В целом, средняя оценка соответствует действительности, у игры не больше плюсов, чем минусов. Но среднего отзыва в стиме нет.

Главный плюс - атмосфера, хоррор-мистицизм в стиле Лавкрафта (аля Darkest Dungeon), поэтому для любителей жанра и такой эстетики можно рекомендовать. Кроме того, в общем и целом, не плохая пошаговая стратегия, поэтому игра также подходит любителям TBS (но только ярым [strike] задротам [/strike] любителям).

Возвращаясь к средней оценке, в игре масса минусов. Определено не разнообразный геймплей (вышедшее позже обновление, обогатило его, но не изменило ситуацию в целом). Нет какого-то серьезного вызова игрокам, игра проходится без особых проблем (и без интереса) на любом из уровней сложностей. Баги. Они есть, их довольно много и как очевидно их никто уже не исправит. (Обзор пишу значительно позже прохождения, не припомню что бы мне баги прям не дали пройти игру, но общее впечатление смазали).

На 100% игра проходится за 30 часов.

After fully completing the game, I can finally provide a proper analysis and recommendation.

I won’t go into too much detail about the plot or the overall premise. Watching a short gameplay video will quickly give you an idea of the direction and tone. What is important to understand, however, is the core gameplay philosophy.

This is not a game about eliminating every enemy you encounter or fighting your way through every challenge. In fact, attempting to do so will often be heavily punished. Stealth, positioning, and avoidance are the central mechanics. If you dislike sneaking, managing detection, and carefully planning movement, this may not be the right game for you. On the other hand, if you enjoy using traps, gadgets, and environmental manipulation to lure or misdirect enemies, you may find the experience very rewarding.

The setting is extremely dark and atmospheric. Early on, the game can feel overwhelming, especially because new players may assume they are expected to defeat most enemies, which is usually not the intended approach.

There are many gameplay systems, perhaps even too many. Players have access to charms and gadgets that modify and enhance loadouts, along with a variety of weapons such as swords, knives, and firearms. Additionally, traps and consumable items play a major role. Depending on your equipment, you can carry between one and three items, and once used, they must be repurchased or crafted. Since resources are scarce and expensive, the game constantly forces you to make meaningful decisions about when to use them.

One particularly interesting mechanic is the scent system. During combat, your hunters’ scent travels according to the wind direction, which changes each turn. This adds another layer of unpredictability and difficulty, making positioning crucial to survival.

Resource management extends beyond combat. Crafting materials are limited, and you often need to spend in-game days camping and hunting to gather supplies. This scarcity contributes significantly to the game’s overall challenge.

Characters can level up, but progression is not overly punishing if someone dies—even at maximum level. New hunters can be recruited without excessive difficulty, provided you have sufficient funds, which are also limited and must be managed carefully.

Pros:

High tactical challenge, especially due to semi-random enemy movement each turn

Dark atmosphere that strongly supports the lore and narrative tone

Meaningful resource management that encourages careful decision-making

Hunters can be customized and equipped individually

Engaging dark story that held my attention throughout

Cons:

Battles can feel repetitive, as the primary objective is often to avoid contact and escape

Music fits the setting but becomes repetitive fairly quickly

Sound design is somewhat limited, with minimal voice acting (often single-word lines)

The number of mechanics introduced can feel excessive and may increase difficulty unnecessarily

I would still recommend the game and personally enjoyed it quite a lot. However, it is important to understand that success comes from stealth and survival—not combat dominance.

A stealth-focused lovecraftian turn-based tactical game with RPG elements. Cool idea, not great execution. The "survival" aspect of managing resources and stuff disappears about 2 missions into the game, as you can grind resources whenever you want, endlessly, which kind of makes any kind of tension or difficulty evaporate. If that aspect had been actually tuned properly to force you to be scraping by, it probably would've had a lot more oomph. It's supposed to be an unwinnable battle against the enemies where you are forced to stealth, but you can actually get strong enough to pretty much wipe the floor with them (but your guys will generally get corrupted over time and lose control, if you do so, which kind of forces you to not engage with enemies whenever you want). Even so, I had fun with it. At least one glitchy achievement that you'll need to install an older version to get, but it should be able to be 100%ed.

Оружие разнообразно, расходники есть интересные, ОД и хиты только менеджментить неудобно. На миссию идут всего трое. Персонажи не сюжетные-именные, а случайно сгенерированные, чтобы в каждом перепрохождении получать уникальную команду. Не знаю насчёт перепрохождений. Не знаю, дошёл ли кто-то до конца. Меня хватило на час.

Инструментарий боевой-то есть. Только вот врагов убивать нельзя, [strike]потому что они разумные[/strike] [strike]потому что нужно остаться незамеченным[/strike] [strike]потому что герои крайне уязвимы[/strike] потому что при убийстве заполняется глобальная шкала у персонажа, как заполнится — помирает, меняй на новобранца.

А вот инструментария стелса не завезли. Есть идеально маскирующие кусты, и пара способов пошуметь (враг идёт к источнику шума). Усё. В это предлагается играть. Притом ещё и интерфейс не шибко удобный.

i was quite a wary about this game after reading all these raw reviews.
but i got it on discount and decided to give it a try.

first of all, it's NOT a game about killing monsters, gaining max possible experience per map and leveling up heroes to stratosphere.
it's a game about hiding in the bushes and getting away silently and unsmelled. and resources management.
when you grasp this concept - you will enjoy the game.
now, technically, there is nothing to stop you from playing in uninteneded way, meaning bringing your biggest guns and annihilating a whole map. you absolutely can. but you will gain nothing good from that. no extra experience (it's given only for mission goal), no resources, no powering up heroes (anyway their max level is very limited and almost no combat upgrades from level ups). on the contrary - heroes will get "corrupted" from unneeded kills and eventually perish.

another mistake with that game would be playing in iron man, especially on first run. in stealth game where being discovered generally means game over - you really want to have that load button available.

on the other hand - playing as intended gives you all content you need.
you get kill monster missions to test your combat skills without getting corrupted.
you level up your team by acquiring items.
you getting your dopamine boost from successfully finishing map, mostly unseen.

bugs.
the game has them. but every one yet i have encountered had workaround.
1. on my first mission when needed silently stun and kill an enemy - none of my heroes could hit it. i was pretty close to just give up on the game. but then i just passed a turn' let monster hit my heroes and after that the team could eventually kill it.

2. on first "kill death bearer" mission after it was hit with all my heroes and i passed turn - it just won't move on it's turn.
after some reloads, i realized that game doesn't like having all 3 heroes in melee range of that monster.
i could finish that mission with only 2 heroes near monster at every given time. but eventually brought guns and killed it from afar without engaging in melee.

3. not sure if bug of feature, but on last mission, purge all darkness has no map pointer and tainted shrine is not targetable by melee (didn't try ranged). after some trial i brought some damage dealing items and was able to overcome this one.

overall - i do recommend. it's very cool stealth game - giving you a different kind of experience.

