第三部要来了所以来补第二部了，解密部分比第一部要难，时长大概30分钟一个案子，很好打。诶呦侦探和条子的小互动真的很萌啊看得眼睛很舒服，还是我最喜欢的像素风美术，期待第三部
This was a great sequel to the first game, with just as much humor, fun, and sneaky references scattered throughout the game. I will say there are a few things that are less logical to figure out in finishing these cases, but it isn't too bad overall. Definitely worth the buy!

Is it worth at full price ? Yes but get it on sales.
A careful recommendation here. Why ? Because the first game did things way better than this one.
How is it possible ? Bigger cases, bigger levels, many more NPC's per cases... how more of the same can be an obstacle to having fun ?
Simply because Dooley becomes too wordy.... yes you heard... read me well. And He's not the only one. I started skipping entire dialogues because they were both useless and too long. And also simply because the logic of solving puzzles and combining items was really creative but not very logical. Most of the time. And the overall feel is less interesting than in the first game. Nearly all is about Dooley and McQueen is staying in the back, witnessing Dooley's (Family) life happening. This one becomes more infuriating than in the first game and even the few "team moments" make a weak impact.
That said, it began well !. Case 1 is splendid because it starts off where the first game did leave us. And Case 6 is all in all really nice and a good ending for the game. The bonus cases are hit and miss. While Case 7 is also very good, case 8 is.... not so interesting and quick to solve (except one thing).
Which brings me to the fact that, and you can read it in my review of the first game, I had to use a guide on many occasions. Mostly due to items I missed, but mostly because the logic of the game sometimes falls apart because the solution implies combining two items in location 6 and having to go back to location 3 to use the newly made item with another one on the scene.... well... And while I used the guide only once in the first game (on my third walkthrough though...) just because I had missed an item, here I had to skim through it many more times.
So why do I still recommend it ? Because it's some labour of work we have here. It's just that it tries too hard to make things looking bigger. I think more smaller cases would have hit the right point. Have bigger one from time to time with smaller one in-between. And make each scene worth our way in and out. make them more useful and don't flood dialogues with pointless chit-chat. Ok with small comical remarks here and there, play-words, etc. but here it was quite daunting to swallow.
But I wish them all the best and thank you for two good games so far and I'm still waiting for their third game. Hoping I won't have such a mixed opinion from the get go. And maybe that my future go in this 2nd episode will be a better ride than this first impression. I might even update my review by then.

Fun game. Each case can be played as a standalone and it's good for short sessions where you want to chill and play a comfort game. The comedy is good in some parts.
I had a really good time with The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark. If you liked the first game, this one feels like slipping right back into that same weird, spooky-but-goofy world. The pixel art is fantastic and full of charm, and the soundtrack fits the vibe perfectly while you run around solving supernatural nonsense.
The writing is probably the best part. The dialogue is funny and witty the whole way through, and McQueen and Dooley are still a hilarious duo. Honestly, they’re kind of couple goals in the most chaotic and silly way possible, and their back-and-forth is a big reason the game is so enjoyable.
The puzzles are mostly pretty chill and not too hard, which I liked. You can just enjoy the story and jokes without getting completely stuck. That said, there were a few puzzles where I just sat there thinking “how was I supposed to figure that out?” because they didn’t make a ton of sense.
Even though I really liked it, I still think the original game is a bit better overall. But this is still a great sequel and absolutely worth playing if you enjoyed the first one.

An excellent way to spend some free time! The humour is very Monkey-Island-esque with a sprinkle of (IMO) Johnny Bravo, which is impressive given the (intentional) pixilation of the characters!
The puzzles are not too taxing and the storyline is as good as any of it's genre. This will likely best suit casual gamers of a certain age, but there's plenty of entertainment for all ages in here!
All in all, excellent value for the money.

