Auch wenn es der Story und den Charakterinteraktionen stellenweise an emotionaler Tiefe fehlt und die Vertonung nicht immer vollständig ist, bietet das Spiel dennoch viele Stunden Spielzeit und hat eine unglaublich warme, märchenhafte Atmosphäre. Wer narrative Spiele liebt, sich gerne in eine detailreiche Welt verliert und dabei auch Spaß an Aufbaumechaniken hat, sollte sich Ni no Kuni 2 definitiv näher anschauen.

Единственное что мне понравилось в этой игре так это рисовка она топчик. Сюжет игры отвал башки просто, президент Роланд Крейн из настоящего мира магическим образом оказывается в сказочном мире в покоях little boy Эвана после атаки на его страну, звучит интересно, но сюжет дeрbмо унылое и очень короткое.
Эта игра чистый гринд, а задания " принеси подай пошёл nаhuй не мешай" или "убей по-братски это чудовище" отдельное искусство.
Я пыталась пройти этот "шедевр", но не осилила.
Если у вас есть свободное время то идите лучше книгу почитайте, ну это на hуi.

Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is one of those games I always find myself coming back to. I’ve replayed it around 10 times, and it never gets old.

The world is beautiful, the characters are memorable, and the story has that classic charm that makes the whole journey enjoyable from beginning to end. It’s one of those games that just feels good to play, whether you're exploring, building your kingdom, or progressing through the story.

Overall, it’s simply a great game. Every time I replay it, I’m reminded why I loved it the first time. If you enjoy a colorful world, a fun adventure, and a heartfelt story, this is definitely a game worth playing.

Игра -- иллюстрация если бы геншин не был F2P. Гринд-гринд-гринд-гринд. 80% вы будете гриндить в этой игре. Основная сюжетка очень короткая, сайды почти все "подай принеси". Данжи скучнейшие: ты так медленно ходишь что ты их именно что "проходишь" больше чем рамсишься.
Комбат куцый, тут есть элементы, какие-то даже типы монстров, и ты типа даже можешь как-то балансировать между ними чтобы бить кого-то больнее, другого слабее, но (может быть я слепой) нигде не сказано против кого какой элемент. И какого типа тот или иной монстр. У тебя из-за спецэффектов во время драки экран почти всё время забит и ты хочешь не хочешь случайно словишь плюху, что не так хорошо кончается обычно. Не знаю как на высоких сложностях, это играбельно ли вообще.
Крафт бесполезен абсолютно. Шмот с монстров проще нагриндить чем чето крафтить. Тем более материалы радномно раскидываются, у тебя нет как в геншине "вот эта трава вот тут". Нет, ты будешь ходить собирать "огоньки" и тебе случайным образом что-то да выпадет.
В общем, задумка прикольная, графика классная, остальное так себе.

This is my 2nd playthrough of the game after having finished it on the Switch. Definitely not my favorite JRPG, but it's cozy and I enjoy the side quests to recruit citizens for the kingdom. This is a good JRPG, maybe even great. The combat could be more fun (prepare to be staggered over and over by the enemies) but I still enjoy all aspects of the game. Solid 7/10.

I was going to write a comically short review, reference the length of my review for Ni No Kuni I, and just be like, "game good, do recommend lol." But the more I thought about it, the more I drafted an actual review in my head and might as well not let the thought go to waste. I think it's appropriate having logged 240 hours in one playthrough and nearly 90% of all achievements unlocked.

There is a world of difference between NNK1 and NNK2. I feel the writing of the story and characters took a dip between 1 and 2, although both at least have awesome music. Characters do not seem as intrinsically tied to the magic and world-building in 2 as they did in 1. A lot of context to NNK2 seems to assume you played NNK1, so--although you could pick this up without ever having played the first game as very little ties the two together--you may feel a little blindsided by certain plot points. This may be less noticeable if you have the paid DLC from the start of the game, but that was not the case for me, and I have yet to playthrough now that I have it myself, so I cannot confirm yet. Anyway...

The world-building shifts from the magic and counterparts in NNK1 to cultures and organizing an international political structure in NNK2. Not exactly an issue for me (poli-sci grad here), but I don't blame anyone criticizing the story for feeling less magical than NNK1 and focusing instead on Fantasy World United Nations. The most generous way to view NNK2's plot is as a Ghibli-style children's storybook about getting along with others and solving intense problems with friendship instead of war and political assassination. Otherwise, the idealism in this aspect of the story may make a cynic roll their eyes.