Я посоветовал бы сыграть, если вы любитель стелс игр (к середине игры можно немного подзабить на стелс...но пренебрегать не стоит).

Баги,
В этой игре встречаются баги. Часто можно попасться на момент, когда ты хочешь выбрать другого охотника, но он у тебя не меняется и ты его выбрать не можешь. Решение: перезапустить игру, если даже после сейва и загрузки не помогло, или сохраниться и загрузиться на этом моменте.

Немного не продуманная экономика.
Тут очень просто сломать экономику. Если вы немного полазите в обменном пункте ( у нас 3 магазина и 1 из них имеет место для обмена ресурсами), то сможете прикинуть что дороже можно обменять, а что лучше взять. Но я вам и так подсказку дал сильную.

Небольшие детали.
Игра интересная, но не для всех. Врагов мало, но видов много (начиная от банально слабого врага и заканчивая с каким-нибудь эффектом (яд, кровотечение и тп)). Выбор оружия большой, но часто большая часть оружия сильно шумная и выдает вашу позицию. Напомню что у нас тут стелс игра, а не типичная стратегия, где всем все равно на шум от вашей пукалки.
Можно подметить весьма интересный стиль. Он просто интересен и не более, подчеркивает стиль и гармонирует с окружением.
Могу отметить что тут нет ОД (она есть, но немного переработанная). Тут она называется ВЫНОСЛИВОСТЬ. Если вы немного уделите время обучения и не скипните его, то там понятно расскажут как тут все работает. Тут нет ШАНСА ПОПАДАНИЯ с % вероятностью 99 и 1% промаха. Ваш персонаж всегда попадает в цель, а если ударить в ББ, то вы тока показываете направление откуда удар будет.

Немного сюжета.
Сюжет тут строиться на конце света, а мы как добрые ИЗГНАННИКИ и БОМЖИ, должны найти решение как спасти Колыбельную (название мира, где все происходит). Наш 1й персонаж, за которого мы играем и он с нами будет всю игру, Дюк. Он получил прозрение и ужас полученного откровения от мертвого бога (которого мы так же пытаемся найти).

Фракции.
Тут у нас есть фракции 4 фракции. По большей части, чем у нас выше влияние с ними (учитывается уровень, а не получение влияние, которые мы получаем за выполнение заданий этих фракций. Это считается как прокачка доверия к вам), тем круче и дешевле они дают нам приятные ништяки( начиная от простой еды и заканчивая артефактами, которые сильно прокачивают ваших ОХОТНИКОВ).
Вы тут не чем не рискуете, если вы переживали из-за потери доверия фракций. Тут даже нет войны между ними (хотя она тут и нужна).

Приятная деталь.
Если у вас есть охотник, который прям совсем плох, но мы не желаем его выгонять и он высокого уровня ( тут всего 6 уровней), то принесите его в жертву и усильте другого охотника ( вы просто переливаете опыт одного охотника в другого, но вы теряете небольшое количество. Если у вас бомж был 6 уровня, а новый охотник 1, то вы потеряете 1 уровень. Значит, наш новый охотник будет 5 уровня и у него останется в запасе 300 опыта для перехода на новый уровень).
Все охотники, которых вы нанимаете, имеют свои характеристики и свои предметы. Их можно сразу отправлять в бой и не бояться что они помрут там...если вы этого не хотите...
Характеристики охотников понятны и легко читаемы . Так же у персонажей есть сопротивления, которые отвечают за защиту охотника ( чем ниже значение, тем они больше получают урон от того или иного эффекта).
Прокачка охотников тут нет. Прокачиваем их тока предметами и вооружением ( у оружия есть свои тегги, которые меняют характеристику персонажа и его инвентарь).

Итог.
Повторюсь, игра не для всех, но долю интересного геймплея может принести. Есть баги, но они не сильно портят игру и ломают сейвы. Сам лор игры интересен, так как это не просто О ДАВАЙТЕ МЫ УСТРОИМ МЯСОРУБКУ В ОДНОМ МЕСТЕ ! А ПОТОМ ПРДКРЕПИМ ЭТИМ СЮЖЕТНО! ЫХХЫ, а тут немного продумано и мы можем прочитать про некоторые места, которые раскрывают этот мир. Есть интересные описания оружия и артефактов, где мы должны понять как он работает и что дает.
Я могу тока советовать , а не рекомендовать ее. Видно что люди старались принести что-то новое в пошаговых играх, но выбрали прям узкую аудиторию.

На самом деле мне грустно признавать, что эта игра для меня оказалась провалом. В ней много приятных моментов и, если бы не некоторые НО, то я был бы готов потратить на неё все 40+ часов, которые игра требует для своего прохождения. Но, наиграв 15 часов, я понял, что достиг своего предела и продолжать игру у меня нет ни желания, ни сил.

Графика и дизайн (8/10)

Это, пожалуй, самая сильная часть игры. Визуальный стиль здесь - адская смесь из Darkest Dungeon, Don's Strave и Bloodborne. От первых двух игра унаследовала довольно грубый и чёткий рисованный стиль, а от последней - явные викторианские нотки и вайбы дикого запада, со всеми этими жилетками, широкопольными шляпами и мрачными особняками.
Всё в игре выдержано в едином стиле. Изображений НПС приличное количество...А вот всего остального очень мало. Визуалов Охотников, монстров, да и локации не отличаются разнообразием, пусть там и есть мелкие уникальные детальки. Спасибо хоть, что снаряжение честно отображается на персонаже. Впрочем, за столь приятный визуал.

Звук (3/10)

А вот что в игре очень плохо - это звук. По-сути, у нас один-единственный саундтрек на всю игру, пара десятков фраз от охотников, да небольшой запас озвучки монстров. Даже звукового интерфейса нет. И это в игре, где механика звука - это одна из основных механик! Спасибо хоть, что каждому монстру дали свои уникальные звуки.

Геймплей (5/10)

Суть игры заключается в управлении небольшим отрядом охотников, что путешествуют по миру, выполняют задания от обычных людей и пытаются существовать. При этом, я не просто так сказал "выполняют задания", а не борются с монстрами. Ибо прямое столкновение - это крайняя мера. В основе боя лежит стелс, так как большинство миссий от нас не требуют убийства кого-либо.
По началу эта механика работает хорошо. При стрельбе нас могут услышать, могут увидеть напрямую, а могут даже унюхать, что требует от игрока внимательно следить за каждым из этих параметров для выживания и тщательно планировать свой маршрут, пользоваться укрытиями и инструментами для отвлечения, а так же учитывать ветер.
При этом, монстры тут довольна разные. Какие-то не видят, какие-то громко кричат, какие-то работают сигнализацией. Однако, уже к трети игры стелс-механика начинает сбоить. Укрытий становится мало, врагов становится очень много, так ещё и ветер может резко обмануть вас и смениться в другую сторону, делая конфликт неизбежным.
А вот прямые столкновения здесь нежелательны. Охотники очень хрупки и постоянно находятся в меньшинстве, из-за чего бой с более чем 2 врагами в 99% фатален. Огнестрел же преимуществ не даёт, так как он может привлечь ещё больше врагов и при этом чаще всего может выстрелить лишь 1 раз до перезарядки. Казалось бы, хардкорность, продумывай игру наперёд, в чём проблема.
А проблема в том, что игра банально не даёт инструментов для решения ситуаций и при этом очень жестко наказывает за каждую ошибку. Уже на трети игры большая часть монстров начинает валить прокачанных охотников с одного удара, а из-за их количества ловушек и устройств просто не хватает на всех. А ведь враги начинают ходить группами по 3-4 штуки, прикрывая друг друга со всех сторон и при этом их движения максимально хаотичны, из-за чего приходится очень жестко сейвскамить.