第二部比起前作在案件和攻略助手（误）的体量上都有极大加强！本作多了很多演出，解谜难度也是超级加倍，属于是对不上电波就死活想不到解法、但一旦get到逻辑之后二周目又能很轻易想起解题思路。相比于前作，这一部不仅陆续抛出重磅搭档情炸弹，也同时关注了其他角色的塑造，去到不同场景、遇见不同敌人也在逐渐将黑暗侦探的世界观背景构筑补充，个人感觉前作还像是单元剧作品，而续作则将前后剧情发展（诸如时间线因果、前后呼应的彩蛋之类）、人物情感发展（一些重大事件发生后角色性格变化）等等联系得更为紧密，更像是一部自洽而完整的作品了。年前一口气补完两代，燥候第三部！！！
依然吐槽二人组，依然美式幽默，比起一代地图大了很多，交互物品也增加了，但是故事性个人觉得不如一代，解密部分更加无厘头，部分过于简单，部分不含逻辑。总之一般推荐。
第二部每个案子的解谜和地图体量都比第一部大了很多，难度也增加了，更好玩了，狠狠推荐！

This game and the previous game are such fun games! It's a great set of bite-sized point-and-click adventure style mysteries with a variety of fetch quest style object puzzles and a charming set of characters. The sequel's mysteries are on the whole bigger/chewier "bites" - a decent bit more complex than the first game's, though they can still each be solved within a couple hours.

This is basically a perfect sequel in every sense of the word.
[i]A Fumble in the Dark[/i] isn't a personal 10/10 or anything, but I actually can't think of a real problem this game has. It fixes nearly every issue I had with the first entry, which I also wrote a review for. I thought the first game was pretty good, but had an inconsistent difficulty curve, strange case length pacing, and some humor that fell flat because the game seemed like it thought it was funnier than it actually was.
I'm happy to say that almost none of this is an issue here. This game's cases have an excellent difficulty curve coming off of the first game, with this game's first case (of 9) being [i]nearly as long[/i] as the last cases of the first game. This was a great choice, as it felt like natural progression - though I do feel the need to warn people that this [i]is[/i] a hard sequel and a lot of this game assumes you've played the first one and know the characters, setting, story, and comedic bits from that one. The puzzle design is just as strong and accessible as the first game, and some of the puzzle sequences are insanely inventive, particularly the second Bonus Episode, which is heavily reminescent of the penultimate chapter of [i]Sam & Max: Beyond Time and Space[/i] with its cross-time shenanigans.
This game also knows [i]exactly[/i] how funny it is this time. It's very funny, by the way. The comedy in this game hit for me way more consistently than the first one, and part of that is because this game made a conscious effort to define the characters and their individual interests, relationships, and skills way more than the first game while even providing some legitimate development to the characters and world. This works partially because of the groundwork laid by the first game, but the jokes in this one build on this universe in a very entertaining way. The interesting thing about [i]A Fumble in the Dark[/i] though is that while ostensibly a comedy game, several of the cases this time around can also be fairly atmospheric in their own way, and there's far more of a focus on actually having [i]cases[/i] (i.e. a mystery you have to solve) this time, even if they are often not complex.
This is just a really good game. You basically have to play the first one first to get what's going on here, but you should do that because this is an adventure game all-timer.
Feels like a big step back from the first game in every way.
Levels are bigger and longer but this just leads to more backtracking and having screens or "rooms" that don't feel necessary. There is way more moon logic and puzzle solutions that don't feel intuitive.

As somebody who loved playing through the first game, this is so disappointing. A huge step back in every conceivable way. Definitely a contender for one of the worst PnC games I have played in years. I gritted my teeth through the first two cases and have had enough. Maybe one day my frustration will pass and I can reset and come back to this. As of right now it is unbearable. The puzzles and logic are ridiculous, you will be clicking every little thing possible and dragging every item you can to random things to brute force your way through. The whole time the exact same droning track will be playing in the background and, OOPS, I clicked Dooley or something and spend 20 seconds clicking through text I already have read. The first case wasn't so bad, I enjoyed it mostly. The second however is agonizing. Then I got to case three and it has gotten even worse. Will have to do some research for the third game when it arrives this time, the negative reviews weren't kidding but I clicked add to cart after enjoying the first game so much.