But overall, it was actually fun exploring the world to find Tainted monsters and other side quests. The story isn't breaking this game for me because, like NNK1, this is first and foremost a videogame. The story is enough. It won't outclass many other beloved RPG stories (don't go in expecting something near par of FFVI or Expedition 33, etc.), but it's okay. Characters were kind of bland at times. There was some character development, but I found most of the more compelling character moments were in the paid DLC. The main cast was interesting enough to follow but not interesting enough to leave a meaningful impression on me. Some of the major NPC's were amusing to interact with, though. The main villain's story also brought a few tears to my eyes.

Battle system definitely improved since NNK1, especially with the AI for NPC's (although not perfect but nonetheless vastly better). About 95% of my review of NNK1 was criticizing the clunky, awkward, and confusing battle system. Here, NNK2 fully embraced the "action" in "action RPG." It is a remarkable improvement from a gameplay standpoint. Neither NNK1 nor NNK2 are visual novels (although 1 really should've been), so battle mechanics are important considerations here. When the enemy interrupts your spell and you both lose the MP and don't cast the spell? When it does happen, it is a legitimate skill issue (like I didn't block or move out of the way instead of charging right at the enemy). Instead of this feeling like a random and totally unfair thing, it's a proportionate consequence to my skill issue or inattention. Most of all, NO MORE ENDLESS MENUES TO SCROLL THROUGH.

There is DLC that comes with the base game for free, but there's also paid DLC referred to as the season pass; this includes both "The Tale of a Timeless Tome" and "The Lair of the Lost Lord." If you were me and bought the DLC after completing the base game, then you may actually find the paid DLC refreshing. It adds more battle mechanics that require a little more skill and is therefore more rewarding. I saw many reviews on each DLC that it's monotonous because it's basically just more of the Dreamers Door levels; however, I disagree. The levels are monotonous on the surface, but learning these new battle mechanics made it more engaging. Also, the armor you can get in the Labyrinth is definitely needed if you want to complete the Soloseum Slog. However, if you want only the two hours of extra story and lore, then slip the season pass and just watch some LP's on YouTube and keep the $20 USD+tax.

With that said, there are a few odd choices. First, it's a bit of a bummer that a lot of scenes weren't fully voice-acted. Just seemed like a weird choice when compared to NNK1, but I suppose the bulk of the budget went to improving the battle system and not paying the voice actors for more of their time. If you were going with less voice acting, at least make the font larger or give us a setting to make the font easier to read.

Major thing: there were a few glitches that aren't just about achievements not being earned. [1] If you are going through the Faraway Forest Dreamer Maze or the DLC Labyrinth, there is a chance that you may spawn into a level that has absolutely no exit which will force you to reset your game. [2] Unsure if this can happen to other bosses anywhere else, but the dragon boss on the final level of the Faraway Forest Dreamer Maze did the summon-another-enemy thing, flew away, then came back to the battle without a hitbox. No matter which character I swapped to, neither I nor the other two NPC's could hit it which forced me to reset. Couldn't even target it, so... unfortunate reset...

SKIRMISHES.... this minigame was the bane of my existence. Felt really odd and ultimately frustrating trying to get certain skirmishes to spawn on the map to complete all skirmishes. Don't mind the hours I've logged in this game at the time of this review. The main game can be completed in significantly less time (perhaps around 60-80 hours). Mine is just high because there is a kingdom-building component to this game that is essentially away-from-keyboard as long as the game is running; it wracks up quite a bit of money and goods from stores. Since I work from home, I sometimes just popped on the game so that I can collect money and items in between my work tasks. I wouldn't recommend doing this if you want to play the game as clearly intended, though. I only did this to get more money to up my abilities in skirmishes because I hate skirmishes and wanted the plot-mandatory ones to go as quickly as possible.

I think my only other complaint is the world's most frustrating optional side quest in the history of all frustrating optional side quests: the stinky shoes. It's very likely that you do find the stinky shoes naturally within the first few hours of the game, but the stats are so low that you might've sold them for better gear or to just prune your inventory to find your good equipment easier. So from the last time you get the stinky shoes more organically to the time a certain quest for stinky becomes available, you're out of luck if you don't want to grind for it because (apparently and according to most of the internet) the drops are proportional to your level. I was about 234 hours into the game when I was finally able to complete that quest, and that quest (with a recommended level of like 45) was my final quest with all my characters at the max level of 150.

Also, I do prefer the Higgledies over NNK1's familiars. But I will say that not having a dinosaur wrecking peoples' entire days with one punch was surprisingly empty. (I miss you, Tim the Catastroceros. I hope you're doing well somewhere in my headcanon of this sequel.)

Overall, it's the inverse of NNK1: great gameplay with meh to okay story. I would still recommend for completionists because there is certainly much to do besides the main story! Unlike NNK1, NNK2's extra stuff didn't seem like a grind-fest even though it was. After a break from this one, I may come back to is one day to see how the DLC plays out when it is integrated from the start of the game. For now, I'm satisfied with this game enough to recommend it so long as you keep your expectations of story tempered.