Хорошо. Может быть тут есть интересная прокачка и разнообразные монстры, квесты? Тоже нет. Монстров 6+1 штука. Все квесты строятся по механике приди-найти-убей-уйди. Уровней у персонажей всего 6 штук по факту и все навыки распространяются только на лагерь.
Ах да. О лагере. Охотники хотят кушать, им надо крафтить снаряжение, искать ресурсы и лечиться, так что мы можем на привале отправить наших подопечных по различным делать. И прокачка позволяет делать эти дела эффективнее и безопаснее. При этом, ничто не мешает найти безопасное место и там просто заспамить сбор предметов, обеспечив себя ресурсами до самого конца игры.
Кроме этого, у нас есть открытый мир, где мы выполняем задания, а так же охотникам свойственно постепенно терять рассудок от убийства и поглощения монстров. Но, что приятно, мы можем не просто потерять охотника, а передать его знания новичку, что несколько облегчает игру. Хотя, вспоминая прокачку - это не так уж и полезно. Но сам факт того, что мы вынуждены не привязываться к своим героям и воспринимать их лишь как ресурс очень мощно влияет на восприятие мрачности этого мира.

Сюжет и Лор (7/10)

Должен сказать, что начало сюжета очень интересна. Бог этого мира погиб и люди остались одни против наступающей тьмы. Впрочем, между монстрами и людьми всё-таки есть охотники - некие создания, похожие на людей, но не являющиеся ими ни в каком смысле. И именно за них мы играем.
Мы знаем, что помимо охотников есть некий Город (до которого я не добрался), в котором обитают благородные дома и мы можем стать одним из их инструментов в борьбе. А на фоне этого, наш друг узнает нечто, что может сделать всю ситуацию ещё печальнее...
В общем и целом, мир у игры достаточно интересный, а многочисленные побочные квесты неплохо раскрывают его. Жаль только, что в игре нет адекватной энциклопедии, где можно было бы узнать всё, что интересно.

DLC, Дополнения, Бонусы (5/10)

Версия, доступная в стиме - это Definitive Edition. Там есть новое оружие и новые монстры. Кроме этого, каких-либо интересных и приятных дополнительных вещей в игре нет.

Баги, Фичи, Оптимизация (4/10)

Ох. С багами у игры куча проблем. Люди пишут, что при загрузке пропадают очки движения у охотников, что монстры ходят в ход игрока. Лично я сталкивался с тем, что у охотников нельзя сменить снаряжение, а так же некоторые товары в магазине не покупаются, хотя деньги на них есть. Кроме того, лично я не понял систему ходов, так как у меня были случаи, когда на ход охотников, у персонажей не было ни выносливости, ни очков движения.

Итог

У меня тяжелые взаимоотношения с этой игрой и я не могу рекомендовать её, но при этом она действительно может дать вам приятные моменты. Очень жаль, что стильная графика, прекрасная атмосфера и хорошая история разбивается об очень однообразный, затянутый и плохо сбалансированный геймплей. Мне хочется её пройти, но на одну успешную миссию приходится 10-20 перезапусков, порой, даже на первом ходу.

Langweilig, ständig dasselbe: Immer getarnt bleiben und schleichen, Monster entweder abknallen, oder drum rum schleichen. Entweder Dinge aufsammeln, aktivieren, oder bestimmte Punkte auf der Karte erreichen, das wars: Immer dieselben Gegner, gleichen Missionen und die Karten sind viel zu groß, so dass sich alles noch mehr in die Länge zieht. Ich spiele das Spiel nur noch wegen der Story und in kleinen Dosen, anders ertrag ich das nicht, aber es ist schon bezeichnend, wenn nur 5,9% der Spieler den ersten Akt der Story absolviert haben... Achja und jede Menge Bugs, also Finger weg - Don't buy!!!

Most of the recomendattion are right, i mean, the story is awesome, the estethics and lovecraftian aura and mystery is pretty impresive, even the mechanics you can enjoy it, but the many bugs, the corrupted save files, the hunters not dying, making glitch with charms, no penaltys sometimes.

Also, when in late game you can actually instakill every enemy while stealth and ripped with the darkness, at the same time, missions gets boring and repetitive betwen each campaign. Moreover, the rewards dont seem enough for the effort, you can get op with so little once you understand the battle mechanics.

I'll recommend it only if you are interest in the story and the ambientation, altough, patience with the repetitive quest and occassional bugs.

I'm truly sorry because I TRIED to like this game and I started playing it with cure and precision since I read it was an hard, unforgiving game, and it is (for the wrong reasons, but nevermind), but the problem isn't even that.

The game is not only poorly balanced, but is INFESTED with bugs, bugs of the worst kind: menus disappearing, icons becoming unclickable and top-of-all the game freezed to the point I had to hard-shut-down my PC, losing my progresses, after I had tried tabbing, alt+F4 and even ctrl alt canc without any response.

Maybe I will follow some gameplay on YouTube, the story seems amazing but that's not enough to punish myself like this.

I am truly, truly sorry, but playing this game is like seeing the screenplay of a Kubrick's movie directed by Michael Bay.

I really wanted to like Alder's Blood - thick, Lovecraftian atmosphere, mixed with a bit of Western feel (but, for the most part, wearing Bloodborne's Gothic/Victorian influence on its sleeve), pretty commendable lore, worldbuilding and story, a lot of tactical options (on paper), stellar artstyle...

However, the devs (regrettably) just didn't have it in them to stick with the game and address countless issues, be it concerning design choices, balance or numerous bugs that still plague the game (yes, even in its "Definitive" state). For starters, the corruption mechanic does not work as intended - I only had one casualty, and this was a hunter that had 0 corruption, was benched at the camp (so not in my immediate posse), yet somehow managed to gain corruption in that passive state and go mad in the end, dying in the process. This also comes as a stark contrast to my Alpha (and Omega) team of three hunters, who never got any corruption no matter the number of missions they participated in or monsters killed, and were at maximum level 6 since 1/4 of the game up 'till the end. So, if you want that "no hunters dead" achievement, tough luck because the game is bugged.

The second bug that irked me concerned the Heavy Bore Pistol - after equipping it on my hunter, I was subsequently unable to swap it out. I tried everything, from swapping out small weapon slot to swapping consumables and charms, but nothing got the Heavy Bore Pistol to get "unstuck" and get swapped.

