Been playing this game on and off since Beta. Played all the classes and even raided back in the day.
It's really a great game, and I've played lots of MMO's, but it could've been so much better with a competent development team. Whoevers decision it was to stop adding more content and developing the game should be in prison. They had a home run here and they just gave up on it for a survival type conan game (which is awful). It really is a shame... It only failed because of failed decisions made by the people in charge.
Maybe one day they'll sell the rights to another company and they can build upon it.. Hopefully it isn't too late for that. I tend to stay away from Funcom games, because of what they did here.. but if you have the chance to play this game, do yourself a favor and try it out. Just don't give them any money.
We need an Age of Conan 2 and we need Funcom not to abandon the project as they did with this gem.

Dieses MMO-Kleinod aus den frühen 2000er Jahren läuft tatsächlich immer noch während andere mittlerweile abgeschaltet wurden (oder in Zukunft werden). Spieler laufen einem immer noch genug über den Weg also kann man auch nicht sagen das es tot ist.
Sorgte seinerzeit für Gesprächsstoff, wegen den vielen Bugs aber auch wegen dem blutigen und wuchtigem Kampfsystem (das ist Conan, das ist Hyborien - da darf man nicht zimperlich sein).
Alte Accounts aus der Zeit funktionieren auch noch - ein weiterer Pluspunkt!
Eine Grafikbombe darf man natürlich aus heutiger Sicht nicht erwarten, dennoch ist die Optik immer noch ansehnlich.
Kleiner Minuspunkt: die f2p-Version bietet auch weiterhin nur 2 freie Charakterslots an, man kann also nicht alle Klassen ausprobieren oder muß löschen und neu testen.
Wer ein bisschen Oldschool-MMO-Luft schnuppern will sollte mal reinschauen, solange es Funcom nicht einstellt.
Ein mit Liebe zu Detail gemachtes MMO. Zwar uralt doch immer noch spielenswert, auch wenn nicht mehr viel auf den Servern los ist.
Nul à chier ce MMO. <Il représent bien l'univers de conan mais il est P2W dès le début. En gros tu peux jouer gratuitement mais seulement jusqu'au lvl 10 après si tu ne payes pas des caisses premium payable qu'avec de l'argent réel ben tu te feras fumer pars les ennemis lvl 9 aberrant. Comment Funcm peuvent faire un système pareil même EA ils ont pas osé faie sa sur Star wars the old républic. Pourtant EA la casi totale de leur jeux ce sont de gros P2W entre battlefront 2 et FC26 avec les cartes FUT des joueurs n'oseront pas à faire un système directe P"W sur un jeu F2P. La je dois avouer que Funcom ont fait plus pire que EA aberrant. L'histoire à l'aire d'être bien mais arriver à la quête lvl 10 je fais la mission ou faut être lvl 10 je tombe sur des ennemis lvl9 ils font plus de dégâts que moi aberrant. Juste parce que je n'ai pas pris de coffre premium pour avoir du meilleur stuff. J'ai mis que le stuff qu'on reçoit en récompense de quêtes ben sa ne suffit pas pour avancer dans la campagne aberrant. J'ai fait ça je tombe conte 2 lvl 9 alors que je suis lvl 10 jeme fait fumer en 2-2 aberrant. Je vous signale que SWTOR on peut faire la campagne sans rien payer et tu tombe contre des ennemis qui ont 1 lvl de moins que toi au moin tu te fais pas fumer sur SWTOR tandis que la tu te fais déglinguer comme jamais. Pourtant EA sont les roi de la microtransation sur les jeux entre Battlefront 2 et FC26 mais sur SWTOR ils ont pas osé faire ça pour la campagne donc bravo vous avez réussi à faire un jeu avec plus de microtransaction que EA je pensais pas que c'était possible ben Funcom m'ont prouvé le contraire. Donc si vous voulez faire une campagne 100% F2P aller sur SWTOR a place de ce MMO parce qu'ici c'est 1h de jeu gratuite après tu te feras tellement fumer par des ennemis plus bas lvl que ti que sa te donnera pas envie de continuer.
It's a ton of fun, even as old as the game is. Though, for anyone starting, choose the Crom server; Fury is relatively dead so you won't get much actual multiplayer out of it, and there are lots of areas where multiplayer is more than just "nice." Plus, while Crom touts itself as PvE while Fury is PvP, there are still specific area you can engage in PvP in Crom; Fury is just PvP wherever, meaning you could be mid-quest and a rando can chop you down... assuming there's anyone around to do that on Fury, anyway.
Though, most of my time has been solo play, and it's been fun doing that as well. Typical quest you'd expect from a 2008 mmo, but the grittier and grim nature makes it feel more alive than most MMOs I've played in a while. It's truly a great time and I can't reccomend it enough.

Played this game since 2009, grew up with it, sometimes still playin it bc im used to it since like 17 years, i made all the things possible, putted like 50 characters on level 80, did all the instances and quests, got the best stuffs ect, idk how many hours i have on it, surely over 10 000 or even more,The atmosphere, the lore, the quests, the story, the challenges. For me, it's the best game in the world idc if im not objective lmao
Age of Conan: Unchained is the MMO equivalent of walking into a fantasy tavern and immediately getting hired as “Violence Intern.” You start as a grim warrior in a grim world full of grim problems, and the solution to every single one is: **hit it until the lore stops moving.**
The vibe is immaculate: Conan-style grit, dark fantasy energy, and enough dramatic music to make you feel like you’re legally required to brood. The combat has that crunchy, action-y feel where you’re not just clicking—your character is out here doing **interpretive murder** with combo animations that say, “Yes, I *meant* to do that.”
Character customization and gear progression are also peak MMO behavior:
* You begin as “random person with a stick.”
* Two hours later you’re a heavily armored menace who looks like a museum exhibit titled *“Anger, 2008.”*
* Your inventory is 40% weapons, 60% items you’re scared to delete “just in case.”
Questing is a mix of “epic journey” and “local man solves problems by reducing them to smaller problems.” Every NPC is like:
> “Hero… we are doomed.”
> And you’re like:
> “Have you tried… me swinging an axe?”