🚨 Ne vous fiez pas à mon nombre d'heures sur Steam, je l'ai fait sur Switch et je viens de l'acheter sur PC, idem pour le 1er opus, je voulais les faire à nouveau sur PC (si j'ai le temps).
Ce jeu est tout simplement LE meilleur jeu et fait partie de LA meilleure série de jeux de tous les temps. J'ai fini les 2 Ni No Kuni sur Switch, je suis en train de les refaire sur PC, mais QUEL régal. Le gameplay est extrêmement jouissif, le système de niveaux mais surtout la grosse nouveauté de cet opus : la gestion du royaume. Contrairement à ce qu'on pense, c'est assez difficile de faire un système cohérent à l'histoire qui n'est pas "chiant" à jouer, donc les devs ont fait un boulot de fou sur ça. L'histoire, je n'ai rien à dire, légèrement moins bien que le 1er opus mais le gameplay est beaucoup mieux que le 1, mois innovant sur le 1 mais plus abordable.
Ce jeu ainsi que le 1er opus sont des jeux à faire ABSOLUMENT dans une vie.

It is a good game though not a fan of how the final battle went.
I am also not a fan of how only randomly is it voiced. At what seems like random parts of the game it will be voiced but not all of that part either.

Now how is the rest of the game? I played it with my mom and she enjoyed the story for me the story was kind of generic if you watch anime as all the bad guys were able to be told even from the beginning of the "chapter".

The gameplay was fun though as it is split up into the main battle party and a army battle thing I think I should seperate them too. The main battle party which is in what seems to be all the trialers is fun the part that is battling with your kingdom's army not so much.

Приятная сказка в виде jrpg, графика и музыкальное сопровождение прекрасны.
Сюжет цепляет с первых минут игры.
В игру добавили все что можно было напихать, моментами душно, но даже так я не заметил провел в игре более 100ч. Основной сюжет проходится достаточно быстро и не душит, но вот DLC/второстепенные задания просто вытягивают игровое время, кто играл - тот поймёт.
В целом игру советую, на 2-3 вечера приятной ламповой атмосферы я вам гарантирую.

So I must admit that I find the story on the rather weak side of things, but this game's qualities lie else anyways.

Granted, that weird warfare minigame is flawed as heck and is definitely a hassle, but that cozy kingdom building is why I am here and it works great, even tho it's somewhat limited.

Other than that, you can expect a decent JRPG with a good battle system, albeit some missing QoL features like sprinting.

I'd recommend this to fans of the Dragon Quest series as visually, it comes pretty close. You may also enjoy this as a fan of the Tales series. Or Ys.

어느하나 대충만든 구석이 없는 꽉담긴 고봉밥세트
문제는 쓸데없이 양이 너무많은 구간이 있는점 정도

니노쿠니1편 감동적이었던 스토리에 빠져서 2편도 기대했으나,
트럼프가 핵맞고 이세계환생해서 네코미미 꼬맹이랑 세계정복하려는거보고 돌앗나? 했지만
나름 또 정석적인 왕도물을 잘 풀어내서 지루하거나 현학적이진 않아,
개인적으로는 좋았음

-장점-

게임 자체가 전반적으로 하나하나 세심하게 만들어져서, 그래픽이 구린데도 게임성이 뛰어난게 그냥 플레이하면서 자연스럽게 느껴짐. 컨텐츠들이 짧거나 대충때웠다는 느낌이 안듬. 게임에 애정을 쏟고싶은사람에겐 굉장히 장점으로 다가옴.
니노쿠니 1편을 했던사람들은 추억돋을 수 있는 장치도 많이 들어가있음.

-단점-

플스특성상 패키지 하나로 우려먹어야하는 방식은 이해하지만 PC버전은 변경해서 나왔어야지
연구하나에 한시간, 골드는 무한정 기다리면서 수급하는 억지 플탐늘리기..
결국 억까부분만 치트쓸수밖에 없었다. 안썼으면 플탐 100시간 이상 가능할뻔

História bem fraca e previsivel, o primeiro é melhor.

O sistema de combate do primeiro é uma mistura de pokemon com uma mescla de jrpg de turno e action, no qual acho muito mais interessante que o segundo, que há pouca variedade entre os personagens, inclusive os mesmo compartilham o mesmo equipamentos!

Todo sistema de progressão praticamente está sobre o gerenciamento do reino, ele te obriga em alguns momentos da história a fazer algo que você não quer, pois a ideia central do jogo é você criar um reino, você é obrigado a fazer missões secundárias e recrutar membros para avançar no jogo, isso achei ruim e massante!

Trilha sonora tirando o tema central que é do primeiro jogo, nenhuma é marcante.