There are also weird transitions in animations (particularly of hunters changing skins during reload animation, or Woods Witch taking the Beast skin when in downed posture), along with many missing weapon art.

Overall, as far as I'm concerned, I'd stay away from these developers in the future, and track the top-dog names in their company since they subsequently disbanded the company under which they made Alder's Blood, made a new company, and developed a new game called NADIR (Spire of Sorcery clone basically) which they also f***ed up and abandoned, making them pretty shady.

После крупного обновления не хочется писать о минусах. Тем более, что игру делает совсем маленькая студия, которая позаботилась о том, чтобы в игре был русский язык (изначально игра его не поддерживала).

Однообразный геймплей разнообразили новыми монстрами и механиками. Добавили новую сюжетную ветку.

Советую игру любителям пошаговых тактик, рогаликов, хорроров и Лавкрафтовщины.

This is a so-so recommendation. It's got a unique vibe and some nice stealth gameplay where you feel like an actual hunter facing beasts much stronger than any man. It has a nice intrigue story that starts to pick up as the mystery they present unravels.

But.

Bugs. So many little bugs everywhere. It's like this project was manually coded in places that shouldn't have been and this results in little oversights *everywhere*.

It's a nice passion project that could've used some additional rounds of testing. For what they bring to the table, yes I did enjoy myself. The bugs were frustrating at times, but I did manage to finish the story.

If you like cowboys, beasts, and stealth gameplay, give this one a try.

[b]To their credit the game devs tried something a little different with this game, but as anyone who's tried pickle flavoured ice cream will tell you: "Different isn't always good".[/b]

The game can best be described as a stealth focused turn-based -tactics, squad management game. The problem is it doesn't do any of those things well, but more frustratingly you can always see where it could have been great with just a little more polish.

The stealth aspect is the key thing and to be fair its the best done. YOu have to keep out of line of sight, and the fact that enemies can pick your scebnt up means you ghhave to keep track of the wind direction,, all while using noises and traps to misdirect enemies and cover to avoid detection.

Sounds great right?
Then you play it and you realize that the game is just not well laid out. Look as much as the game tries to dissuade you from killing stuff, by both having mechanics that penalize you, and making killing abnything a chore, the simple truth is you have to and your life will be much easier butchering the monsters. This is because your field of awareness is actually pretty small and there's a bit of inherent unpredictability with the patrol routes and the randomly changing wind. Sop you're going to wind yup just slowly killing things as yourprogress through various missions.

The turn-Based Tactics are fairly decent but here the game suffers from too much predictability. YOur attacks can't miss. Like at all. and you have a wide variety of tools for disabling, and tricking enemies,. But again the tactics go iout the window when you realize stealth is a waste and so you just start loading out with long range rifles.

Are you seeing a pattern here? Everything the game does is tedious. There's little build up or flavour to get you excuited and even your hunters are so generic that the loss of one or three won't really bother you. Researching new tech is useful but just gives you slightly better tools and the research only progresses when you park your ass and camp in place. Basically you have to actively click the wait a day button 10 times to research anything.

And then there's the bugs.
This game is buggy. Many of them requiring a restart of the apoplication. A commonone is the game simply locking up during camping transitions,. After clicking 'Wait a day' . And remember what I said about research requiring you to do this repeatedly... yeah. Also in moving from one area to another. I triggered a crash just by apparently trying to attack anenemy...there are bugs all over the place.

This game FEELS rushed. Like the devs ran outta time or money and just wanted to get the thing out the door so they could move on to new projects. The facrt that some of these bugs I mentiionedhave gon un patched kinda shows that. Try it if you're curious but don't expect much. TYhe story is kinda nice but there are better games, and I say all this as someone who loves these kinds of games.

I can't even recommend it for people new to the genre because it will leave a terrible first impression. I can't recommend it to veterans because it will just make them want to play the better games they already ghave. The only people that might appeal to is the 'curious' . But even then...

If the devs ever fix the bugs or opolish up the gameplay I'll likely revise my stance, but as it is...play something else.

Esto ha conducido al nacimiento del clan de los cazadores, unos devotos cuyo objetivo es únicamente mantener a las bestias a raya. Controlamos a Chief, el líder de los cazadores, el cual tiene el objetivo de destruir el cuerpo de Dios para frenar la destrucción del mundo tal y como lo conocen. Deberán unir fuerzas con otras facciones de humanos en una sociedad patas arriba y sumida en el caos.

[h2]Jugabilidad / Apartado técnico[/h2]
Tiene muy buena historia, interesante y algo diferente. El aspecto gráfico destaca por un diseño atractivo y la jugabilidad incita a intentar pasar las misiones siendo lo más cauto y sigiloso posible, porque Alder's Blood no es un TBS de acción, si no táctico y de sigilo. En cada misión deberemos tener presente el rango de visión, dirección del olor corporal y la búsqueda de coberturas para pasar desapercibidos, ya que el enfrentamiento directo con los enemigos es sinónimo de suicidio. Dispondremos de una gran cantidad de armas e items, pero dado que luchar contra varios enemigos es inviable al final acabaremos usando las mismas armas/estrategias que funcionan en todas las misiones. El juego tiene una mecánica de recursos (alimento, materiales, etc.) que debemos tener en cuenta para sobrevivir. Para ellos tendremos que gestionar los descansos y los roles de cada cazador, mandando algunos de ellos a obtener víveres, mientras otros descansan y recuperan fuerzas para combatir. No hay penalización por tardar en realizar una misión y el sistema de facciones o de corrupción realmente no tienen un peso claro en la historia.

[h2]Valoración[/h2]
Alder's Blood está cargado de bugs, desde pequeños problemas gráficos hasta fallos que impiden avanzar en la historia o que colapsan el juego (y no tiene pinta de que se vayan a arreglar). Además, bajo mi punto de vista se hace excesivamente largo y monótono; la falta de variedad de enemigos y el hecho de que aparezcan todos casi desde el principio hace que todas las misiones sean prácticamente iguales. Se echan en falta objetivos secundarios u objetos que buscar en las misiones para darles algo de gracia, se siente todo muy vacío. Poder guardar la partida a cada instante también resta mucha dificultad, ya que da igual la decisión que tomemos, siempre podemos cargar partida.
Los logros se pueden completar en unas 30-40 horas, siendo el logro de completar el juego sin perder ningún cazador el que puede dar mayores problemas. En definitiva, una gran idea que debido a la falta de pulido y a la escasa de variedad se queda en un juego más que no destaca. Ciertamente le gustará a mucha gente, pero no es algo que repetiría.
No lo salvaría en un incendio 👨‍🚒👎🔥

I really like this game so far. Usually I hate stealth games but this one is quite fun. I like that you can save anytime,it also autosaves before each bit of combat so you can redo any mistakes easily. The combat is like a puzzle which is what makes it enjoyable to me, in fact it reminds me of Overland another game with fun puzzle like combat. Strategy should be like a puzzle to figire out but it so often isnt or its so dull you cant be bothered. I know this game has a lot of downvotes maybe partly since it apparently was changed a lot during development but i say give it a try.

