Przygodówka wskaż-i-kliknij. Lata 20, Norwegia, młoda mleczarka Ruth mieszka samotnie na fiordzie, opiekując się odziedziczoną po rodzicach chałupką i czterema krowami. Do standardowych problemów dnia codziennego dochodzą dziwne światła w nocy i jeszcze dziwniejsza tafla soli, co się zmaterializowała niedaleko pastwiska.

Co jest HOT:
+ oryginalna historyjka w klimatach retro opowiadań SF z nutą melancholii;
+ urocza pikselowa grafika, bardzo przyjemne górskie widoczki;
+ ta gra może nie jest śmieszna, ale świadomie hehehe serowa.

A co NO WIESZ, TO ZALEŻY:
~ wszystkie dialogi są rymowane, czasem tak-se. Uważam, że to urocze i pasujące do klimatu, ale rozumiem, że sporo osób to męczy;
~ zagadki są jednocześnie łatwe i trudne. Łatwe, bo dzięki małej ilości obiektów szybko się wpada na rozwiązanie nawet metodą "dajmy tu przedmiot i zobaczmy, co się stanie". Trudne, bo mamy tu najlepszy przykład księżycowej logiki z retro przygodówek - [spoilery do rozwiązań zagadek] [spoiler] gwóźdź utknął w pniaku? Nie, nie można go poluzować przez uderzanie kamieniem, lepiej się do tego nada drewniana łycha; drewno do paleniska zamokło? Postaw polana obok grobu matki na pagórku gdzie mocno wieje, wyschnie w try miga; potrzebujesz oliwiarki? Na półeczce w maszynie połóż żabę, ukłuj ją igłą żeby pisnęła i mechanik pomyślał, że trzeba naoliwić skrzypiącą maszynę... [/spoiler]

Ale naprawdę mniejsza o zagadki, bo "Milkmaid of the Milky Way" wygrywa klimatem. To jest gierkowy odpowiednik przypadkowego znalezienia starej antologii s-f przy przeszukiwaniu biblioteczki w rodzinnym domu, gdzie trafiasz na mało znane opowiadanie niszowego autora - oryginalne, trochę nieporadne, dziwne, w jakiś stopniu melancholijne i cudownie retro. Cieszę się z ogrania tego tytuł, specyficzna perełka.

[h3]Refreshing, Retro, Rhyme[/h3]
For those who are not fans of Retro, this game has a lot to offer, a deep engaging plot, a spaceship and fun easy puzzles, and even a final boss battle. All turn-based of course. Dialog is delivered in nice single sentences, and slows you up, because most of it is delivered in rhyme, and with intent. Clues are hidden in the rhymes and dialog that mean you have to take them in, to solve each puzzle efficiently. The game is very efficient, none of the [i]take this item, carry it there, use it there and then come back to here, then go hither[/i] . It's set on a steep mountain slope and for a moment you think you will not meet any other characters at all. A storm has just passed through and so the first few tasks is to repair things before you explore the beautiful surroundings. Oh and make some milk, which triggers the appearance of the first human. At that point you get to really meet your own character's well... her character proper.

[h3]Self Rescuing Princess[/h3]
Ruth is very much self reliant, and I just love me female hero and female antagonist games. Girl versus girl stories really makes you think about your role in society as a male, because girls can and do do all of the things. Ruth is interested in this bloke, and he is kind-of bashful, so this is the part of the game where you can decide what kind of girl she is for yourself. Anyway, there is a spaceship in this story and so once Ruth has looked after her cows and made some butter and had an encounter with a possible love interest, her cows get abducted. You expected that, I hope I'm not spoiling the plot, but Ruth is a hero and I have to celebrate her victory over the cow thieves. At this point the plot twists, turns on itself, and then concludes in exactly the way the title of the game hints at. So although there is a lot of sadness in the game, it has a very happy ending. Even a party, but sadly no beer due to a corrosion incident. Reminded me of so many retro games in my youth it did.