Pontos positivos:
Gráficos continuaram a pegada do ghibli
Tem bastante conteúdo, construir seu reino, batalhas de exército, side quests.

After sinking hours into Ni no Kuni II, I can say it's one of those games that's genuinely hard to pin down — it's charming and cozy in a way that almost nothing else is, like a playable Studio Ghibli film where you help a catboy king build a kingdom and unite the world through sheer optimism. The action combat is smooth and satisfying, the kingdom-building scratches a real itch, and Joe Hisaishi's soundtrack is predictably gorgeous. That said, the story starts strong and then slides into a repetitive formula — visit kingdom, expose corrupt ruler, forgive everyone, repeat — and the late game grinds to a halt with tedious fetch quests and RNG gear farming. If you played and loved the first game, temper your expectations, because the depth and heart of Wrath of the White Witch just isn't here. But if you want something genuinely nice — not gritty, not punishing, just warm — and you grab it on sale, it's absolutely worth your time.

Отличная игра в своём жанре. Одна из немногих JRPG которая прям затянула своим визуалом, сеттингом, механиками.

Отдельно понравились:

-> Боевка (Я уж боялся что опять нарвусь на типичную для жанра статичную пошаговость "Цель -> Спелл"), шустрая, динамичная, при этом простая. Даже энкаунтеры на карте мира не надоедают, а большими врагами драться одно удовольствие, они скачут, топчут все вокруг, раскидывают и.т.д

-> Классический, даже банальный (в хорошем смысле), фентези-сеттинг про добрые и злые королевства, создание королевств, драконы, и прочее.

-> Большой открытый мир и сама 3д карта мира мире в виде "Чиби" вариации игрового окружения. Приятно бегать

-> Разнообразие механик. У нас классическая JRPG разбавляется строительством своего королества и даже сражениями армия на армию.

-> Ну и визуал вдохновленный Ghibli конечно же

Procedurally generated dungeons are an awful fit here. It works in something like Isaac where every run changes your build. Here it’s the same playstyle, same combat, just different hallways.

One of the few games I could not get through. Loved the first one years ago, and liked it on the replay.

This game however, is pretty tedious. There are like 5 enemy types and it gets old really really fast. Every fight is just spam until you get your big attack charged up, then release it. Oh - and all of the cool world bosses that you would want to be a challenge can be beaten by walking in a circle and using your ranged attack. They'll just keep chasing you, you keep shooting, and they'll die, no strategy needed.

There's a lot less charm to be had from the characters, the story, the overall experience. Level design is dull, nothing particularly engaging or clever about world design.

There's a second little mobile-game style kingdom builder in it, which interested me at first, but also (like a lot of mobile games) gets more tedious and really takes no thoughtfulness.

It is not the worst game, honestly kind of okay, but more of a chore than a fun experience. Nothing exceptional to save it.

Игра хороша, просто хороша. Лучше гнева белой королевы 100 проц (играйте в ндс версию). По скидкам берите. Всё сделано хорошо: графика, музыка, атмосфера, геймплей. Кроме сюжета, он не очень. Дохера ружей бондорчука, ненужного кала и роялей в кустах. Но всё же он приятный. И второй минус это гринд, тебе 2 раза насильно придётся прокачивать королевство. Плюс перед последним боссом тоже придётся до 80. (если идти чисто по сюжету, то придётся ковырять час. Проверено мною, уровень босса 72 у меня был 43)
В общем советую

The games is long and grindy, but surprisingly i love it. The best part, i think, is building the kingdom. Filling it with citizens; expanding, building and upgrading your kingdom is satisfying. Knowing every citizens there with different backgrounds and stories. The artstyle is always will be one of its main attraction. And its DLC, giving more extra gameplay build is great to have.

Me encanta la historia, a nivel grafico me parece excelente y se ve muy bien, la musica no es de mi total agrado pero tampoco es horrenda, no tener un toggle sprint es medio tonto la verdad pero se puede arreglar con mecanicas del mismo juego, por lejos lo mejor a nivel juego es el combate y las mecanicas, muy bien logradas y generan el factor "quiero pelear mas seguido". Lo recomiendo por encima de su anterior entrega.

Jogabilidade -

O combate é bem divertido e com diversas opções de magias para cada personagem, sendo que você pode usar três na party e alternar livremente entre eles, mas tende a ficar repetitivo quando você percebe que os inimigos sempre lutam igual e o jogo é um monte de esmaga-botão e esquiva, com magias bem fortes para terminar batalhas mais rápido.

O jogo conta com um modo de combate estratégico chamado “Skirmish”, onde você controla o Evan e mais algumas tropas que vão batalhar automaticamente de acrodo com a proximidade e posição delas no campo - é super interessante e quebra a repetição das batalhas normais.

