A classic from 1997. But like the games of this era, this is very hard to know what to do and where to go, and there is some timed puzzles and pixel hunting and a bit of moon-logic. I recommend using a walkthrough. There is a hard mode but I think the easy mode is hard enough.

Der Nachfolger [i]Tony Tough 2[/i] hat den Sprung ins 3D versucht – und ist damit gescheitert, wie so viele Adventures jener Zeit.
Was bei [i]Simon the Sorcerer 3D[/i] und [i]Monkey Island 4[/i] schon nicht funktionierte, zog auch Tony in die polygonale Todesfalle. Ich habe es nie gespielt – und vielleicht ist genau das das Beste, was ich dazu sagen kann.

Hra pro mě má speciální hodnotu, protože jsem jí v dětství hrála s rodiči. Není to sice žádný Posel smrti nebo The longest journey, ale pokud se chce člověk odreagovat, určitě doporučuju. Cd verze hry měla dokonce i český dabing, co si tak pamatuju. Cením snahu použít 3d od takové niche hry, která vznikla 1997. Jediné, co bych vytkla, ale nejspíš nebude chybou vývojáře, ale spíš věku hry, je že na začátku se mi strašně stává, že se hra při dialogu nebo animaci zasekne a nejde dělat nic jen vypnout a zapnout znova, takže radši ukládat každou chvíli, ať nepříjdete o progres.

I'm sorry, it seemed fine at first, I just couldn't play it for very long after I got out the first building. The game quickly goes downhill; the dialogue becomes grating and annoying, and strangely mean-spirited in a way that's *not* like how Sam & Max games are. Each character became a pain to talk to, and you very quickly loose motivation to keep going with the story after that.

Управление не самое удобное, но терпимо.
Перевод и озвучка на русский язык хорошие. Есть огрехи. Озвучка ещё хороша тем, что собрались известные актёры озвучки и они очень хорошо сделали свою работу.

Не понравилась нелогичность некоторых действий (по моему мнению). Пришлось смотреть подсказки.
К концу игры стал уставать от пустой болтовни главного героя. Наверное, 80% его болтовни - это ничего не значащая для геймплея и сюжета чушь)

Поиграть можно. Хотя и показалось затянутой игра.

[spoiler]Если нажать "Действие" на молоте, в то время, как клоун показывает представление урне, то игра забагуется и вам нужно будет только перезапускать игру.

Если применить список ингридиентов на грустном пирате, то так же игра багуется.

Если посмотреть на моющие средства во время "затылковидения", то игра так же багуется.

Dopo quasi 15 anni rimetto mano su questa avventura grafica, forse la primissima con cui ho avuto a che fare. L'ho trovata, nuovamente, intuitiva, originale, godibilissima. Cosparsa di nonsense ironici ovunque e di riferimenti. Difficoltà media (ma solo perché certi enigmi sono fuori di testa), molto molto scorrevole. Trama simpatica e doppiaggi di qualità (vedi Luca Sandri).

Un gioco spensierato.
Consiglio il gioco nel periodo di Halloween. :-)

Spero di mettere presto le mani sul nuovo titolo in sviluppo.

On a scale from 1 to 5 I would give zero to one point.
1. In German version game crashes about half way through. No way to finish game !!!
2. I have asked for a refund but nothing happened
3. Text is almost unreadable because it blends into background
4. Thousands of lines of boring text but no actual gameplay like find and combine objects as i would have expected from an adventure game

one of the biggest mistakes buying this game on steam
would not even recommend it for 99c on sale

This is a really fantastic point and click adventure game! However, it can be HARD and I found myself getting stuck quite frequently (mainly because I accidentally missed a hotspot or an area that can be explored). Despite that, I managed to get through this game with no walkthrough, hence why I've spent 73 hours total on this game apparently! It's a fun one, puzzles are difficult and some puzzles are quite "out there" but I loved it! A lot of the more modern point and click adventure games are built to be a lot easier so it was nice to finally have a really difficult point and click adventure game to play! Loved the humour and the graphics. There are A LOT of different places to explore, the world felt really large to me which is another reason why I loved the game. Would definitely recommend :)

Das Spiel hinterlässt gemischte Gefühle. Klassisches Point & Click mit guter Grafik und toller Vollvertonung für die Entstehungszeit. Einige Rätsel machen Spaß, es gibt genug Orte zum Entdecken und schrullige Charaktere. Ebenso gibt es zwei Schwierigkeitsgrade.