第五章里[spoiler] 居然还有名字和造型跟我们俩都一模一样的两个拳击手，当时真的把他当成了一个装傻的憨憨杜利了[spoiler] ；
第六章最终章剧情真的很棒，[spoiler] 回到高中非常有趣，打开储物柜时还发现了杜利当年写给我的表白信，顿时感觉惊讶而幸福，原来从高中开始我们就已经接下了不解之缘，而且看到运动场更衣室里有一袋双丁，想想就很刺激[spoiler] 。

I've wrote a negative review after playing case 1, but I decided to play more and finished the game. This game should have mixed score on steam. It's 5-6/10 point and click adventure. First of all, my original review:

I've got the first game for free and really like it. It was little fun "escape room" type game. You have several screens with items. You need to find them and use somehow funny. Sometimes you need to bruteforce combinations to move forward, but it's still fun and doesn't take a lot of time. I bought second game to continue this fun, but... Somewhy developers made a lot of screens with a lot of active points. Some jokes are fun, but the gameplay is much-much worse now. If you stuck, you cannot bruteforce at all. It's just not possible. There are SO MANY active points that it's HARD to remember them all and all their "clues" you can use.
Better get the first game and enjoy it. This one is just bigger in a bad way :(

好喜欢像素风解谜，作者脑洞也很荒诞又好玩，急急急什么时候出第三部
相较于前座更长的案件、更大的场景、更难的解谜......有点难过头了，我说。因为无厘头的解谜思路和大场景的化学反应导致卡关问题比前作严重。有些谜题提示手快了按过去了就没法看第二次。
但是剧情更丰富，对角色的塑造也更好，很多地方有前作角色的身影，能感觉到大纲是早就写好的。
如果说前作中麦奎因和杜力还是友情以上的话，这一作里已经是老夫老妻了。很难不觉得他俩是真的。

Some puzzles got a little too out there. I didn't need a guide at all for the first one but I had to keep one handy here. Part of it was bizarre logic but a lot of it was that each level in this one was so big that it became too time consuming to try everything on everything until something worked. The first level alone had multiple areas to travel with long strings of screen that required clicking to move left left left left left, do one thing, then back right right right right to get to your car and repeat on a different map. Compound that with not knowing what to do and you end up wasting a lot of time just moving around. This could have been remedied with some sort of fast travel quick map OR making the each puzzles' items and solutions more isolated within an area.
I grew up on Sierra point and click games so I am no stranger to this style but I have less brains now and would appreciate a little more QoL in my modern adventure games.
Overall not enough to totally sully the experience and I will be getting the next Darkside Detective day one.
I bought this game with no knowledge of the series due to it's positive reviews, sale price and fun trailer. I usually like games like this but I had to reference a walkthrough for the first two cases. I very seldom use a guide but I wasn't hooked by the story and the 'forget logic and try everything' method is not for me. I think I will struggle to get through the rest of the game. Generally speaking, it is visually lovely but I haven't enjoyed the gameplay so far. I'm clearly in the minority so maybe I will play more cases at some stage.
If you like the first one, this is basically more of the same, which is not a bad thing!

没怎么看攻略，不过不得不说难度不小（锈湖玩家勉强跟上）现在的时长是我打完两关的游戏时长，二代在内容丰富度上进步很大，而且侦探和警察会在一个大案子的一些小事件上有谈话（不要点太快错过了）
目前玩下来有几个小提示
1，二代地图大场景多，需要认真记住浏览过的物品的小细节，比如有螺丝——着重找类螺丝刀工具，涂装——回忆色彩类工具，达到做旧等效果时回想颜色，麦奎因和杜利的形象在这一代细节不少（每个场景点击杜利都有额外文本）杜利在这一带更加聪明腹黑。
2，但要注意的是，场景大导致找不到/回想不起已经发现的物品时，游玩体验会很烦躁，建议直接看攻略。而且成就是高度分散的（找齐所有关卡中的xxx），需要的话建议在每一个案件的最后一步去排查一下
3，互动的内容更多，总之这是一款细节上有趣逻辑上蚌埠住了的作品