Você pode fazer muitas outras coisas também, incluindo cozinhar Higgledies (pequenos ajudantes que temos nos combates), craftar armas, armaduras, itens consumíveis e mais, mas a melhor coisa para mim, fora os dois modos de combate, é a admnistração do reino de Evermore. Você pode (e deve) dar upgrade no reino, em suas construções e ir juntando mais e mais recursos que vai usar tanto no craft quanto nas batalhas, então é um aspecto muito massa e que recompensa muito o tempo investido.

História -

Não achei nada muito mirabolante, mas é uma história refrescante que mascara bem os temas pesados escondidos nas entrelinhas. É uma clássica “jornada do herói”, com uma ou outra reviravolta que deixa a coisa mais interessante. Sem dar spoilers, diria que o jogo tem um bom enredo, embora não seja nada de muito novo ou complexo.

Gráficos -

O jogo segue um estilo gráfico muito parecido com o primeiro, que tinha a parceria com o Studio Ghibli, então pode esperar os mesmos traços e uma beleza absurda em tudo, principalmente nas cutscenes. Amei mesmo, um dos mais bonitos que já vi e sem ser extremamente elaborado.

Trilha sonora -

Achei um dos aspectos mais fraquinhos do jogo, com poucas músicas disponíveis durante os momentos da história. Com a quantidade de dungeons e locais para se explorar, esperava uma variedade maior, mas é sempre o mesmo. Apesar disso, não quer dizer que é ruim – mesmo sendo pouco diverso, o que temos é muito legal e combina bem com o tom do game.

Fator rejogabilidade -

Sinceramente, o jogo é muito massa e recompensador conforme vai evoluindo seu reino e ficando mais forte, mas o pós-jogo é muito repetitivo e a dificuldade num geral não é alta e, se você colocar em dificuldades maiores, os bosses te dão hit kill sem muita conversinha, então isso prejudicou minha vontade de jogar de novo, mas pode ser que eu volte alguma hora.

No mais, recomendo muito a todos que gostam de um bom rpg (de ação) e jogos com gerenciamento de recursos!

É um jogo que me deixou dividido, as vezes ele parece maçante demais pela quantidade enorme de quests e na maioria delas quests bobas do tipo: pega X item em X lugar e leve até X npc, mate X inimigo e tudo com uma seta orientando no mapa. Então é bem fácil, o sistema de fast travel ajuda demais, vc pode ir para qualquer lugar de forma fácil e rápida então isso me motivou a fazer mais de 150 quests secundárias, pq apesar de fácil e repetitivo pelo menos é rápido e isso foi o que me motivou a continuar.
O jogo tem um sistema onde vc precisa gerenciar um reino, vc precisa construir edificações especificas, recrutar trabalhadores, e fazer pesquisas, pois cada edificação do seu reino tem um propósito, tem o prédio de melhoria de armas, melhoria de armaduras, melhoria de magias e etc.. e com as pesquisas feitas pelos npcs trabalhadores vc consegue desenvolver itens, magias e ganhar habilidades especiais que deixam o jogo ainda mais fácil para vc concluir seus objetivos.. então isso foi o que me prendeu nele pois eu achei esse sistema legal e acabei upando o meu reino até o nível máximo kk

i spend good chunk of my time playing this game and planning to maxed out the evermore kingdom only to find dissapointed because the 65th building is locked behind a paid dlc, there are too many areas that are irrelevant to the main story and more like a way to make the world bigger but its still feels empty and lack of the parallel character from roland's world which is not explored in this game and that is the aspect that i really love from the first game. removing that aspect and the game become generic isekai story lol

the 1st game is still way more fun in terms of story-wise than this one but this game excels at keeping me more engaged to the gameplay due to more massive the world is and so many things that u could missed out on. i just wished there are more things to do after defeating final boss rather than being like the other jrpg that stuck on one last level before final boss as "endgame" state

I wish I could give this a middling score. It's not a bad game by any means, but what its is, is complicated. Below, I'll be posting a spoiler-filled rundown of what my issues and loves for this game were.

For a Tl;dr, I'd give this game a 7/10. Fun, but not as good at the 1st game.

This sequel abandons a lot of what made the original so unique - gone is the Familiar system, as well as the heavy lean into hands-on learning. One of my big, early complaints was the loss of the Wizard's Companion; the first game's spellbook, full of creative flavor text, lore about the world, folklore, and ancient legends that reflect on current events. This added in a very fun system - making people [i]read[/i]. To finish some puzzles, you would need to scour the compendium, read the stories, learn the history for yourself, and grow alongside Oliver. It wasn't some pop-up on screen that narrated the story at you, but an account written by the holders of the book, telling their story. It was far more immersive and engaging. The gameplay is a bit more hands-on than the first game; the original had a very click-and-go style to it. Attacking, for instance, was automatic once you hit the "attack" button, giving you some degree of control over NPCs. One of my big gripes of the 1st game was how the NPCs would actively chase down recovery items, denying the player the ability to restore mana or health with anything but items. The sequel fixes this by having less of an emphasis on pick-up items, but also by leaning more into recoverable mana through attacks and equipment. The "auto-attack" aspect was removed, making the game feel more hands on, with active combos to use unique attacks.