Was mir den Spaß verlitten hat sind drei Dinge:
1) Ein unsympathischer Held mit dem ich nicht spielen wollte. Blöde Klugscheißer-Sprüche und sonstiger langatmiger verbaler Abfall am laufenden Band. Das traf nicht meinen Humor und hemmt den Spielfluss wenn man nicht ständig die Sprachausgabe abbricht.
2) An den Haaren herbeigezogene Lösungen für manche Rätsel. Für mich persönlich war sehr viel Ausprobieren (alles mit allem) angesagt, womit ich mir ungern die Zeit vertreibe. Zumal es ja jedesmal einen blöden Spruch gibt... Letzendlich habe ich einige Rätsel nachgeschlagen und wäre wohl auch nie von selbst auf die Lösungen gekommen.
3) Die Hauptstory war belanglos und uninteressant. Hier entstand nie Spannung oder Motivation.

Fazit: in den besseren Momenten ein gutes Point & Click, über die Strecke konnte mich das Spiel aber nicht überzeugen. Daher knapper Daumen runter.

Hatte es viel lustiger in Erinnerung...naja. Gutes Potenzial, offensichtlich viel Kohle und Aufwand reingesteckt (die deutsche Synchro ist top), Grafik der Zeit angemessen gut und witzig. Aber Design der Rätsel absoluter Mist. Nicht die Rätsel an sich, sondern wie sie erzählt werden. So bleibt oft nur vages Raten und probieren. Statt seitenweise unlustig und teils kontextlos Philosophen, Filme und die BIBEL zu zitieren lieber mal etwas Aufwand in eigene Texte gesteckt, und das ganze hätte ein Top Spiel werden können. Vielleicht liegts auch an der Übersetzung, aber mein Italienisch war grad in der Reinigung, deswegen musste ich es so spielen.....ja, so schlecht in etwa sind die Gags geschrieben

I really loved this, its a good old fashioned point and click with a load of wacky humour and some great puzzles. This game had me in stitches as well as making me use my brain to solve the puzzles so a good all rounder. To get the nest graphical results, which i must say were fab, beautifully drawn, i suggest running the game in SCUMMVM it works a treat then.

In a nutshell if you want a funny old school point and click then i would recommend this

About the original game:
I used to think this game was cool with the Halloween theme, beautiful graphics, wacky characters and quirky but rather irritating protagonist.
However this game is hard, and for all the wrong reasons. When you figure out a puzzle it's not a heureka! moment but rather "what the hell...?" kind of. So I think some parts of the game have not been designed and scripted well, or done so in a hurry.
However, the story is intriguing and you want to know what happens next so you keep trying.
It's gotten lot of negative reviews since it's release but I find myself coming back to this game time and time again.
It's a forgotten game from the 90's, haven't aged too well maybe but anyone who loves PnC genre and classic LucasArts style should play it. I just wish, there was a way to play the second game "Rake's progress".
About the Steam release:
There seems to be a problem with ScummVM games on Steam because you can't access program settings, those have been automatically adjusted for user(how kind!) and the program is not kept up to date. So this causes problems(bugs and crashes) and I'm not the only one experiencing it. Given that people give money for these products Steam really should get program settings up to date since this is not the first ScummVM game people have problems with.

I'm sad because the game looks good, and it's funny sometimes but it couldn't recommend it, not even to my worst enemy. The developers knew very little of how to make a graphic adventure fun. The puzles are most of the times completly random. There is no explanation of what you should do next, they just put you there to explore lots of screens without a clear goal. There is an excess of dialogues, most the times completely useless and meant to be funny. I gave up after the first 3 hours and completed it with a guide. Specially at the end of the game when I was reading the solutions to the puzzles my wtfs per minute were increasing more and more. Sorry guys, it could have been a decent game but it was not.

Funny enough Tony says that you shouldn't combine everything with everything, that that won't get you far. But that's the real only way to progress in this game.

