Из-за этого в игру приходится заходить через exe-файл в корневой папке игры с параметром запуска «Windows XP», и из-за этого не работает оверлей Стима, а также регистрация статистики часов. Но если не учитывать этот НЮАНС, из-за которого, чтобы поиграть в игру, мне пришлось пересмотреть тысячи гайдов, то игра, в принципе, хорошая. На часов шесть под какое-нибудь музло или подкаст вообще отлично пойдёт

Przede wszystkim w tej grze mało jest tego "extreme", ale gdyby powstała z dzisiejszą fizyką od SCS to myślę, że mogłaby zrobić spore wrażenie, w końcu modów tego typu jest pełno.

-Stacje paliwa są w grze bezużyteczne, bo zawsze starcza paliwa żeby dojechać na miejsce

I enjoyed this game back in its prime time when I was able to run it perfectly on my older and less powerful systems I had back in the day on a disk and not the steam version. In the current modern windows 11 era, I like many users had an issue with upon opening the game it would crash to desktop right away. Followed a guide posted on the steam forums to create a config file to put in my documents game folder and it did work, but now I sadly receive an out of memory error after driving for 5-10 mins on each map and it doesn’t matter the job. After dialing the graphics and other settings down the best I could I assumed maybe it could be perhaps a conflict with my track IR and open track software or my wheel, but after axing all 3, it still gives me that out of memory error.
Overall, I just can’t recommend this running on modern windows systems in 2025. I know it’s an approx. 14-year-old game at this point, but it’s rather unfortunate I am unable to determine why the memory error is happening.

А так всё тот же старый добрый "Extreme Trucker".

Was only able to play it for 5 minutes before it crashed, but those were 5 good minutes.
I only have this game because I played it when I was a kid and that's the only reason I like it. It isn't very good even by 2011 standards but its ok. Progression is to linear but its a good simple game you can bang out in a few weeks to a month and come back to every few years or so. Only buy it if its on sale

game was a lot of fun when it was working. It just up and stopped there were never any updates. I own the cd for the game and installed it on an old computer with windows 7 and it works on it. So now when I want to play "18 wheels of steel extreme trucker 2 I have to get the old computer and boot up to play instead of using my Alienware 17 R 5 computer laptop for all games

Possibly one of my favorite 18 Wheels of Steel games. I would recommend this game as long as you add the config file that was missing while downloading the game. There is a guide to fix this, and it's not hard at all. Still, it's a good game.
Amazing game.. however no longer works ever since Windows had that update. Just crashes on start.
Graphics are a bit dated, but the game has LOTS of ambience and character, is very immersive and the environment has been lovingly crafted. The routes are extremely interesting and where else can you drive a road train with five trailers or drive the mile-high highway in south America? Only in this game!!! For me, this game never gets old, even though I also play and love ETS and ATS.
My only grievance is - it no longer works on my Windows11 rig.

In 18 Wheels of Steel Extreme Trucker 2 ist erstmals kein Highway-Netz enthalten, stattdessen muss sich der Spieler auf besonderen extremen Strecken beweisen.
18 Wheels of Steel Extreme Trucker 2 enthält neben kleinen Verbesserungen zusätzlich zu den aus dem Vorgänger bekannten Strecken zwei weitere Szenarien, Montana und Bangladesh.
Diesmal befahren die Spieler unter anderem die vereisten Straßen von Alaska, die unbefestigten und schmalen Pfade von Bangladesch und steile und kurvenreiche Streckenabschnitte in Montana.
Sehr Abwechslungsreich durch die 5 verschiedenen Regionen und den vielen Aufträgen.
Grafisch sollte man nicht soviel erwarten, aber es reicht völlig aus.
Wer solche Truck Simulatoren mag, der wird dieses Spiel mögen.

For the first time, 18 Wheels of Steel Extreme Trucker 2 does not contain a highway network, instead the player has to prove himself on special extreme routes.
18 Wheels of Steel Extreme Trucker 2 contains small improvements in addition to the routes known from the predecessor, two more scenarios, Montana and Bangladesh.
This time, players will ride the icy roads of Alaska, the unpaved and narrow paths of Bangladesh and steep and winding stretches of road in Montana, among others.
Very varied due to the 5 different regions and the many orders.
Graphically you shouldn't expect too much, but it's quite enough.
If you like such truck simulators, you will like this game.
Such a classic from SCS. I remember playing this game in 2011 on wildtangent because i didn't know what steam was yet lol. If you didn't play it back in the day it probably won't be that impressive by today's standards, but if you remember this game, that nostalgia wave will hit you like a freight train.
There is one issue with the game in its current state, a config file must be added to the game directory to get it to launch as it appears windows has broken the way this game starts up, after adding this file to the directory everything works as it should. I am happy to show you how to do it upon request it's very simple to do.

If you want to see how giant leap SCS made when releasing STDS and then ETS2 or you really need that sweet shot of nostalgia no matter what, sure, go ahead and buy this. You'll quickly realise that you sunk hours of your childhood into... this. Game engine and physics more suited to 1998 than 2011, AI logic is only slightly better than Cyberpunk 2077 in 1.0 version and the trucks are both pathetically slow on straight line and faster than sport cars in corners.
Sidenote - you'll need to fiddle around to change config.cfg from OpenCL to DX9 to even start it, there's thread in community page on steam describing that. SCS pls fix, it'll be funny to see version update to this shovelware 10 years after release.