El juego promete pero debe pulirse mas. Respecto a los bugs solo encontre uno que paraliza todo el juego al usar la pistola. El diseño de los menus necesita mas trabajo en general. Su banda sonora es funcional pero hay veces que directamente no suena o no responde a la situacion del momento. El mundo que plantea es interesante, hay lore para ver y las mecanicas que plantea tambien son interesantes, si te gusto Invicible Inc. este juego puede llegar a ser similar.

It might just be resolution issues and scaling making it hard to play but when games have hidden bugs all over the place you have to wonder what else is going wrong and how would I even know if it's working properly.

✔️ Interesting and innovative stealth-based gameplay mechanics in a tactical RPG centered around avoidance and assassination.
✔️ Beautiful 2D artworks in a grim style.
✔️ Intriguing setting and story.

💭 Some degree of gameplay mechanics bloat in the overland travel, but it works out pretty well with the rest, despite not bringing much to the experience.
💭 The writing quality is variable, some dialogues are good enough, and some are a bit awkward.

❌ The gameplay gets a bit repetitive sometimes (the game would have benefited from being shorter) because different enemies don't really represent a different menace to you thanks to the ability to one-shot anything if you got them by surprise.
❌ Pretty bad UX in all respects (non-intuitive UI, clicking on some elements sometimes triggers unwanted movement in combat, etc.).
❌ A lot of bugs and general lack of polish (a glitched quest kept appearing after being completed, reloading sometimes messes up enemy attitudes, some action effects don't fit with what they are supposed to do according to their description, some sprites change to another character for certain animations, etc.).
❌ Absolutely no choices in narration.

Overall I had my fun with this game so I kinda recommend it if you're into turn-based tactical combat, especially because its mechanics are rad, and its world is pretty cool all things considered, but be ready to have to overlook a huge amount of roughness. The game obviously lacked budget / development time to finish properly everything it tried to do - but the base material is pretty good.

A few bugs but nothing that has stopped me playing so far, a unique and different sort of TBS focusing more on stealth than combat, the setting is refreshingly different from the usual fantasy cliches with interesting art design and music score. A solid game shame the developers did not take the time to fully play-test and improve it but very playable for me so far, not one for impatient people as moves have to be carefully considered and combat entered into only when the odds are in your favour.

Alder's Blood is clever and insightful. It's possible to develop the game in several ways, be it following the main story path or the many of side missions along the way. When you hire hunters, their status and characteristics table is generated randomly, so the game can be always different regarding the characters. There's a myriad of items and weapons that you can combine among the hunters executing a mission. The soundtrack is good (could have more tracks) and fits perfectly to the game environment.

Alder's Blood me laisse l'arrière-goût d'un jeu au concept séduisant et à la réalisation bâclée Séduit par l'ambiance, j'ai fini par être écoeuré par l'interface qui pousse au clic raté et les bugs, ce jeu décidant de temps en temps de dupliquer des items à l'équipement, dupliquer des chasseurs lors de la modification du groupe, de geler au passage de jour ou detour de combat.
Ajouté à ces crispations, le sentiment de ne pas voir de progression/variation en combat les niveaux gagnés ne donnant que des compétences de camp.
Bref un gâchis.

I really like this game, but unfortunately I can't recommend it because of game breaking bugs. My 7 hours with the game came to an end when I reached a fight where no matter what I did, the enemy would not act on their turn. I also encountered another game breaking bug before that where I was unable to change the weapons on my party. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like the developers are releasing updates any longer either. It’s a shame, because the stealth tactics game play is great and the art style is beautiful, and the story is well written. I got the game on sale, but I can’t even recommend it for 75% off. Chances are, you won’t be able to finish the game.

"Alders Blood" has a very interesting premise and setting: A grimdark victorian-era post-apocalypse, in which god has died and its death caused a vile corruption that seeps through the land.

You play as a bandleader of outcast hunters - hunters with supernatural abilities that help them battling the numerous beasts romaing the land but make them also susceptible to corruption itself. The gameplay revolves around the overworld travels of your misfit band, meeting the numerous factions, gathering resources, supplies and tools and pursuing quests -and the turn based top-down hex-based tactical squad missions, which are often stealth oriented: Positioning is key here, for your hunters are outnumbered most of the time.
The game has an elaborate mechanic revolving around sound and smell: You can distract foes by tossing stones around the map, but watch out for the trails of odor following the hunters. Different equippable hunting items which can impair or distract enemies further increase your chances of survival, because when the beasts are alarmed they hit and they hit hard.

Some reviewers noted, that the leveling system is rather odd, because the more you use your hunters and the more daring you use them (by exploiting their special abilities), the more corrupted they get - up to a point, where you must sacrifice them. I found this mechanic rather refreshing, because the sacrificed character will transfer some of his expertise to another hunter, allowing a fresh cycling through the band.

So why a "thumbs down"?
The aesthetics and overall tone of "Alders Blood" is very atmospheric, the artstyle alone is a big selling point.
Unfortunately, all the good ideas gameplaywise and the immersion it creates are destroyed by still numerous and offputting bugs (like you use a stealthy melee-weapon, but the hunter-sprite attacks a darn shotgun, really questioning your sanity) and a rather janky UI. The perk system of your hunters is also quite barebones.

It is not a bad game per se, but it is really sad that it often stumbles on its own ambition, by tieing it together in a rather wonky package.

Still worth checking out, if you are up to something new in the genre and can cope with the numerous letdowns.

i want to say i love this game. it's a great blend of most things i enjoy in games. but polish is missing, when swapping weapons on your hunters it doesn't update right away and you need to swap hunters. after resting sometimes the animation bugs needing the game to be restarted. i hope this gets seen because it's really interesting. i do endorse this game, i really think the reviews give it too much flak.

I really wanted to like this, I really did, but I cannot in good conscience recommend it in it's current state.
Originally a Kickstarter backer, I was hyped after playing the demo.

I am however sad to say that the demo/prologue/tutorial is the best quality the game has to offer. The game LOOKS amazing. The graphics are top-notch and character design is ominous and foreboding. But sadly, it's like eating a gorgeous looking triple-layer cake and realizing it tastes like nothing.