Bought this game because it was the only thing that costed exactly $2.29 NZD (on special): the exact amount of money left on a gift card I was using to buy a few other things on Steam. And, after scrolling through thousands of hentai titles in the lowest-price section, I was pleasantly surprised to find "Milkmaid of the Milky Way" was both a) not a sex game, contrary to what the name could imply and b) an award-winning indie point-and-click! How could I resist?!

Although quite short (an hour or so), the pixel graphics (against hand-painted backdrops), atmospherically sweet soundtrack and refreshingly simple UI more than explain why this game won an award. I enjoyed my playthrough. I played a lot of point-and-clicks during the 90s and I found this a good salute to those without all the confounding or illogical puzzles. There are a lot of clues hidden in the rhyming couplets which compose literally *all* dialogue in the game - absolute kudos to the creator for this, alone - and the story was compelling enough to keep you trying a few things if at first you didn't succeed.

Recommend this if you want something short and sweet.

A short game that presented to me astonishing pixelart landscapes and awesome soundtrack. This peppered with most of the text in rhymes that was quite a pleasant thing to read.
The game itself I'd recommend to nostalgic of point and click but with no great expectations about the puzzles, several times you will end up trying a bit of everything on everything as it is not very clear what objects would do and where. However I found most of the solutions appropriate, it was just me being lazy.

It is a fun and short point-and-click adventure game. Most of the puzzles are not overly complicated, which is good if you're looking for a casual game, and the artwork is lovely. The story is interesting at the beginning, although it ends a bit abruptly; maybe it would have been nice to have multiple endings and explore other options.

All in all, I enjoyed it and wasn't bored at any point, so yeah, I would recommend it.

Excellent point and click adventure! Lykke is best cow and I moo-urned right alongside our protagonist, Ruth. One day a spaceship abducts her cows and she figures out how to also get on board. From there she meets an evil queen and eventually decides she must do something about it with the support of the rest of the people on the ship. It was a short but captivating game that I enjoyed from start to finish.

It’s a very simple game that wears its heart on its sleeve. It wants to capture your nostalgia for old point and click adventure games. It does this well, and have some clever puzzles and ideas I genuinely enjoyed working my way through, but lacks a certain charm and personality the games it’s inspired by and they inspired have in spades. A simple, fun romp I am happy I got to have, but I don’t think everyone will be satisfied by it.

This is a beautiful pixel style point and click game, but the puzzles are sometimes a bit obscure and i need to use a walkthrough quite a lot [spoiler] especially the end part where you have to kinda like fight the queen, like how are you supposed to know you need to do the action multiple times, and i also hate the part where you have to time your landing on the spaceship hovercraft, also, WHY DID THE COW HAVE TO DIE SOBS [/spoiler]. The story is pretty short but i guess the story is quite ok, the title is unique and i like the fact that they spoke in rhymes. Music is amazing! i give this game 6.5/10

It's got a decent amount of length to it with a rather good story. For $6, it's good value but it's even better if you score this on discount cause you'll get an even sweeter deal out of it. Positives:
+ Good idea
+ Original story
+ Norwegian
+ Good music
+ A few parts looks acceptable
+ Aliens and spaceships
+ Achievements
+ Resonably priced

Negatives:
- Quirky controls
- A lot of back and forth
- Not knowing what do to next to progress (some of it dosent make sense)
- Must often click on things several times to get a response
- A tad frustrating and boring
- The graphics look quite bad (I know its supposed to look like this, but why?)
- Bugs
- Making all the conversations rhyme is not my cup of tea

Maybe this was not for me, but it was quite a mediocre game.
Its got some good ideas, and I can see what he was trying to do.
But the results are not that impressive.
So only play if youre very much into pixelart and point'n'click games.
Everyone else can instead play his newer game: Embracelet. Its much better.

Milkmaid of the Milky Way is a point & click game.