如果让我本人坦白的话，给出这个评价可能是有一部分情怀的原因在里面吧。我很喜欢制作组的异想天开，每次总能令人会心一笑。
当然，这部作品的缺点也是很明显的。案子基本上都只能说是一笑了之，没什么逻辑性。很多道具和道具之间的联系，道具的使用方法都让人感觉莫名其妙，卡关的时候确实很坐牢。人物的刻画略显单薄，希望以后能深入介绍两位主角以及主要配角的背景故事。这点其实尤其让我觉得可惜，因为我很喜欢这部作品里的人物。希望在第三部能够逐步地丰满。
不过话又说回来，玩这个游戏不就是图一乐吗？如果你在寻找一部轻松愉快打发时间的像素点击解密小游戏，那这就是你要找的。玩得愉快！

fun game, definitely worth it on sale. however, i do want to mention that there were a good amount of the puzzles in here that feel nonsensical rather than difficult. i prefer it to make sense rather than it be artificially difficult. that being said, i still enjoyed my time with the game and i'm looking forward to the next one.

I absolutely LOVE the Darkside Detective games. They are just so much fun! Great characters, witty dialogue, fun puzzles that are generally not too difficult and general sillyness. Episodic nature of the stories makes it a really good game to play in shorter sittings. Nothing negative to say at all. Wonderful - please make more!

Cute and zany - great funny point and click adventure that (usually) gives you little nudges to help with Moon Logic puzzles, fun characters, insane setting.

A solid point-and-click adventure with several short stories and some micro-sized bonus stories with cases to solve and self-aware jokes to make. This game series has a good sense of humor and isn't afraid of a little light fourth-wall breaking.
Not exactly Lovecraftian but definitely horror themed. You might even call it "cozy horror" if there is such a thing. The pixel graphics render the monsters as rather cute even when they might otherwise be terrifying to meet in a more visceral game.
Like any good point-and-click, there is plenty of rubbing random objects together and shoving random objects at people's faces. Not all of the solutions are readily apparent (though some are if you've looked around enough) and using the tried and true method of pointing, clicking, and shoving things together you can solve most of the mysteries in 30 minutes or less. It really is not a long game but at the price I think it's more than fair.
I have recently heard (as of Q1 2026) that another sequel is approaching so it seemed like a good time to complete my case load.

整体还挺好玩的，这一作场景好丰富，对话也有一些意思。一开始没思路时的确容易卡关，多点点说不定就有思路了。
中文翻译腔比较重（对比看了33远征队，33的中文翻译感觉会更符合中文表达习惯），有些冷笑话可能不太容易翻译，看得有些懵，不过不太影响剧情推进，多多留意对话提示还能接受。翻译质量要是能再易读一些就更好了，毕竟是剧情向解谜游戏。
背景音乐听个响，如果是 8bit 那种风格估计会更恐怖些吧。
Incredibly goofy point and click puzzle game, while you need to play the first one to get some of the jokes they are both absolutely worth it. The puzzles can be a bit frustrating at times, but overall the creativity, humor, and general shenanigans definitely make up for it.

Bueno, el juego es recomendable, divertido y muy friki en el buen sentido, pero me sigue gustando más su primera parte, aquí pecan de hacer cada caso excesivamente largo y eso se nota en sus puzzles que llegan a rozar el absurdo en ocasiones; ya no por surrealistas (que también) sino por que a veces es imposible resolverlos a no ser que hayas tenido una conversación o mirado X objeto aunque tú sepas exactamente lo que hay que hacer. Pero en términos generales merece la pena y pasas un rato divertido.

丑话先说在前头，这第二季季的解密道具对比第一季太无厘头和没思路了，应该单击物品时侦探多说点这个道具的用处。第一季的还能get到点，这第二季第一关我就打了3个小时，还看了攻略。幽默的点还是有的。希望第三季能多一点提示，不然鬼想得到要怎么合成和用处

Long time since I played point and click adventure games. Got the first game free from epic and after finishing it I Immediatly bought this one! Fantastic game

内容比第一部更多了，剧情日常轻松幽默，好玩
爽爽爽，这游戏是真好玩，第二部比第一部难度大很多，第一部直接两个小时速通9个案子，第二部四个小时才过两个累了
挺好玩的难度比第一部大一点，有些解密逻辑关联有点弱完全想不到啊，有两章完全过不起了只能找攻略了，总的来说还是很好玩的，翻译很有梗，希望还能有3吧