One thing I genuinely missed were runes. It's a small thing in the original, but every spell had an accompanying rune, which had neat lore implications. For instance, the spell to summon powerful monsters is a combination of two different runes, which shows the living aspect of the world - it feels like mages genuinely experimented with magic to discover these new things. The way spellcasting felt in the original was more snappy, too. It's hard to explain, but in the first game, I [b]felt[/b] like a mage, whereas with the sequel, it feels like I'm playing a mage in an RPG. This isn't bad, but it lacks that oomph of the original.

Lastly, there are the cutscenes, and this is at no fault of the game devs. Ni No Kuni 2 lacked the touch of Studio Ghibli, at least in full. They kept the art style consistent, which was a good idea, but the loss of fully animated cutscenes could be felt. The still images or 3d cutscenes lacked the whimsy and charm Ghibli's animations brought to the original. This is at no fault of the developers; Ghibli is not a video game company and were too busy to be a part of the sequel.

[spoiler]However, my biggest issues come with the writing. My first complaint is on missed opportunities. Ni No Kuni 1 was a gem, a wonderful game with a rich, vibrant lore, fleshed out through in-game storytelling and the supplementary reading in the Wizard's Compendium. There were loads of untold stories: where would the world be generations later? Would we walk through the shoes of the Wizard King? Perhaps we'd play as the Sage of Ages? Maybe put in in Nazcaä? So many options. And yet, Ni No Kuni 2 completely throws the story of the original to the wayside. Not only is it set in an alternate dimension, they made it clear that the events of Ni No Kuni 1 happened, but happened in a way that was different to the original. The familiar characters were there to tug at your nostalgia, but the story had almost no relevance to the events of the first game. When I started in Ding Dong Dell, I was excited. I thought this surely must be a continuation, since the Tildrum line was still standing and it's freakin' Ding Dong Dell. But rapidly, it became clear this wasn't the case - from the map being wholly different to nations being entirely unfamiliar, to core lore being entirely absent, replaced with new supplements - such as Kingmakers instead of Familiars.

[spoiler]One of the key points in the 1st game's story was the cyclical nature of the world - how history repeated itself. Oliver was just one in a long line of people who lost everything they loved. But unlike the other people in the story, he embraced the pain, and didn't walk the road of vengeance instead. He broke the cycle. The nature of Oliver and Shaddar was not overt - there were clues there that one could follow, inconsistencies in the narrative that, if you looked closely enough, showed you the twist before it got close to it. The Doloran/Roland reveal was ham-handed in comparison. Not only was it retreading that same plot point - a Soulbound villain, tied to the hero, with a "if you wish to kill me, you must kill yourself" narrative. I understand the cyclical nature narrative, but come on. In the original, Oliver was confronted with this reality, then followed through, still destroying Shaddar and almost being erased himself. This was far more poignant in comparison to Roland, who simply beats his double up, then doesn't need to deal with that conflict again. It goes to show the vast gap between the two, in terms of emotional weight. I wasn't so bothered by the story sharing similar beats - a boy coming to bring all the nations of the world together, under one banner - that fit the nature of cyclical storytelling far better. But it was those key moments, where they skipped on the chance to do something different or unique, that really hit me.

Now, some good; I really enjoyed the Kingdom Building mechanics. It was oddly rewarding, and felt nice to upgrade things slowly, watching the progress as you grow from a wooden palace with only a few huts, to a thriving capital. Recruiting the key villagers was a really neat idea - having to actively go out and hire people who were knowledgeable felt right; personal.

A bit more bad. Much like Shaddar and Oliver, the reveal of Pea and her role in the story was something you could figure out early on, without being spoon-fed the truth. However, Ferdinand was absolutely uninteresting. His name only comes up a few times: once from Boddy, then from Evan in a speech, and maybe one more time. But ultimately, he wasn't a major or interesting character. But surprise: he is a pseudo-time traveler who created a Bootstrap Paradox, and he is actually Evan's son. Boddy is a seer, somehow. Time Magic in Ni No Kuni 1 was extremely fickle and dangerous; you could only leap through time once. Now, a character is randomly born who can just [i]send their mind through time from birth, because reasons.[/i] It all lacked the punch of Pea being the "inner child" of the game's Big Bad.