Here's my issues with the game:
Combat is borderline infuriating at times, and not because it's "hard"
Mouse-controls only, the UI is unintuitive and clunky. You will way too often misclick and accidentally move a hunter when you meant to select a different hunter, or switch your weapon, or whatever, and receive an attack of opportunity if you were standing next to an enemy. The game forces you to play stealthy and punishes you for being spotted. Except. Line of sight is unclear at best and broken more often than not. Enemies who don't have a line of sight will spot you and immediately sweep in for an attack no matter how far away you were. The game is supposed to tell you which actions will alarm enemies but a lot of times the enemies are out of your own line of sight or vision range so you have no idea whether it is clear to move or not. This leads me to my second issue with this system. When being spotted, the enemy will immediately get a "reaction" aka a free attack. A lot of times, the hunter is immediately downed after this attack and cannot use any actions due to running out of stamina. (Receiving damage costs stamina) and will also not regain any stamina. So you often spend 2-3 turns in a row just facetanking damage and being unable to act. Sometimes the game will completely skip your turn even when your hunters weren't downed or out of stamina for no reason whatsoever. Combat animations are the same per each enemy type, which would be okay if they didn't have the same two animations every round, with the same screeching noise every turn. If you're fighting 5 Shriekers at the same time and they all take 30 seconds per turn to individually screech and do their attack, it really drags out the combat that isn't enjoyable to begin with. I really tried to enjoy it. Even if missions went flawlessly without issue, stealth-killing the entire region, it didn't really feel like a victory, there was no adrenaline involved, no excitement. Everything about the game feels stale and bland to me.

There are way too many bugs in the game, being unable to switch weapons, attacking with a melee weapon and your hunter firing their shotgun even when their melee weapon is selected, of course alerting every enemy in the vicinity. Developers have completely abandoned the game, they don't even bother responding/reading their discord and instead have moved on to their next title, Nadir. I hope Nadir will get more love than it's older sibling did. Adler's Blood felt as if the developers were testing the waters about making a turn-based tactical roguelike, and then realizing they bit of more than they could chew, they simply abandoned it and moved onto the next. It feels unfinished. It's a waste, because the game had so much potential, the first 30 minutes of the game (tutorial) feel amazing to play through, but sadly the enjoyment stops there.

Great concepts, great art, not perfectly executed. I love the many combat mechanics at play here. I like how there are many stats and ways to customize your characters, including voice, though the stats seem a bit unnecessarily bloated (for example, the 10 stamina = 1 bar, and 5=1/2 bar). The UI could use some polishing - sadly that probably won't happen now. I understand its supposed to be difficult, some of the challenge just seems like arbitrary limitation. For example, why start on the hunter you ended your turn with? This hunter has to move around the others if they are grouped, reducing their movement range, and so I have to select another one. Why are they able to use healing items at full health? And why are they able to attack thin air? I've played for only 3 hours, and already seen an invincible bat swarm (thankfully, not aggressive), which raised that question. Why does removing a charm destroy it? So many mysteries yet to discover...

I've been waiting a long time for this one.

There was a lot of heart poured into this project and you can sense it. From it's dreamlike, surreal imagery to great moody soundtrack, cool monster designs and digitally hand-drawn animations, there's a lot good to see. The storyline is decent and manages to draw you in enough to keep playing, while simple yet addictive gameplay loop with missions that are neither too short, nor too long create a pleasant experience in overall. A near perfect formula for a great turn-based tactical strategy.

Alder's Blood is set in a distinct gothic-victorian universe. Within it's cradle, once prosperous human civilization is now facing near extinction at the hands of a mysterious and corruptive force which twists and bends reality, creating horrors that haunt people from the shadows. It's incredibly atmospheric and equally crushing of a game where the thoughest opponent you'll face sadly won't be the Darkness itself, but a sea of game bugs that lurk at every step and corner of your gaming experience.

From a perspective of someone who's been following Alder's Blood since it's inception - it's clear this is a budget indie game, made in-house by a very small development team which jumped headstart into concept that was way too ambitious to be fully imagined with resources and time at their disposal. Between previously failed Kickstarter campaign, various development issues and clearly rushed release, game ended up on Steam as a half-baked product that's best described as an early alpha version. It's completely playable but choke full of small, irritating bugs and glitches which slowly chip away at your sanity. GUI/UX issues, level design issues, save state problems, screen lock-ups, broken or half-working mechanics, crippled crafting system, sometimes amateurish writing and spelling mistakes in the text. A true shame. I still enjoyed it very much and wish the dev team had been given more time to actually polish, enchance and properly deal with all the issues before the final release. It's a testament of publisher greed and failed promises.

I can only imagine what this game could otherwise be, along with an open Steam Workshop, scenario editor and devtools at disposal of it's playerbase. Unfortunately it is what it is - a truly wasted potential.

I won't be giving it a thumbs down - I really can't, as game is worth the money if not solely for the beautiful artwork and music, provided you're a fan of this genre. Otherwise thread at your own risk. You probably won't regret it, but you'll end up with a thirst for more and no wellspring at hand to quench it.

If you dig tactical stealth games and dark, almost Lovecraftian stories & atmospheres then this is a solid title at a reasonable price - even better if you get it on a sale. The story itself is one that I find myself intrigued by. It puts you into a post-apocalyptic world where God was once a very tangible and "loving" being, but was killed - and that act has thrown the world into Darkness. Now "Hunters" (enhanced human beings that fight monsters, very similar concept to Witchers I feel) try and solve the mystery behind everything. There isn't a lot of specific character development, as you only play a nameless Chief of a band of randomly named Hunters that have 0 personality. However the overarching plot itself is interesting enough to keep me going, personally. The game mostly presents its story in storybook fashion, even down to the sound of going through dialogue screens being that of a paper page turning. I think that's what has allowed it some forgiveness for lack of some other things.

That being said, it isn't a perfect game, and there are many times where it shows clearly as an "indie" title due to either bugs or a lack of fleshing out/polishing the story and game world. It's obvious that there wasn't a huge development team or budget behind the game, and frankly I find it acceptable despite that. So if you aren't into Indie games in general or expect AAA features then I'd wager you probably won't have the most fun.

And that's it for the gist of this review. If you want to keep reading, I'm just going to detail a couple of the potentially gamebreaking bugs that I encountered that did unfortunately hinder my appreciation for the game a little. In particular there's a good (good depending on your perspective) and a bad bug. Here they are:

Good Bug: I'll preface this by saying it's not really a bug per se, but more an exploit that basically breaks the game in your favor (and thus potentially ruining the fun though). At any time in the game you can go to the area called "Market" and in this area you can exchange your resources around for different types (i.e. turning Hunting Materials into Food or Silver or vice versa). The rates for such exchanges are egregiously high in the player's favor. You can literally buy Food from the Shop with Silver, then exchange that Food for more Silver than you bought it for, and rinse/repeat until you have infinite money/resources. TLDR it kinda defeats the purpose of most the game unfortunately since you don't need to scavenge EVER again.

Bad Bug: This one is certainly a bug, and it has to do with the Research Wagon. Along the course of the game you're given the ability to research new perks and crafting recipes for your crew - this acts like a branching tree where the better recipes are locked until you research the earlier ones. The bug is twofold; First, it will often times just not track your progress and force you to restart a research project all over which is silly. The second, which is worse, will have the game simply wipe ALL your research progress and put you back at research square one, with everything else locked in the tree again. You maintain what you'd already learned, but you have to go through the entire research tree again (repeating things you'd already researched) in order to get back to where you were. That one kinda sucks.