Eines der besten K&P die ich kenne. Zurecht ab 16, sehr viele derbe Sprüche und Witze, hab viel gelacht. In manchen Spielen klickt man schon nach kurzer Zeit alles weg weil es nervt, aber hier will man keinen Text verpassen. Alle Dialoge sind auf Erwachsenenniveau. Die deutsche Vertonung ist auch eine der Besten die es gibt, haben sich ALLE richtig Mühe gegeben, auch wenn wenige Texte mit dem Gesprochenen nicht übereinstimmen, aber hab schon schlimmeres gespielt. Auf schwer ist das Spiel eine ziemlich harte Nuss, leider muss ich sagen dass da einige Rätsel ziemlich dumm sind und man eigentlich nur durch Versuchen und Scheitern drauf kommt *spoiler* wer kommt bitte drauf ein Stofftier in einen Wasserhahn zu stopfen? Auch sind einige Items schwer zu erkennen, man muss wirklich äußerst genau jedes Bild absuchen. Noch ein Kritikpunkt ist die schlechte Emulierung über Scumm hier auf Steam, das Spiel ist mir oft abgestürzt. Ist mir auch bei The Wardrobe passiert, echt keine gute Quali hier.

Ahhh How this Game started out so well! the first chapter in Tonys Office was Brilliant and fairly easy, humourous and enjoyable. Then it gets worse, the game starts to have to many objects and locations. To The point you have no idea what you should be doing. Most point & Clicks you can work out what you can use with what and so forth. This game (In Easy mode) is barely achieveable without a walkthrough and ends up just becoming tedious and Dull. The graphics are incredible and it could have been a great game but its poorly written and constructed. Such a shame!

Iniziamo con il dire che questa avventura grafica è 100% italiana, sia doppiaggio che software house che l'ha prodotto. La storia vede il nostro protagonista Tony in un caso di rapimento del proprio "cane" viola. Le sue indagini lo portano all'interno di un luna park e qui deve trovare il modo di trovare e liberare il "cane." Le cose buone di questa avventura sono il doppiaggio anche se i poveri doppiattori si son dovuti sdoppiare per coprire tutti i personaggi. Come ad esempio Emanuela Pacotto che ha doppiato tutti i personaggi femminili dalla vecchietta alla pappagallina. ^^; Invece il gameplay è il classico alla Monkey Island con il personaggio che va a zonzo tra le varie zone del gioco nel tentativo di risolvere gli enigmi che non gli si parano d'avanti. E qui iniziano i dolori, gli enigmi non sono propriamente logici. O meglio, lo sono, ma non arrivano indizi che ci troviamo di fronte ad un enigma. Ad esempio, ad un certo punto si raccoglie una bambola, non vuoi che la bambola combinandola con il vestito, serve per far passare la bambola come la propria ragazza per poter entrare insieme nel tunnel dell'amore. What ? Altra cosina, c'e un oggetto nascosto nel parco, che vi serve a superare un ostacolo, ma.. Chi va a pensare di dover esamirnare tutti i bidoni dell'immondizia del parco per trovare l'oggetto ? Cioè, rispetto all'inizio del gioco, la parte centrale dello stesso è troppo logico per i programmatori che non per il giocatore. E ciò per me è un difetto. Non so come sarà la parte finale del titolo che ancora la devo iniziare. Ma.. Il doppiaggio ottimo del personaggio principale + le situazioni divertenti, direi che può essere acquistato con un forte sconto. Ma attenzione che è invecchiato male riguardo gli enigmi. Quindi se pensate di trovare un simil Detective Gallo, starete andando troppo fuori strada. Non è altro che un fac simile di Monkey Island solo piu difficilino con enigmi non propriamente logici.

I'm sorry, I just couldn't continue playing this game. The main character just keeps trying to be snarky and witty, which he fails to do. That would've been ok, if they only didn't make EVERY SINGLE COMMENT an attempt at humor. You can't bl00dy try to open the door without Tony trying some failed witticism.
Sometimes I just wanted to look at something, or try something without the incessant stream of wannabe funny from Tony. Good grief

- altbackene Grafik die größtenteils von 1997 stammt und hauptsächlich auf dem Amiga erstellt wurde, mit aus Sprites zusammengesetzten Figuren vor handgezeichneten, teilanimierten Kulissen, wobei lediglich die Hintergrundbilder etwas schärfer gezeichnet wurden
- uncharismatischer, unsympathischer, erfolgloser, besserwisserischer und schwächlicher Protagonist der Läuse hat, an Blähungen und an einer Kohlallergie leidet