Now, some more good. I did love [i]most[/i] of the game's writing. Was it cheesy and cliche? Sure, but no more than the original. One must remember, this is a game geared for younger audiences. With that in mind, there is a clear throughline in the narrative that remains strong. But I do think some things could have been better touched upon. In fact...

How the flippin' heck did Roland end up in another Dimension? In Ni No Kuni 1, Oliver needs to open the gate himself - nobody is just [i]brought across dimensions[/i] with no rhyme or reason. And yet, here's Roland, being scooped across dimensions, just because. And did they seriously open the game up with New York City being nuked? Excuse me? Could you, like... explain that a bit? Why the heck was NYC getting bombed? It's massive tonal whiplash, and not in a good way.[/spoiler]

I enjoyed Ni No Kuni 2. I played through the whole game - writing this while the credits are paused on the other screen - and am now about to start tackling post-game content. But if someone asked me whether the first or second was best, I would very clearly tell them: "Play the first. It's the far superior game."

Continuing with the magic that NNK1 brought, this game just absolutely oozes Ghibli vibes and this game has one of my favorite OSTs of all time. I have spent many a work or gaming session with themes like Hydropolis just playing in the background on a loop

I think the overworld army battles system fits extremely well with the overall game theme, and they dont force you to do any actual difficulty of it as part of story while also providing a lot of endgame scenarios that do require some critical thinking.

Combat/gameplay is a full departure from NNK1, there is no pokemon catch-em-all type system anymore and its more about building out equipment for your characters while manually inputting melee/ranged combos. Still pretty fun, it feels a lot like a beat-em-up

Overall I rate this around an 8/10. The story wasn't my absolute favorite but the world and everything in it is a joy to experience. Highly recommend

I played this game right after I have finished Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch (which was btw an 10/10 game) and I want to review this game form the point of a japanese learner.

First, overall to the game:
The introduction was really good and I really like the new combat style.
This game has a huge open world with a lot (160!) side quests which were sometimes exhausting, but I liked them.
There were also some easter eggs from the first sequel that really felt that this game plays in the same world like the first one. However, there were also some parts, where I thought: "Well, is that really the world of Ni no Kuni?" I get it, that it plays in the future, but still...what happened to the Imaajen from the first part?
They played there a huge part and in this game, they weren't even mentioned once (or I just didn't find it?!).
Also the whole city building and military operations were kinda exhausting.
The story was nice, but not that great.

Now from a japanese learner's view:
Unfortunately, this game has no furigana and I also found the vocabulary sometimes very challenging. However, it was still quite easy to follow the main story for me (after two years of learning japanese). You can decide for yourself, whether you want to do a side quest to read some dialog, or level up your characters and gather rare monster drops.
There is, like in the first part, only some part of the main story fully voiced.
However, with GameSentenceMiner and Yomitan, this game was great.

So, would I recommened this game for japanese learners? Yes, but not as their first game.
It is a nice addition to the world of Ni no Kuni and I liked the overall playstyle and the open world aspect. And I absolutely love the graphics and the music, which also had some remakes from the first sequel! I had much fun playing it!

В сравнении с многочисленными и почти одинаковыми сериями JRPG, которые между собой стилистически не различаются (дженерик-фэнтези, японская версия), в Ni No Kuni 2 прекрасный и запоминающийся визуал, имитирующий мультфильмы Ghibli. Персонажи — тоже как будто из работ Миядзаки. В остальном игра более-менее средняя, на фоне JRPG, а местные дополнительные бои а-ля Total War, именуемые skirmish, явно лишние (не прокачаешь армии в этом режиме боёв — не пройдёшь последнюю главу).

Ну а то, что почти все имена и географические названия НЕ ИМЕЮТ НИЧЕГО ОБЩЕГО в английской и японской версиях игры — разрывает сознание. Русский текстовый перевод сделан с японского оригинала, и играть с английской озвучкой и русскими титрами — это ломать себе мозг.

No es el mejor jrpg pero es "entrañable". Lo voy a recomendar si buscas un jrpg fácil y con un arte increíble. El juego tiene una historia muy básica y una jugabilidad en combates que se vuelve fácilmente asequible en cuanto empiezas a hacer secundarias (que las hay de todos los tipos y colores). Me ha gustado y resultado sorprendentemente agradable la gestión de la ciudad y las misiones de combate en el mundo. El diseño de los personajes y ciudades destaca pero en su contra diré que los primeros son bastante planos de personalidad.