Well.... it used to be an awesome game. Now it's BROKEN.
I haven't played this game in over 10 years. I'd been feeling nostalgic and decided to give it a go again... unfortunately, whether through steam or through the Funcom client's launcher, the game crashes after accepting the EULA. I tried a different localconfig.xml file, even tried tweaking the localconfig.xml file. Also tried setting all executable files within the game's folder to "run as administrator" to no avail.
R.I.P. AoC... the devs have broken you to the point of non-function. (No that they care since there's been 4 Conan games released since this one... but I digress).
Um jogo curioso de se avaliar. Ele tem algumas mais das minhas primeiras horas favoritas em qualquer MMORPG, mas que logo que você sai da primeira ilha... tudo decai. Dá pra sentir onde estava concentrado o dinheiro na época do lançamento. Ainda diria que vale a pena.

Something for everybody. Awesome combat mechanics, pvp, 24-people raids, worldboss fights with 30+ people, 6-man dungeons, build cities, roleplay if you like.
На дворе 2026 и спустя 15 лет игра всё еще выглядит и ощущается невероятно бодро!
Отличная музыка, интересная боёвка, детальная проработка окружения, уникальный сеттинг и дизайн, своя атмосфера в духе классического темного фентези от мастера Роберта Ирвина.
Дифирамбы можно долго исполнять, но лучше зайти и попробовать. Определенно одна из самых недооцененных и незаслуженно забытых игр прошлого десятилетия. На голову выше многих современных конкурентов в жанре!

Despite the hours shown here, I have played Age of Conan for literally thousands of hours over the years, both thru Steam and with the game client from Funcom. I have played both as a free player and paid subscription. You can EASILY get by as a free player & play for a loooong time with zero issues, content-wise. If you love the Conan the Barbarian world, this game is for you. It's brutal, exciting & extremely varied, from drunken pirate brawls to political intrique in a huge Aquilonian city(similar to ancient Rome), to sweltering jungles inhabited by primitive Pict cannibal tribes, wild animals and nameless creatures from the eldritch depths. Get ready for high adventure, swinging blood-soaked blades & facing dark magick no man should wield. Age of Conan is a great game.
Randomly decided to check this out again after only playing literally the first day of the games existence...and I'm pleasantly shocked. Mostly from the fact that it's actually fun. I don't think I appreciated this when it launched. It's actually a lot of fun.

Fun fantasy game, can be a little buggy but overall there's a ton of missions and several large maps to explore with a large variety of enemies and loot, it's got some pay to win elements but you can grind your way through the game without too much trouble, there's usually mission items or just good loot you get from certain shops or looting enemies too.

Used to love playing this game. Now however it will not launch due to authentification errors. Not possible to create a new account either, so....can't do anything else then thumbing it down as support is also not replying to m,y ticket.
I will admit that I am coming to this game in 2025 and I acknowledge that this game came out in 2008. It appears to not have many of the quality of life improvements that WoW has so it is either has nostalgia or is difficult to play depending on your perspective. The world is interesting and it seems somewhat soloable despite being an MMO. This game is a free download and your mileage may vary, but after a few hours, I'm done.

did tutorial, saved hot chick, killed fat slaver guy, got his sword, did not get kill credit for quest. made it to city, cant enter city because quest did not update. cant go back to area to kill again. locked out of progressing. for as old as this game is, this kind of ♥♥♥♥ should have been worked out years ago. but hey, at least the cash shop still works... absolute trash...

If you like MMO's, you'll likely enjoy this game. If I remember correctly, I first played it when it was in beta. I'm recently returning to it and really enjoying myself. I wish that development and improvements were continuing with it. I feel that it has so much potential. Regardless, it's still a fun game for what it is.

Oyunda bir süreliğine Tortage adasında kalıyorsunuz, burada iki seçeneğiniz oluyor. Tortage Day ve Tortage Night.
Tortage Night, oyunun singleplayer modu denebilir bence. Tamamen tek kişi oynuyorsunuz ve hikaye odaklı oynuyorsunuz.
Tortage Day ise daha çok online bir deneyim.

Визуально игра несколько устарела, но атмосфера суровой вселенной Конана передана отлично. Музыкальное сопровождение прекрасно дополняет ощущение опасности и эпичности происходящего. Фактически требует покупки в конце, а по отзывам проблемы с покупкой не решаются компанией. Обнов нет, даже годовщину уже не отмечают. Игра старая (спасибо, кэп). Изредка есть проблемы со связью (но с *цензура* норм, так что вероятно роскомнадзор балуется).
Combat system like no other, tanking takes skill, its not simple. The game is free, you have to experience the game at level 80 because thats when all the fun really begins. The game needs more people, I would hate to see it die. Please come play, but play on the PvE server, and give Bigsnake a shout in global, thats me. I would be happy to help you out with whatever you need help with in game.