[b]FAZIT[/b]

Im Point&Click-Adventure von 1999 verkörpert man den Privatdetektiv Tony Tough und sucht seinen violetten Hund Pantagruel der zu Spielbeginn entführt wird.
Da ich dieses Spiel damals nicht gespielt habe, entfällt bei mir der Nostalgiebonus den andere Spiele aus dieser Zeit bei mir noch haben. Aber auch ansonsten finde ich dass das Spiel nicht an die großen Adventure-Vorbilder wie die Monkey Island Reihe herankommt. Ich finde den Grafikstil furchtbar und der Protagonist ist noch erbärmlicher und unsympathischer als Rufus aus Deponia, was ich nicht für möglich gehalten hätte. Die vollvertonten Dialoge sind zwar klasse aber das Spiel packte mich einfach nicht da mir der entführte Hund noch egaler war als der Hauptcharakter den ich einfach nicht verkörpern möchte. Ich bin sogar während dem Spielen eingeschlafen was schon ziemlich aussagekräftig ist.
Sicher gibt es dort draußen bestimmt Leute die das Spiel und seine Witze echt toll finden, für mich aber war dieses Adventure leider nichts, dass ich übrigens geschenkt bekommen habe.
Aufgrund der fehlenden Spannung und mangels Spielspaß von mir einen Daumen nach unten.

It's one of the most boring games I've ever played. The humor sucks, way WAY WAAAAAAY to many useless dialogs, the character is not very likable, a lot of dead end useless puzzles, and I'm only half way through. Don't even know if I'm gonna play any further, and I've never had that with any adventure game.
So I don't know why people find this a good adventure game (and I've played A LOT of them).
The visuals are great, but that's the only thing I can say is positive about this game, the story is reall crap.
So I think those 12 people that gave this a good review are related to the creators of the game.

Tony Vočko (Tough) mě provázel od mého útlého dětství, kdy jsem kromě lezení po stromech, hraní země-láva, taháním si za šůlo a leštění mého zlatého grálu v podobě prvního Playstationu, si našel zároveň i čas na mé tehdejší PC (R.I.P). Už tehdy jsem propadl kouzlu adventur a když jsem v obchodě zahlédl Tonyho Vočka, musel jsem ho kurva mít. Poprosil jsem tedy babičku, aby mi ho koupila. „C-cože? Už jsi dostal Kinder Bueno, ty nevděčný spratku, žádnou tu tvojí hru nedostaneš, stejně to zas hrát nebudeš!“ Prosil jsem tedy hodinu, dvě, šest-šest-šest, slíbil jsem, že budu hodný a poslušný, budu se dobře učit, ale babička byla neoblomná. Když už jsem se snažil upsat duši Ďáblu, přišla za mnou, že mi tu hru tedy k nadcházejícím narozeninám koupí. Byl jsem radostí bez sebe, Ďábel ovšem už tolik ne a dost na mě tlačil, ať mu dám trošku krve, že budeme navždy spolu. Jestli jsem odmítl nebo ne, nechám na vaší představivosti. Ovšem pokud to Ďáble čteš, vrať se prosím, potřebuji... No, dobře, jdeme pokračovat v recenzi. Pokud máte rádi vtipné adventury, je Tony Vočko pro vás jasná volba. Steam verze hry sice neobsahuje češtinu, pokud však vlastníte krabicovou verzi hry jako já (nebo umíte hledat), jež je v češtině, můžete si soubory z této verze přetáhnout do Steam verze. Jediné mínus je však to, že když hru spustíte přímo ze Steamu, nepůjde vám diakritika a nevypadá to vůbec hezky - a taky vás to po čase začne hrozně srát. Hru musíte pak spouštět jen přes ScummVM, který je obsažen již v Steam složce hry a diakritika vám půjde. Bohužel se vám nebudou započítávat odehrané hodiny, což mezi vašimi Steam kamarády vyvolá zděšení, jestli jste vůbec ještě naživu, když vůbec nehrajete. Ale můj osobní názor je takový, že za ten perfektní dabing a hlášky to stojí. (Pokud tuto recenzi čte nějakej nátěrovec, co to nějak pořešil a diakritika mu funguje, když hru spustí ze Steamu, prosím ozvi se mi, budeš mít mou nehynoucí úctu a možná ti propujčím jednu dívčinu z mé loli army). Se slzou v oku a na šůlu tuto hru prostě doporučuji. 666/10