The game aesthetics are pixel art and this is only the start... actually I won't write the whole review in rhyme, if I want to be done in time. So yes the writing is nice and poetic, everything is written in rhyme. The music is great, the ambience is there, honestly this is quite the hidden gem! Some puzzles are a little nonsensical as is usually the case with those type of games (using a frog next to a cog so it screams to get an oil can, for instance,) but most of the puzzles were easy enough and enjoyable.

The game has a lot of running around with unskippable transitions, but I guess that the game is already quite short, so it's not that bad. The story is really intriguing and I can say there was a lot of creativity involved in the whole thing. The characters are adorable (well MOSTLY) and the experience is worth the time spent.

Overall, a fine point and click game that is between 1 to 2 hours long with a good story.

Недолгая славная адвенчура о близких контактах третьей степени.

1929-й, Норвегия, Вестланн, Телячий утёс. В горах живёт молодая молочница Рут, продолжающая дело почивших родителей. На утёсе только она и коровы, до ближайшего города топать три часа. Дела идут худо, сыром ещё можно торговать, а масло уже проиграло ценовую войну маргарину. А тут ещё инопланетяне некстати похитили бурёнок.

Игра этакая женская версия Space Quest, но вместо юмора акцент сделан на сказочности повествования. Весь текст зарифмован, вплоть до описаний локаций и предметов, подобно Заколдованной Элле. Вкупе с музыкой и пейзажами, напоминающими о работах студии Гибли, игра воспринимается как фантастическая сказка, где есть чётко прописанные зло и добро. А инопланетяне не просто очередная неизвестная раса, а целое волшебное королевство со всеми его атрибутами.

Загадки довольно простые и решение их напрашивается. Но есть несколько исключений. Из не очевидных - сушка брёвен. Непонятно, зачем тащить их на гору, когда солнце и на утёсе припекает. И вставка лягушки в инопланетный агрегат для имитации скрипа. Также мне не понравились загадки с нахождением правильного пути в трубе и подлёта к дереву с чередованием скоростей.

Игра неплоха, чтобы скоротать пару часов, но звёзд с неба не хватает. Не помешал бы перевод на русский и озвучка. Так как все реплики героиня проговаривает сама, то идеально подошла бы актриса-рассказчица из Beacon Pines. Но вряд ли подобное случится.

小清新的指向点击冒险解谜，讲述一位挤奶工由搜寻失窃牛群到解放外星飞船上受压迫群众的奇幻故事。特色是通篇语言都以两段式出现，且做到了丧心病狂的押韵，读起来怎一个诗意盎然。这也导致汉化工作基本不可能完成，这就像把五言绝句译成英文一样困难。说它丧心病狂，是因为语言既包括调查物品时的描述性文字，又包括同各色人物的日常对话。这在前半段和空灵辽阔的挪威山峦风光是相契合的，而到后半段的每一句口语，就显得强行尬聊了。个人感观上也更喜欢前期对这种田园牧歌式生活的描绘，反抗强权压迫的流程反而有那么点套路化，收尾处理上若做成双结局交由玩家自行选择可能会更好？

柔弱胜刚强，这是老子对于世间万物自然发展规律的描述。从氛围到节奏，本作的一切都是柔软的、悠闲的、舒缓的、无厘头的、天马行空的、道法自然的。连解谜都是如此，否则一柄木勺怎能操纵坚硬的钢铁巨兽？主题亦然，必须是淳朴善良的少女才能对抗黑暗残暴的女皇。最后回顾这段旅程，文字彰显出穿透性的感染力，简明轻快像素美工配上"The cows grazed lazily on the mountain grass.For a cow,this was definitely first class."的旁白，“风吹草低见牛羊”的意境一下子就出来了。

Milkmaid of the Milky Way is a fun and short point n click adventure, giving you exactly what it promises.

You play as Ruth, a milkmaid whose cows gets abducted by aliens. Determined to save your cows, you end up on an alien spacecraft. As you continue to explore, the story unfolds. It's well-written and keeps you interested in wanting to see the conclusion. The gameplay is simple point n click, you pick up items and you interact with the environment. But more isn't needed for this game, it does perfectly what it's supposed to. It's a good modern title in the genre, not being too edgy or too illogical with its puzzles.