Hallo Ihr Hobby Trucker da draußen vor den Bildschirmen,
die Erfolgsgeschichte geht weiter! Unser Transport Unternehmen will Internationaler werden. Daher wird nur noch Englisch in der Firma gesprochen (keine Deutsche Übersetzung im Gegensatz zum ersten Teil).
Aus Kostengründen gibt es auch weiterhin keine Navigationsgeräte in den Trucks, es gibt nur Straßenkarten mit der Lieferadresse.
Es wurde leider auch wieder am Radio in den Trucks verzichtet nur das Elegante Brummen des Motors ist zu hören. Aber laut unseres Chefs dürfen wir eigene Geräte zum abspielen vom Musik nutzen (integrierter Audioplayer).
Unser Kundenstamm hat sich vergrößert! Neben den bekannten Kunden auf der Frostigen Ice Road geht es jetzt auch in das Urige Waldige Montana. Danach geht es weiter in Richtung Süd Amerika. Aber auch das Bunte Bangladesch sowie das unendliche Australische Outback ist mit dabei.
So verschieden wie die Länder so Extrem ist auch unsere Fracht! Vom Muldenkipper voller Zitronen über den Indischen Elefanten bis hin zum Road Train mit 5 Tankwagen Anhängern ist alles dabei.
Aber einen besonderen Kunden haben wir da noch! In Südamerika ist unsere Firma Partner der Feuerwehr. Heißt wir sind mit einem Leiterwagen und Sonderrechten (Blaulicht und Sirene) im Dschungel unterwegs.
Zudem noch ein kleiner Tipp für eure Fahrten im Australischen Outback, die Lieferadresse ist eine Schätzfrage wer Sucht der findet!
Es war eine wunderschöne Zeit mit Witzigen, nervigen aber auch Entspannten Stunden.

after playing american long haul the only thing in this that is better is after you push new game u actually get a mission and you don't have to spent 10 minutes pressing every key on the keyboard just to figure out how to start the game.
after playing extrreme trucker 1 which had UNACCEPTABLE graphics even as an old game, at least extreme trucker 2 gives you ACCEPTABLE graphics as an old game. if you want to buy an 18 wheels of steel game, at least this one has acceptable graphics for an old game, so if you WANT TO , MUST TO, HAVE TO, this is the only one tolerable.

it simply won't launch. i bought this game years ago and i've got 10 minutes of "gameplay" aka the first 2 seconds from the intro music and that's it.
Do not buy this game if you are looking for steering wheel support. I use the logitech g920 and although it works, it works rather poorly. For whatever reason the game does not use the settings put into the logitech g hub app. As a result the steering is super stiff. The centering spring is always at 100% and it is not fun to play with and it is particularly bad for your steering wheel. Mine heated up very quickly and gave off a burning smell. I played this game as a kid and it was cool to revisit, but if you do not have that connection I would purchase a newer game or get this on sale instead.

Este jogo me trás boas lembranças. Hoje instalei ele pela Steam, depois de anos sem jogar. Apesar do pouco tempo jogado no histórico, acreditem, eu joguei muito esse jogo. Para quem está enjoado do sistema de ETS2 ou ATS e quer um jogo diferente e igualmente incrível, este é o jogo certo. É um jogo de excelente qualidade e com uma ótima proposta.
Para a SCS eu faço um pedido: por favor, façam o 18 Wheels of Steel Extreme Trucker 3, com certeza eu compraria.

Para empezar debemos pensar en la epoca de creacion de este juego.
Yo lo jugue en su dia y me gusto mucho. Esta claro que un ETS es mucho mejor en casi todos los aspectos pero este no me decepciona.
Teniendo en cuenta eso dire que los graficos no son punteros pero suficientes.
Tienes que llevar cargas por zonas dificiles de montaña o heladas con unas dificultades en ciertas zonas superiores a las de ETS.
Los mapas estan bien trabajados y con buenos detalles aun que es cierto que no son demasiado grandes.
Compatible con volante y para mi imprescindible para disfrutarlo de verdad.
A dia de hoy lo compraria? Pues si esta muy barato si, Pero por 10€ como lo venden..... Indudablemente no. A ese precio mejor comprar el ETS o el ATS en oferta que sale mas baratos (sin dlcs) y son mejores juegos.

Instalei e desinstalei varias vezes e o jogo nao entra ,,,,,uso windows 10. Acho que deveria ter alguma observaçao se o jogoo aceita ou nao o w10.
This game may be old and outdated compared to newer SCS games, but it introduces the player into trucking in an easy, non-confusing way.
Only downsides that come with the game are:
The capped speed limit (50 Km/hr);
The really slow AI;
A non-costumizable view (like that of ETS2 and ATS);
The REALLY outdated engine
Overall, it is a pretty easy game to learn but it has suffered from the technological limitations of SCS' Prism3d engine.

Wer die alten Games mit den alten Grafiken und den alten Sounds mag ist es sehr zu empfehlen.
Melhor que o primeiro, na verdade, ta mais pra dlc, é uma continuação do primeiro, com mais estradas, e caminhões diferentes, só faltou um gps, o jogo também não possui regras de transito.
Has same features as the first game, and a lot more. Minimap, save anywhere, biggers maps of same areas, new areas aswell, improved controls. One of the best truck games for me.

it has its ups and downs but euro truck simulator 2 and american truck simulator are way better to be honest the driving mechanics are good keys are easy to remember and its cheap the bad parts are the graphics did not change from the last two installments absolutely no freeroam does not support xbox controllers map restrictions got on my nerves if you looking a really good trucking game i recommend euro truck simulator 2 and american truck simulator