All that being said though? Still recommended! Bugs can be fixed eventually (hopefully), and it's got that low Indie price.

a good example of a bad indie game. It just feels so.. unfinished.
Throws a ton of mechanics on you without even trying to engage you into WHY you are interested in spending 20 hrs doing so.
Graphics are... meh. The art style is good but it is all so bare bones its painful to look at.

Overall it feels like someone read Lovecraft, played Darkest Dungeon, Bloodborne and XCOM and decided to make game. Lacking the skill and the resources to build something meaningful on the combination of these ideas.

Покупал на выходе, поиграл - не понравилось, вышел забыл. Недавно решил заглянуть, так как вроде новых патчей вышло несколько. Ну что сказать, было 3 противника, стало 5 вроде. Добило это интереса игре? Нет. Добавили новый скин на персонажа, а все анимации остались от прежних (т.е. при статичном положении у персонажа скин один, когда он начинает двигаться или производить какие-то действия, то другой) - это полный треш. На это мне всё стало ясно об игре, вышел - забыл навсегда.

Honestly, the amount of bugs in this drove me to leave a review, which I don't normally do - yes, it seems I am one of those. It's not great I know, and yet for a Definitive Edition.. why does this game run like a beta test?

Why does inflicting Maimed and preventing melee attacks cause enemies to freeze on their turn as they presumably freak out at being unable to engage in melee? You can just sit by and watch it be there turn endlessly because it's not like the game has seized. The AI simply won't take the turn.

Why do completed events need a game restart every 1/1.5 hrs to progress or you end up staring at the same mission screen as if it was never completed?

Why do you end your turn only to have enemies take theirs, to then get to yours again but find it automatically passes once more for good measure?

Why are the ability pics white boxes with no art, with a correct title, and PLACEHOLDER text? Take Hip-Fire for example on Repeater Pisol. It's a white box with no image, and it's tooltip and instructive text is: "asdasd" .. is this a joke? This can also be seen on the greatsword's Counter-Slash.

Play this buggy mess on Ironman and you'd not feel punished by the difficulty, you'd feel punished by the train-wreck of it's programming. It sucks to say as Alder's Blood had a really cool theme, art, and idea plus ample time to sort out what are fundamental basics, but it's been let down once again. I've requested a refund - I may get it - I may not but either way this was an utter disappointment.

There isn't enough a point getting into the complete lack of QoL - no objectives page, no clear indicator of Darkness strength, missing tooltips in the codex.. it's just awful.

Really interesting storyline, combat is pretty good, overall gameplay is also pretty good, art style is interesting but the graphical representations, hunters and enemies, etc lack variety ...that said for an indie game everything is just above average with a unique story (dark/gritty/interesting). Pretty cool game, but it also feels very half baked in many regards, such as the level up system (where you just choose between one of five traits that are always the same -you don't even stack them as far as I can tell, so a level 5 character just has all the traits...) the character models (there are ~2 for each gender, 4 in total), the voice acting (which is usually just the first word/few words of every sentence, or just grunts), the combat (which hardly exists outside of stealth, enemies just obliterate your HP if they see you) and honestly even the stealth (you can stab a monster in the chest, run into cover, and then throw a rock in the opposite direction, and he won't even know where to look for you). So yeah, if this game were like 5-10$ i'd say buy it, but i think 20$ is kind of high for something that feels 'early access'.

This is a funky game, the art and style are top notch, but there is no substance. The missions are really lame and basically require you walk from grass patch to grass patch without being smelled. The game constantly punishes you for killing enemies, as such they are basically used like walking obstacles. doesn't work as a turn based rpg, and doesn't work as a resource management game. If you like turn based rpgs, nab Underrail or the og fallouts, if you like management, Darkest dungeon is better.

Ce n'est pas vraiment un mauvais jeu, mais je n'accroche pas. Il y a des problèmes de "miss click" qui pourrissent les run, on ne comprends pas toujours non plus pourquoi certains monstres vous repèrent alors que le vent porte votre odeur ailleurs, puis il y a ce système de corruption qui invalide vos compagnons petit à petit et personnellement j'ai beaucoup de mal avec ça, quand je développe un personnage, j'ai envie de le voir évoluer favorablement et non régresser. J'aime bien le art style mais je trouve que les maps ne sont pas très agréables à jouer. Bref, pour moi c'est plus une somme de petits trucs qui m’empêchent d'apprécier l'expérience.

Механика игры представляет собой сложную тактическую стратегию, где мы управляем небольшим сообществом охотников в мире всепроникающей скверны. Сюжет же повествует о начале конца времён. Давным-давно существовал некий великий бог, что даровал людям свет и безграничную любовь. Человечество жило в гармонии, но в один прекрасный момент эгоистичные создания пресытились заботой высшего существа и решили взять судьбу в свои руки, самолично уничтожив величественную сущность сталью и порохом. Они считали, что поступают правильно, но спустя время мир перевернулся с ног на голову, тьма заполнила собой мир, породив тысячи тысяч отвратительных чудовищ: оборотней, ведьм, ходячих мертвецов и прочей падали вмиг спустившей зазнавшихся людей с пьедестала единственных обитателей этого мира.

Но не всё было потеряно, ибо последними своими молитвами бог наделил часть людей даром… и проклятием. Они стали охотниками, изгоями общества, не похожими на основную часть ныне живущих, но отныне обладающими силой неведомой сущности разлагающегося трупа тёмного бога. Собственно, мы возглавляем одну из немногочисленных групп местных аналогов ведьмаков за руководством почтенного седого джентльмена с кличкой Шеф и пытаемся распутать клубок событий, способный остановить надвигающийся Апокалипсис.

О сюжете можно лишь сказать, что лор достаточно глубоко прописан в диалогах между харизматичными персонажами и очень хорошо раскрывает основную историю игры.

[h1]Мы – охотники, привыкли защищать и оберегать тех, кто нас презирает[/h1]

Переходим к игровому процессу, где каждое дело стартует с экрана выбора снаряжения охотников, где можно выдать им снаряжение или заменить их в случае необходимости на других. Мы управляем отрядом из трёх выбранных охотников и перемещаемся по карте гексагонного формата, выполняя задания формата: «Иди туда», «Взаимодействуй с предметом» или «Убей N-количество монстров поблизости». Несомненно, разнообразие заданий ставится под большое сомнение, но интереса данным действиям придаёт тот факт, что монстров в разы больше и вам необходимо действовать максимально скрытно от глаз порождений скверны, иначе вас просто задавят количеством потому что увеличения отряда нет и вам даже под конец игры придётся носится по огромным локациям всего лишь тремя персонажами. Пусть и более прокачанными, но факт остаётся таковым, что людей на большинстве заданий попросту не хватает.

