Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate HD es el “Castlevania 2D” que se puso traje 2.5D para verse más moderno… y de paso recordarte que viene de una era donde el dramatismo gótico era obligatorio por contrato. Es acción y aventura con estructura tipo metroidvania: exploras, vuelves con nuevas habilidades, abres caminos y repartes amor en forma de combos a todo lo que tenga colmillos (o mala actitud).

La primera impresión es clara: desplazamiento lateral, plataformeo, hack and slash y un castillo que respira fantasía oscura. El juego quiere que te sientas cazador épico… pero también quiere que aceptes que vas a recorrer pasillos como si estuvieras buscando la salida de un centro comercial embrujado. Aun así, cuando entra en ritmo, pega: combate ágil, estética tenebrosa y una vibra muy “esto es Castlevania… pero con el maquillaje de Lords of Shadow”.

Lo Bueno:
✅ 🧛‍♂️ Ambientación gótica y oscura bien lograda: castillo, monstruos y drama como si fuera requisito de la familia Belmont.
✅ 🎮 Compatibilidad total con mando: porque este tipo de acción se disfruta más apretando botones con intención.
✅ 🗡️ Combate tipo hack and slash en 2D/2.5D: combos, ritmo y golpes satisfactorios cuando el juego te deja fluir.
✅ 🏆 23 logros de Steam: para que tu autoestima tenga numeritos mientras tú finges que no te importan.
✅ ☁️ Steam Cloud y tablas de clasificación: guardado cómodo y competencia para quien necesite demostrar que su ego también esquiva.

Lo No Tan Bueno:
❌ 🧭 Metroidvania “light”: a ratos se siente más pasillo con llaves que exploración memorable 😬

[h2]Conclusión (Bueno)[/h2]
Mirror of Fate HD es un juego bueno: acción y aventura con estructura metroidvania, estética gótica fuerte y combate que sabe ser divertido cuando no te está llevando de la mano por otro corredor “misteriosamente bloqueado”. No es un desastre, pero tampoco es esa joya que te cambia la vida y te hace hablar en latín cada vez que ves una luna llena.

Lo más controversial: tiene 2032 recomendaciones totales, y se entiende por qué—es un título sólido para fans del estilo oscuro y del combate lateral. Pero ver 8 jugadores actuales es como entrar a un castillo legendario y encontrarlo convertido en museo: interesante, sí… vivo, no tanto. Aun así, si buscas un single player con vibra Castlevania moderna y no te molesta que el metroidvania sea más “educado” que salvaje, te va a rendir.

It's good. Not as good as Symphony of The Night or any DS game, but it is quite fun and short. If you like Lords of Shadow I think this will be a nice addition. If you want good old SOTN-style Castlevania, better look elsewhere.

Compared to the previous Castlevania LOS, this one is significantly shorter. Despite that I found myself really loving the linear left-right movement, the combat system and the art style of the game. I'm a fan of the style they chose for the cutscenes. It's just a shame it's so short.

This lands slightly below average, and unlike a borderline case, the reasons are clear. The game simplifies systems from earlier entries but fails to make that simplicity functional or rewarding.

Fun: 1.4 / 3
There’s some baseline engagement in progressing through the acts, but it drops off quickly. Enemies become a non-factor early on—once you clear required encounters, there’s no incentive to engage with them again. Most can be ignored entirely, which removes tension and reduces the game to simple traversal between set pieces.

Mechanics: 0.4 / 1
This is the weakest part of the game.

The same snapping issue seen in the Lords of Shadow titles is present here. Movement and jumps do not resolve naturally, instead locking onto platforms in a way that feels disconnected from player input. Given its handheld origins, this might have been more forgivable, but it results in **unreasonable deaths**, which makes it a functional problem rather than a technical limitation.

Combat is heavily stripped down, but not in a way that improves clarity. Boss fights are especially limited—you’re effectively locked into a standard 3–5 hit window before being forced to disengage. There’s no room for extending pressure or expressing mastery. Secondary weapons, which historically added flexibility in Castlevania, are almost entirely useless in boss encounters, removing another layer of decision-making.

