This is a decent tactical-strategy game if you're in the market for something like FFT. It won't knock your socks off, but it gets the job done.

A turn-based tactics game similar to others by this publisher. Overall, decent system and gameplay loop. This one is very much like other Rideon "Mercenaries" titles -- to the point of using several maps, monster sprites, and sounds again. This doesn't bother me so much.

Pretty weak story and characters compared to "Wild Lynx," and probably bottom 20% of RPGs I've played, which is saying a lot. This is not because of poor translation, either. If you're trying to choose between this title and another by the same publisher...give this one a miss.

Otherwise, there's a similar "two branches" storyline to other Mercenaries titles, so most players will want to play through twice, and it's around 30-40 hours to do that unless you feel like grinding characters out to max level and synthesizing uber-powerful magical equipment.