Крайне интересной механикой скрытного перемещения также является радиус запаха, индивидуальный для каждого охотника. Он зависит от направления ветра и общих погодных условий, которые в совокупности оказывают огромное влияние на тактический аспект игры. Мало того, что монстры перемещаются абсолютно хаотично, так они элементарно могут зайти в зону распространения и учуять вас, накрыв минимум одного члена отряда, а то и всех вовсе, деревянной крышкой гроба. Ещё у монстров есть механика слуха и зрения, но если со второй всё понятно, так как допустимый радиус виден при помощи специального Шестого чувства охотника, отображающего силуэты и направление взгляда всех врагов, то вот с первым получается забавная ситуация. То есть, в игре присутствует камень, который вы можете кинуть, создав достаточное весомое колебание звука и монстры тут же повернутся в сторону источника, но, например, пробежав в шаге за спиной у этого самого монстра, он даже не обратит на вас внимание, томно пялясь в первоначальную точку. Данный пункт можно оправдать тем, что скрытное перемещение и так выглядит достаточно сложным, учитывая так называемый фактор распространения скверны, где при убийстве монстров вне цели задания на фактического убийцу будет накладываться штраф скверны и со временем он может тупо сойти с ума, но то, что они не слышат охотников прямо у себя за спиной, выглядит странным. Конечно есть какой-нибудь Несущий смерть с ориентацией чисто по слуху, но это скорее исключение из недоработанной механики.

Помимо тактики также существует перемещение по глобальной карте регионов. Сами регионы аналогично представляют собой гексы с одинаковыми на вид локациями в одинаковых местах, но вот сами локации каждый раз преподносятся по-новому. Учитывая количество тех же дополнительных заданий, разнообразие проработанных участков, казалось бы, протоптанной местности удивляет. Но, увы, игра не генерирует карты в случайном порядке, так что при втором прохождении вы уже точно будете знать где-какая карта вас ждёт и как максимально выгодно по ней передвигаться.

Поскольку охотники ведут кочевой образ жизни, лагерь автоматически разворачивается в регионе вашего местонахождения и состоит из нескольких повозок и лежанок, основные из которых – штаб с доской назначений поручений и верстак. Доска – это поле менеджмента всей группы, где каждого члена лагеря можно отправить в дозор для предотвращения нападений, за поиском ресурсов и еды, а также за верстак для ускорения создания предметов и на отдых в случае ранения. Ещё имеется дерево, где вы можете повесить осквернённого охотника и тем самым принести его в жертву, дав замене силу павшего воина.

Крафт делится на три категории: оружие, как стрелковое, так и холодное, обереги для усиления статусов охотников (здоровье, выносливость, видимость, уменьшение запаха) и дополнительные предметы для помощи им в бою по типу аптечек, сонных зелий и т.д. Их разнообразие огромно и может пополняться чертежами у торговцев из населённых регионов вроде Рынка или Короны. Сами ресурсы делятся на еду, расходуемую при перемещениях и прокрутке дней, охотничьи материалы для простых предметов, механические части для сложного оружия или предметов и оккультные материалы для создания оберегов и вещей с упором в потустороннюю магию. Несмотря на вышеописанную сложность, все ресурсы добываются более чем легко, а прокачка охотников к середине игры позволит создавать мощнейшие орудия убийства, задействовав всего пару человек.

[*]Игра обладает одновременно очень яркой и в то же время мрачной визуальной составляющей, которую разработчики будто бы рисовали своими собственными руками. Комиксная рисовка приятно вписана в мрачные реалии сюжета проекта и крайне удачно его дополнила.

[*]Саундтрек величествен и мрачен, как и подобает общей концепции подобных игр. Разнообразие минимальное, но в качестве эмбиента на заднем плане более чем устраивает.

По итогу мой отзыв о проекте положителен. Игра имеет все шансы стать одной из нестандартных неплохих стратегий, которую вы просто обязаны пройти хотя бы один раз. Лор, визуал, аудио сопровождение вместе создают атмосферу угнетающего тёмного фэнтези, которое пусть и слегка банально, но заслуживает место под солнцем.

В этой игре отличный визуал, есть неплохой сюжет и управление лагерем. В первый час игры ты ощущаешь, что этот начальный стелс скоро превратится в знатные сочные побоища, но... этот момент не наступает. Игра не мотивирует игрока убивать врагов в миссиях - почти всегда лучший способ обойти противника стороной т.к. в схватке боец может потерять рассудок. И в итоге мы получаем, что сочных сражений в игре так и не будет, а грустно :( Игре большой плюс за рисовку и сеттинг вцелом, но минус за недоработку главного аспекта игры - азарта и интереса к прохождению. Поставлю позитивную оценку т.к. игра понасыщеннее многих проектов в своём сегменте, но имейте ввиду - если не любите стелс, эта игра не для вас. Even though Alder's Blood is rough around the edges (game-design-wise, mostly), the game has a lot of heart in it.
The art style is absolutely gorgeous, and the world seems to hold enough mysteries for you to reveal.

Ok, so this is not a game for everybody. It may be boring and I think it lacks polishing mainly for the camping and travelling systems. Although I still recommend this game if you are into cosmic horror or dark phantasy lores, because it really let you dive into that cryptical grotesque feeling. The story is well made, the art is well made, the combat (although I see people complaining a little) is really interestingly built, so I found myself caught by the game. I think it might still needs some updates for quality of life, but I see the devs still work on it, so, in short:

Buy it if you're into the Cosmic Horror / Dark Phantasy themes and/or buy it if you find some good sale. It's worth even if you want to criticise it, just give it a try.

I haven't spent nearly as much time with this game as I'd like, but I'll say this:

- What this game nails most is the feel of a dark, almost gothic alternate universe Western; the art is awesome; the music is understated and underrated, IMHO.
- The addition of a "scent" mechanic makes for a legitimately interesting experience.
- I've mostly been stealthing my way through the game. While the game seems tilted more towards a non-stealth style of playing (you can't always ghost your way through a mission, for example), trying to sneak past enemies is a fraught and tense experience, in a good way.
- The developer has appeared to be very responsive to the community and that is always a good thing.

This has game has been challenging, but fun so far. The sound and scent mechanic are what make combat risky and challenging for me. The story is interesting and if you like the kind of games where your choices matter, then this is the game for you. I would recommend.

The style of the game is fantastic. The story and world feel vibrant, alive, and well-thought-out. I just wish I was better at stealth games so I could enjoy it more.

That's no reason for me to knock the game, though. It's clearly spelled out when you're going into it that you're not going to be able to Rambo your way through everything - in fact, the further in you get, the harder that becomes. That said, there are some instances in which I found the only way to win was to kill everything in sight (which was immensely satisfying after hiding for so long).

The look and description got me in the door, but what really drew me in was the philosophical and theological questions posed. What is a god? What does it mean when god can be killed? Why did God's death *create* monsters? Was God ever truly good?

That may not draw everyone in, but I have a feeling anyone that loves "Lovecraftian" themes will be intrigued by the lore of this game, even if it's slower to give you answers than Lovecraft himself.

Tl;dr, If you love a game with great visual atmosphere and Lovecraftian philosophical themes, and you're not terrible at stealth game (if that's a dealbreaker for you), then pick this up. You won't be disappointed.