I recommend this game for both hardcore fans and newcomers to the point n click genre. I'm also definitely interested in trying other the developer's latest title.

对于最后是去迎接新生活还是留在旧生活寻找新的出路，与其用既定剧本，不如把选择交到玩家手里，毕竟一开始对地球生活描写还挺多的，而直接随飞船离开地球、去往宇宙没有更多的铺垫，着实有些突兀了

The game has cute visuals with vivid colors, poetic dialogues, great music, adorable characters and strong eerie atmosphere. Yet, the puzzles could be more imaginative and challenging, while the story feels a little bit simplistic. Nevertheless It's an interesting, small surreal journey.

The good
- Cute minimalistic visuals with nice colors.
- It has a dreamy, surreal world that peculiarly combines calm countryside sceneries with sci-fi elements.
- Creative dialogues with cool sense of humor and rhymes like a poet.
- Great calm music that enhances the atmosphere.
- Interesting characters and an adorable protagonist. Ruth has no voice acting or facial expressions but you'll love her.
- Simple yet nice animations that fit the minimalistic visuals.
- Good controls. Everything feels responsive and the protagonist walks and acts pretty fast. It's not like many slow burn point and clicks.
- Distinct objects and available actions per screen avoid annoying pixel hunting.

The bad
- Puzzles are pretty easy. Limited interactions and only few collectable objects make them pretty straight forward. There are no combinations inside the inventory too. It needed something more imaginative and challenging.
- Somewhat simplistic story that is interesting and mysterious initially, but leads to a cliché battle between good and evil. Abrupt ending too.
- Too empty sound design with only few environmental sounds and music that plays all the time at the background.

ストーリーに納得いかないところや、不愉快だと感じる場面はあるけど「アート」「音楽」など、芸術面が、優れているから、価格分の価値はあると感じる。（定価なら、人それぞれ、違うだろうけど、セール価格なら、大多数は、満足するレベルの「芸術」があり）

（最初は、英語のみのSteam版を自分でプレイしていたが、ストーリーの詳細を理解するために、途中からは、「switch版　のプレイ動画」を見て、日本語翻訳ありの Ver. を見ることによる、疑似プレイで完了した。）

On aime :
- le fjord
- l'histoire passée du protagoniste
- la maitrise du rythme

On regrette :
- une histoire pas extraordinaire en soi
- des énigmes assez étranges
- une technique honnête mais pas spécialement agréable

Conclusion :
J'avais beaucoup aimé Embracelet, que je recommande, j'ai donc essayé ce premier jeu de l'auteur. Si on retrouve bien sa patte, le jeu reste moins ambitieux et moins profond.
C'est un petit conte étrange, pas désagréable, un point and click un peu à l'ancienne qui pourra vous plaire.

A short, but sweet point and click adventure that absolutely does not break new ground, but achieves its story-telling goals competently and uses puzzles that (for the vast majority of the time) do NOT require bat-crap insane, galaxy-brain solutions. And it is done in a gameplay/storytelling manner that gets you over the finish line in a little less than two hours, rather than dragging on and on and on.

Das Spiel habe ich schon länger in meinem Pile of Shame.
Und den haben viiiiiele von uns.

Einfach Games, die man mal im Sale geholt hatte, dann mal kurz probierte (oder auch gar nicht erst installierte) und die virtuell vor sich hin schimmeln.
Aber immer hat man irgendwie grad andere Games, die wichtiger sind :-)

Natürlich kann ein 1-Mann-Team keine Pixelart zaubern wie bei Legend of Kyrandia oder Virtuaverse oder ähnliche Adventure.

Die Grafik wirkt aber insgesamt durch seine Stimmigkeit, die feinen kleinen Effekte, die Schnörkelosigkeit.