Amazing game! Besides a few strange translation issues that actually give the game more charcter, this game is on par with Day of the Tentacle and Monkey Island 2. Funny and very challenging, with awesome cartoony graphics. If you're into classic point and click adventures, this is exactly the type of game that makes you wish there were more just like it.

Avventura grafica nostrana, italiana al 100%
Non c'è molto da dire, è un semplice punta e clicca tipo quelli della "Lucasarts", non offre novità a livello di gameplay.
[b]La difficoltà del gioco[/b] la si può scegliere tra "facile" e "difficile", nella parte difficile ci sono tantissimi enigmi da farvi uscire di testa come da tradizione in questi giochi (nella modalità facile un pò meno).
[b]A livello umoristico[/b] invece mi ha fatto molto ridere il nostro protagonista Tony Tough, tiene un carattere da "saputello" e allo stesso tempo da "fifone" ed è doppiato Divinamente (spesso balbetta.)
[b]I personaggi secondari[/b] anche sono molto divertenti e bizzarri al punto giusto, (mi ha colpito tanto l'animale ingabbiato che spesso recita Shakespeare).
[b]A livello di doppiaggio[/b] ho notato che ci sono solo 5 persone nel doppiaggio (e solo una femmina). Son voci molto note ed hanno fatto un buon lavoro (Manuela Pacotto ha dovuto doppiare tutte le femmine presenti nel gioco, sia dalle vecchiette che da ragazze).
[b]La trama[/b] invece potrei considerarla come una parte negativa, è piattissima e non tiene nessuna svolata particolare. Tratterà solo di salvare il nostro cane (tapiro) viola dal criminale di turno, che anche esso, non mi ha detto niente di che.

Don't buy this game from Steam. There's a bug which won't allow you to finish the game (read the community posts), and Steam won't refund because you have to play more than 2 hours by the time you get to the bug.

Bellissima la grafica in 2D, i personaggi sono buffi e ben caratterizzati, il doppiaggio è fantastico, le battute sono geniali e passano dal nozionismo scientifico e filosofico alla comicità più demenziale...il divertimento è assicurato!
Per non parlare delle animazioni, davvero ben fatte, i movimenti dei personaggi sono molto fluidi.
Questo gioco è a dir poco ECCEZIONALE e meriterebbe più notorietà.
Senza dubbio, è la miglior avventura grafica ITALIANA. Provare per credere!

The game is just as good as it was back in 1997. It may look a bit gory with the strong colors, but its surprising charm and wit are sure to win you over in a just a few minutes, and both visuals and voiceovers soon feels like a natural match for the whimsical story. This is a forgotten classic from a bygone era.

The steam release leaves a lot to be desired though, the only way I got it running at all was by configuring and starting scummvm manually and run the game outside of steam. I also think the price is rather steep for a 19 year old game (Even more so considering that they didnt even bother configure scummvm properly), so in the end I can only recommend technically savvy point-n-click fans to grab it at a sale.

An sich nettes Spiel! Hat sich bei mir nur leider als unspielbar erwiesen,weil ich das Gebiss nicht bekomme und mich die Bärtige Lady immer ohne es rauswirft und sich dann einschließt!Leider ist dieser Bug nicht behebbar und selbst,wenn ich strickt nach Spielelösung bis dorthin Spiele erhalte ich den benötigten Gegemstand nicht!Scheine aber,der einzige zu sein, der auf Steam dieses Problem hat!

Colorful backgrounds,good animations,cool voice acting , another blast from the past, dont just pass by.

Above that, this game goes through ScummVm and steam config file wont make scaling work, if you got same probs and want to get rid of black borders around the screen, just replace scaler set and turn aspect ratio on to avoid lag.
Or just clear this file -scummvm-tonytough-safe.ini- it can be found in the -ScummVM_Windows- folder in game dir. and put this working sets instead