Progression design is also poorly handled. The game expects you to reach the end of each act, unlock abilities, and then backtrack to collect upgrades. However, the level design does not meaningfully support this. The areas aren’t structured for rewarding re-exploration, and more importantly, the upgrades themselves are unnecessary. You can complete the game without fully upgrading health, magic, or sub-weapons, which makes the entire loop feel pointless.

Overall, the mechanics are simplified without being refined, resulting in something that feels both restricted and underdeveloped.

The narrative functions mainly as connective tissue between Lords of Shadow 1 and 2. It fills in gaps but lacks impact on its own. It exists to explain rather than to engage.

Music & Graphics: 0.3 / 0.5
The music is serviceable but uninspired—there’s a noticeable lack of energy in the compositions. Visually, the game is average for a 3DS title. It doesn’t stand out, but it doesn’t significantly fail either, aside from the mechanical issues tied to movement and presentation.

Castlevania: LoS - Mirror of Fate é um bom jogo, nada mais que isso. A gameplay é boa e a história é legal. Sou fã da franquia, mas não considero esse como um dos melhores. Pra mim tá no rank B, é um bom jogo apenas. Eu queria fazer 100% nesse jogo, mas o modo Boss Rush é patético, vc percebe que o combate nem sempre é responsivo, principalmente nos bosses do Alucard. Parece que a hitbox dos chefes dele simplesmente desligam e voltam do nada, e isso aconteceu nas duas vezes que tentei fazer o 100%. E na segunda vez eu desisti pelo mesmo motivo, e provavelmente não vou jogar esse jogo por um bom tempo. Concluindo, se você for fã da franquia e gostar da trilogia Lords, jogue. Se você quer um jogo plataforma metroidvania pra passar horas jogando, Mirror of fate com certeza não é ele, só pegue se for a última opção.

Originalmente, ele nasceu no Nintendo 3DS em 2013 feito em 2.5D. A versão HD trouxe melhorias gráficas, texturas mais limpas e ajustes de iluminação para PC e consoles.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate HD quer ser homenagem, continuação, espetáculo e tragédia familiar ao mesmo tempo.

Ele é a ponte narrativa entre Lords of Shadow 1 e 2, ele explica eventos importantes da linhagem Belmont nessa nova cronologia. Assim como o primeiro Lords of Shadow... Mirror of Fate não faz parte da cronologia clássica da franquia Castlevania, como Castlevania: Symphony of the Night e outros clássicos. É um universo paralelo.

Aqui vc controla a família Belmont ao longo da campanha em busca de vingança. A história é bem simples, bem mais simples que o Lord of Shadow 1, eu diria mediano e curto, não é ruim.

O sistema de combate equilibra clássico com combos modernos e funciona. Apesar de ser 2.5D, ele mantém uma árvore de habilidades mais moderna, diferente do estilo RPG mais tradicional visto em Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, cada lvl que vc atingir, aprenderá novos golpes.

A direção de arte preciso dizer que eles acertaram, o castelo, as masmorras, as torres, o esgoto, prisão vertical e os salões têm aquela estética gótica pesada herdada do universo Lords of Shadow. Em relação aos gráficos no estilo cel shading,a própria engine da Mercurysteam... até que me agradou, pois era do 3DS ein, já te disse kkkk.

meus pontos negativos são.... animações rígidas. pouca variações de inimigos eeeeeee as plataformas....meu deus, as plataformas dizendo "confie em mim"... alguns saltos são tão precisos que você começa a duvidar do seu controle, da física e da própria gravidade... se vc caiu, claramente foi o destino sombrio da linhagem Belmont kkkk.

Ele não é ruim, mas é como aquele primo estiloso que foi estudar cinema fora e voltou querendo transformar o almoço de domingo em documentário existencial. Hideo Kojima não teve sua participação nesse jogo, eu acredito.

É Castlevania? É... é Castlevânia!
Tem mapa interligado? Claro que tem.
Tem backtracking? È obrigatório ter em Castlevania!!
Tem aquela sensação orgânica de descoberta tipo Castlevania: Symphony of the Night???

Ich hätte echt nicht gedacht, dass dieses Spiel so gut ist. Ich habe einen kleinen Zwischenhappen erwartet, aber da steckt tatsächlich eine richtig gute Story dahinter, die unfassbar spannend und mitreißend ist, während das Gameplay gleichzeitig nahezu perfekt ist.