Man sieht, was ist ein Hotspot, was ist einsackbar...

Und wer mich kennt, weiß, dass ich Point´n´Klicks mag, wo der Flow stimmt!

Jeu pixel dont l'héroine est une laitière, c'est original! Un jeu très poétique puisque toutes les phrases riment et le traduction française est vraiment bonne. c'est court (2-3h) mais la fin est assez difficile sans soluce. Un beau jeu qui rappel les premiers Lucasarts. 15/20

Pur essendo italiano non sono mai stato un fanatico delle avventure grafiche (sebbene uno dei primi giochi a cui abbia mai giocato fu [i]Zak McKracken[/i]), però sono contento di aver dato retta al mio istinto e acquistato questo [i]Milkmaid of the Milky Way[/i]. Un piccolo gioco molto apprezzabile creato da una persona sola che vive in Norvegia (il primo gioco norvegese che abbia mai provato!): la grafica e la bella colonna sonora sono rilassanti e aiutano a creare l'atmosfera, sia nella parte iniziale più bucolica ambientata tra i fiordi, sia quando il gioco prende una svolta fantascientifica. Lo stile tranquillizzante si riscontra anche nella generale semplicità degli enigmi (anche se due verso la fine sono piuttosto surreali e poco sensati) e nel fatto che non si possa morire o finire in un punto di non ritorno (anche se ho trovato un bug in cui in un'area la protagonista inizia a ruotare su se stessa e si può solo caricare un precedente salvataggio), nonché la buffa idea di avere i testi interamente in rima come se fosse una fiaba di qualche tipo. Molto piacevole e godibile per chi cerca un po' di relax con un titolo breve e poco impegnativo.

Milkmaid of the Milky Way is a true gem within the pixel point & click adventure genre with light to medium difficulty puzzles in the later part of the game.

It took me 2 hours to complete and it was absolutely worth it, it was a lovely adventure from start to end. The 1st half was very cozy and just wonderful as it set the scene, the 2nd half was equally wonderful but got a bit more attentive and eventful.

This is a pure story game and its thankfully not from a developer who lacks the proper skill so they must throw in tropes or try and make it philosophical or tie it in with some greater meaning, instead Milkmaid of the Milky Way has a captivating fantasy story skillfully written in rhyme with a mix of verisimilitude and sci-fi, there's nothing that's been slid in to tie it in with something in real life or something that takes you out of it.

It feels like every other game I play these days the story has painfully obvious influence by writers pushing their political beliefs and philosophies inside the games' story around every corner, Americanisms, etc. I'm so sick of it.

The soundtrack and sound-effects were wonderful and helped greatly to create an appropriate atmosphere and mood.

Regarding controllers: It has no native controller support and I find that extremely strange, it would be very easy to implement in a game such as this.

Milkmade of the Milky Way is a point and click adventure game. It's pixel art reminiscent of the 80s, done very beautifully.

You're Ruth. A milk maid in a Norwegian fjord in the 1920's. Ruth lives in a cottage up in the mountains, with her cows, making cheese and butter for a living, selling it to the townspeople, through her friend Erlend, who hikes to her home on his horse.
One Night there's a terrible storm, and a rock fell from the sky...

And that's all the information I could give without spoiling this absolute gem of a game. It's roughly 2 hours long, depending on how stuck you get, but like most point and click games, it gives you just enough information to solve all the puzzles, given you pay attention.
The story is short and sweet, but heartfelt and beautiful. The soundtrack is absolutely mesmerizing, and the mood is perfect.

If you've a couple of hours to spare, definitely check this game out!

I can' really give this game a score, and I don't think it's something I can keep doing either. I'm not a video game reviewer.
It's very hard to justify why one game is given a 5, and another a 6, or an 8. Especially considering how vastly different some of these games are.
Instead, I'll stick to the latter part:

should you play it?
That's a hard yes. If you like puzzles, gorgeous art direction, and a solid soundtrack, this game is definitely for you. If not, play it anyway. It's nice.