No puedo recomendar este juego en su estado actual, no me ha dejado ni arrancarlo pues se pone pantalla en negro y no me deja hacer nada, al final he decidido quitar el hdr del monitor pues he visto algo por internet de alguien que tambien le pasaba y asi ha arrancado pero si pongo el hdr desde dentro del juego el juego se reinicia directamente tras activarlo y si lo pongo desde windows el juego se queda en pantalla en negro, no puedo recomendar un juego que no te deja arrancar si no es desactivando algo desde fuera

8年前的游戏居然还能有这么多BUG，合着从来没修过是吧。。。你子供向游戏剧情我也不多评价了，但是你这个王国军队作战升级太慢了，做个支线动不动就是三四十级以上的部队，过都过不了，王国发育也很慢，非要搞得跟部落冲突似的，关键你这下线也没有收益还得在线上挂机才可以，最后你这游戏八年了连个中文都没有也是难评，汉化包也不好找，嫌麻烦的不建议入手这款游戏。

억까 안 하고 진지하게 평가하면

조작감이 굉장히 안 좋은데 / 그래픽, 게임 퀄리티가 생각보다 직접 해보니까 상당히 별로
그리고 이동할 때 달리기 버튼이 없어서 구르기로 맵 이동하는 게 더 빠름
난이도는 쉬운 편

게임 전체적인 플레이는 젤다 느낌이고 그림체는 지브리로 섞어놔서 뭔가 이질감이 듦
일단, 맨 처음 캐릭터 움직여보고 아 이거 똥겜이다 느낌 딱 온다 2010년대 게임하는 느낌

There are things to like in NNK2, but there are some things to hate as well. You will feel like you are playing a mobile games at times, and others, you feel like this could have been a visual novel.

Gameplay: This feels like what NNK1 wanted to be, but they went for creatures/turn system instead. The combat is nice, though floaty, but it feels nice enough that it can carry the game throughout.
The gear/drops are a mixed bag and it runs into the same problem as NNK1 where the power spikes are harsh and abrupt. There are some great synergies for builds + gear, but they don't really come into their own until the endgame.

Story: There is some magic lost from the first game, but it is still very much a fairy tale. It isn't as cute, but the more mature themes are handled well.

Sound: very mediocre. It is just okay. The VO is good enough, but there aren't enough spoken dialogue lines to make the experience feel more than what it is.

Overall, it is a nice game and does something different from its predecessor. There will be those who wanted more of NNK1 and they will be disappointed. For JRPG fans, this is a nice game that unfortunately isn't as special as the first. However, there are enough mechanics to make the playthrough fun, albeit formulaic and generic.

Очень красивая и добрая jrpg, но как же халтурно и скучно сделано повествование, что это невозможно вытерпеть. Вроде сюжет начинается бодро и динамично с попаданием главного героя, через которого будет идти наше повествование и узнавание этого мира, но потом всё сводится к бесконечной ходьбе и скучным сражениям с одними и теми же противниками по 100 раз. А также минимум озвученных диалогов и минимум кат-сцен, что ощущается как плевок в лицо и максимальная халтура. В 4-ой главе так вообще гоняют туда-сюда и заставляют прокачивать королевство, или вы не пройдёте дальше, что опять же ♥♥♥♥♥♥ как сильно бьёт и без того по слабому повествованию и приводит к потере интереса к сюжету.

Warning - game wont launch unless you edit the exe file and alter your screen HDR settings and then you can only play in windowed mode. After finally getting the game started in windowed mode and then trying to change to fullscreen and turn HDR back on from the ingame options, the game crashed again, and I was unable to get it started anymore. Never got to play the game. Refund here.

Played through it as Ni No Kuni 1 is my favourite game. NNK2 is an okay sequel but nothing special that makes it worth the cost, not to mention that this game lacks a lot of charm that NNK1 had, likely because Studio Ghibli were not involved in NNK2.

One massive gripe I have is just the overuse of assets. For example, there is one cave map that is used for every single cave you enter and visually, it is dull. You hear the same 3 songs as you go through the game and the same 3 voice acting lines for each character.

The story is centred in one world unlike NNK1 which had you travelling between two worlds and NNK2 does not prioritise linear progression nor exploration as much as the first game did and in fact, the grindy JRPG elements are much more noticeable in this game.

But the main reason why I cannot recommend this game in good conscience is the story. The story is mid! It's uninspired and lacking the heart needed to make a compelling tale. I think this game poured all their focus in the action and minigames (such as skirmishes and the kingdom management sim) and I will admit the combat is miles better than NNK1 but unfortunately this improvement came at the cost of the story, characters, music and atmosphere.

Also, Lofty can not hold a candle to Drippy.

An extremely enjoyable experience for about 80% of the game. Art style, world building, cast of characters and combat are all really well done and the game feels really well paced. Until the last 20% of the game.
They introduce some concepts of kingdom building and some military battles and then let you forget about it, never bringing it back up until they soft lock you out of the ending by needing to level up heavily your kingdom and a pretty forgettable boss battle in the prementioned military battle system.
The game is at its best when you follow the main story and gameplay that comes along with that journey.
