt more like a chore, than a rewarding challenge.

In any case, it [i]is[/i] a good game overall, so I'd recommend buying it on sale and giving it a short.

[h1] A old title that has it's issues but to me is still historically important to Indie Games & worth playing [/h1]

(This game has an issue working normally on modern windows but not impossible to fix, if you experience a black screen when launching use this workaround found by "loki" this let me play the game in completion with no issues on Windows 10.

Set load in window mode (properties, parameters of load -w). When the music starts press ctrl+alt+del, then press Tab after press Enter. It will open change of profile. Enter your password and play game in window mode.

I knew of this game since it's release very long ago in 09/2010, I wanted to play it as a kid but forgot it's name until a year ago or so. This game is a little janky and can be annoying at times but I still really enjoy it.

I feel this game was kinda ahead of its time since indie puzzle platformer games (separate from Cinematic Platformers like Limbo & Oddworld etc) hadn't fully hit its stride yet in 2009. (Only other examples around 08-09 off the top of my head are Braid, La Mulana, & Trine) I love the paper cut style of this game that used public domain art it looks amazing to this day.

The controls in this one take some getting used to and the WII port has improved controls due to precise aiming with the wii remote but I prefer the original since it can natively run as a higher resolution. If you like platformers and want to play what I think is an underrated title that hasn't been discussed enough and or given enough credit in the indie game scene give And Yet It Moves a try it's worth it on sale.

This is a tough one to review. The game certainly gets better towards the end, and it has a unique style. However the mechanics are quite simple, despite this you'll die more from pressing the wrong button than running into an obstacle.

What it lacks is that moment where you beat a puzzle and feel like a genius. Instead you find yourself using trial and error to either find the right path or understand the developers intention (lots of one-off events like getting a banana to a monkey).

Ultimately I didn't find the fun. That said, watch the trailer, if it looks interesting to you then give it a shot, it's not bad.

I had this game back on the Wii when I was 9, I never got to really finish it because I was 9 and unfortunately an idiot- as are most people at that age. I am now, like, 25. Still an idiot, but able to finish this game! And it was very much worth it. The music is great, the visuals are unique and add a lot to the experience of the game. I cannot recommend it any further. My first encounter with an indie game started with this game back when I played it on the Wii as a kid. As young as I was, nostalgia is liable to tint one's own view on the game years later, however, I only ever played the demo. Coming back to And Yet it Moves years later, with the typical cynicism many of us in our 20's begin developing towards games, I'm happy to say the full-version of this game was pretty enjoyable!

Being new to PC gaming and Steam sales, I'm beginning to develop taste for ultra short campaigns with densely packed novelty, fun, excitement, or whatever I can shake out of a $3 game. This game delivers a unique take on physics-based puzzles and I think the 3-hour campaign will convince most of you of that!

Un bon jeu qui me rappelle des bons souvenirs du WiiWare qui malheureusement n'existe plus aujourd'hui (Enf♥️iré de Nintendo !!!)
Mais qui est aussi sur Steam ! Même si ça reste un jeu de plateforme simple mais où l'on peut faire tourner l'environnent.

Même si le jeu coûte 10 balles et qui n'y a quasi aucune promo (surtout quand il y a des triple-A qui tombe en-dessous de la barre des 10 euros, c'est vrai que tu vas plus préféré prendre un AAA qu'un jeu indé pour le même prix)

Mais il y a une démo comme sur Wii que vous pouvez essayer ^^

I found the art style distractedly ugly. The audio was irritating and the visuals made me feel physically ill. The gameplay itself was pretty bland. I don't see any reason to play this in a world where VVVVVV exists (I actually got both games as part of the same bundle.)

[h1]The most unique puzzle-platformer of all time. 8.3/10.[/h1]Ah, [i]And Yet It Moves[/i] – I remember when I had first heard about this game: on the Wii, as featured in an issue of the (now-defunct) magazine, [i]Nintendo Power.[/i] That was ages ago, of course, but I had gotten the game prior to the Wii Shop Channel's close. This was when I had had no source of income—having been just a kid at the time—so I had had to ask my parents for a Wii Shop points card. And it was worth it, [spoiler]although I had never actually beaten the game until I decided to play it again on here[/spoiler].

From the preview screenshots for this game, one can tell that this game has a “paper”-esque aesthetic. [spoiler]And the unnamed protagonist is about as delicate as that – I died so many times from fall damage alone.[/spoiler] Running through the environment and rotating the world to change the direction of gravity, the goal is (literally) a goal—a piece of paper with a cut-out outline of the protagonist—which, upon entering, leads to the next level, until the final goal, [spoiler]the end credits, which, itself, is a playable level; after which, the game officially ends.[/spoiler] Avoid obstacles and traps, [i]et voilà:[/i] that's the game. Sound easy? It's not. [spoiler]It's, like, medium-difficulty or so.[/spoiler]

In addition to the aesthetic and gameplay, the [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xabYn35ngaY]aleatoric[/url] soundtrack is worth noting.

Compre este juego solo para revivir la epoca en el que lo tuve en la wii
pero me lleve la gran sorpresa de que no tiene soporte para dispositivos actuales y que este error ya no se corrigió nunca.
Una lastima que deba reembolsar un juego por que ni siquiera pude jugar bien.

interesting puzzle platformer
a lot of the time the answer is presented to you, it's just a matter of skill whether you can pull it off
the texture design is incredibly unique as well with it's weird collage design and the sound design works with it

quite short tho would like more levels and chapter + maybe modes :) (quite an old game tho i don't see any of this happening)

It's...interesting? And challenging. But then that might just be because I didn't realise you could actually move without turning the world until I was ready to quit for the day. It's definitely something I'm gonna come back to until I either work it out properly or get too frustrated at my own stupidity!

And Yet It Moves is a short game, but it is absolutely incredible when it comes to puzzles and creativity. I'm so happy it's available on steam. While it was always more fun to use a Wii remote to control the game, controller is perfectly fine as well.

I got this game way back when, from one of the first Humble Bundles, and I almost beat it, then left it for 10-ish years, until recently.
It is still a really fun title. The mechanic of rotating the world around you is used in a myriad of ways - it's challenging, but also satisfying to use once you get comfortable with it.
Unique artstyle keeps the game looking fresh after so many years, it sounds great too (despite limited number of music/sounds). It's an easy recommendation from me.

And Yet It Moves is a tricky little puzzle-platform game with a very interesting game concept and lot’s of great – and sometimes annoying – challenges to solve.
In the game you have to guide an anonymous fella through a seemingly paper-cut world, but either walking and jumping or by rotating the whole world, yet keeping in mind always-present gravity and – even more important – momentum conservation.
AYIM dates back already to 2010, but it’s still lots of fun to play .. definitely a recommendation.

I played the WiiWare version back in 2010 when I was 9 years old. I came across this here PC version that was apparently released a year before the WiiWare version. I like how it plays at 1080p compared to the WiiWare version which was played at 480p.

Tl;dr - And Yet It Moves is a chill enough game to get through. With the exception of some post-game bonus levels, the challenge is very fair, and you get an entry in the platforming genre that stands out from the crowd. If you can get past the gameplay flaws and desire a change of pace from your usual jumpers, consider picking it up. Just make sure you plug-in your own music to listen to….
